It’s a typical gas station with the only difference being they offer a small variety of grocery items. They have various types of prepackaged jerky, glass bottles of locally made salsa and sauces, cold sodas and offer premade Dunkin Donuts in a small plastic display case. The restrooms are clean and we’ll maintained. The clerk welcomed us with a warm smile when we first walked in which is always wonderful to experience. If you are looking for a small place quickly pick up a forgotten(common) grocery type item or a needed potty break while on the road then this is a good stopping spot for you. They also have a Taco place connected to them that I did not try because we had already eaten lunch. This was our first quick visit to this place but we will definitely be back here instead of stopping at one of the mega rest stop Wal-Mart feeling touristy places that have popped up all along I-20. I would much rather support a local business than a multiple location corporate center that is extremely busy all the time with long lines and an impersonal just another tourist feel to them.

This is one of the worst gas stations I have ever visited, and it has been this way for awhile. Over the past ten years I have lived near this gas station, it has only gone from bad to worse. Besides bad service, the gas station is unsafe and unsanitary. My mother has had the gas nozzles overflow while she was pumping gas to which the clerk told her he wasn’t going to do anything about it. Most of the hoses are mostly if not completely frayed. Some of the pump handles are broken off in jagged edges. There is gasoline on a considerable amount of the ground. How this gas station hasn’t been shut down is beyond my understanding. The only positive thing about this gas station is that they have lowered their gas prices to a normal level instead of being at least 10 cents overpriced. At least now people won’t be paying too much for gas that is probably just as dirty as this Exxon location. Do not go here if you care about your safety or about your vehicle.

Beware of the service… below was sent to both Pizza Inn & Exxon. I want you to know what kind of employee’s that you have representing your company. Friday night, I was sitting in your location in Talty, TX located at I-20&FM1641 inside the Exxon station. I was waiting on my pizza that I had ordered. A woman came in very concerned that the upper end of the hose was damaged & fuel was spilling all over the fueling area. She was scared to start her car & move due to the danger of a spark causing an explosion. The attendant on duty Cody’s reply was«Well don’t smoke a cigarette.» The lady just stood there with her mouth open shocked by his answer. She then left still in shock by his answer after she told her kids to stay in the store to be safe while she moved the vehicle. I followed her out to she if I could help since the employee refused to. She was right to be scared. There was fuel everywhere. She ended up putting her car in neutral to get away from the spilt fuel before starting her vehicle. She went back in & told what appeared to be the owner/manager of the facility. When she was done talking to him, I approached him & told him what he said about not lighting a cigarette. He said«I will take care of it. What do you want me to do?» I replied to just take care of it, that was horrible customer service. Fast forward to tonight, we call in another pizza order. We wait in the drive-though line & no one ever comes to the window. My wife goes in. Three employees are helping one woman order some fudge. When they give her the order, they all three disappear. Cody comes back to the front. His cell phone rings, he takes the PERSONALCALL instead of waiting on my wife. He walks away again after the personal call. My wife says loudly is someone going to help me. Cody turns around to help her. After she pays for the pizza, she opens the box to make sure they are the correct pizzas. He says is there a problem very rudely. She says«no, I just wanted to make sure they are the correct pizzas.» This Cody needs to learn some customer service skills. Is this what you want as the face of your company to consumers that have other options?

This is a convenient location off I-20 en route to either Terrell or Kaufman and points in between. They have their own indoor restaurant called«Taco Mayo,» but I have never dined there. The station is very clean inside and out. Lots of souvenirs for travelers, and lots of essentials like milk, diapers, even cell phone cases and belts. The bathrooms are clean — there are 2 regular stalls and one handicapped stall — and all the locks work. They often have samples of chips to try at the counter. They have a nice carwash in the back that allows you to pay at the carwash entrance or add on to your gas total at the pump to get a code. The gas is often a little pricier here than at some other locations in town, but if it is after dark, I feel a bit safer here because it is so well lit at night. They have two diesel pumps, which is another reason why I stop here. Stations with diesel are increasing in number, but not fast enough. They are right next door to the Sonic, so you can fill up your car and your tummy in basically one stop.

Took this exit by mistake and found a new spot. This station is an extremely clean place to get out and stretch. Bathrooms are spic and span. Selection of ‘convenience store’ stuff is fine, with a wall full of jarred pickles, jams, jellies and so on. Plus there is some Texas-themed kitsch for folks who might just be passing through the Lone Star State looking for a souvenir. Instead of grabbing familiar fare at the Sonic next door, try the Taco Mayo(attached to the gas station) menu. The food is superior to Taco Bueno and Taco Bell. Plus, the folks are really nice. I’d give this place four stars, but the gasoline is 10 cents higher than any place within 50 miles — either direction. Still, this is a good stopping point(near Terrell) on IH20.

It’s a nice gas station INSIDE, but their pumps look like they’re from the 80s and haven’t been cleaned since then either! The Taco Mayo is the worst Tacos I’ve ever had the displeasure of trying.
