I’d give the dingbats that run this Walmart 0 stars if I could. I went in to buy beer yesterday and realized I left my wallet back at the house as I was checking out. My brother in law was in the car, so I told them we’d be right back in to complete the purchase. Keep in mind I’m 42, and I look 42. My 33 year old brother in law went right back to the same register and they then wouldn’t sell it to him because he was buying it for someone underage(i.e. me). Common sense tells anyone that was ridiculous, but they apparently lack any common sense. If we were master criminals, why in the world would my brother in law go to the same register to pay for the same beer. I’d simply have him go in grab more beer and go to a different register. Never mind the fact I’m 42! Complete morons.

Can’t believe I’m reviewing a WalMart, and giving it five stars too, but it’s landscaped so nicely and the employees are so friendly and helpful, very unusual for WalMart stores… open 24hours a day too.

This is a hidden treasure in town because it’s hard to find. :) It’s behind the old Walmart in town and I have to say one of the more attractive Walmarts in the area due the way the parking lot is laid out with trees and shrubbery. To get to this Walmart is complicated. But, it follows a pattern of one or two traffic lights to serve multiple shopping centers. This creates a smoother, faster flow of traffic in and out. I didn’t ask the size of the store, but I assume it may be on the smaller side as some of the aisles did seem narrower. It’s not the typical Walmart layout, if there is such a thing. It’s more of a small town meeting place with a fast food place near the front and Walmart further in. I know Walmart does allow fast food places in many of their super centers but this one has more of a mall food court/outdoor seating lazy café atmosphere due to being open on two sides. First thing I notice is that this store is kept very clean. It’s arranged unusually from some of the Walmarts I’ve seen but this doesn’t detract from its overall functionality. The character of a store is hidden within the personalities of its employees and sometimes not as obvious. I did ask one employee a question about the Foryth area. While she could have quickly answered it and gone on about her business, this young lady invited me to come into the store, partly because it was cooler and partly because of less noise. She took the time to explain what I’d asked and offered suggestions. It was very kind of her. I noticed that type of attitude with the other employees that work there: willing to go the extra mile to help you find something or assist you. This Walmart is a little more expensive on some things but that shouldn’t be an issue over saving a couple of dollars given that this is a great store. It’s right off the Interstate and perfect if you’re traveling or coming back home to Macon and need to pick up a few food items when you’re a few minutes from home.

I’m not a huge fan of Walmart but this is the closest one to me. It is a super Walmart so it carries most of what I need most of the time. The produce is ok but I usually go to Ingalls because they carry better products for healthy eating in my opinion.

I give this Wal-Mart 5 stars because it isn’t filled with the riff-raff south of the Monroe County Line. Quite possibly, this is the safest Wal-Mart on the planet because it sits about 2 miles below and 1 mile above the densest population of law enforcement in the whole state of Georgia. If you shop here, do so with confidence that you’re covered, should things go south… and pay no attention to the plainclothes folks with shootin irons strapped on their hips.

Usually well staffed and clean. For a small town, it is nice to have such a big and wonderful store.
