It was great for a little café. Had the chipotle tritip dip sandwich and clam chowder. It was honestly very good, some of the best small restaurant food ever. Other people in my party were pleased with their sandwiches. Super thick crispy bacon. It was great! And so was our waitress

FANTABULOUSPLACE! Awesome atmosphere with a train inside, close to cute shops and it is right on the main drag of Fort Bragg. Their Bloody Mary was perfect and the Lumberjack Burrito was delicious– highly recommend checking this place out!

I come to Laurel every time I’m in Fort Bragg. Their clam chowder is outstanding and everything else is total quality. I had a turkey California croissant and it was amazing. My wife had the pastrami and loved it. Big thumbs up.

The food at the restaurant is delicious. The owner, Scott, is a great guy and fun to chat with. We were wandering around Ft. Bragg on vacation and decided to stick around for a fundraiser at this deli. Scott brought us several dishes to try that he normally serves for lunch. They were awesome! His baked beans and potato salad were the best I’ve ever tasted. We loved it so much that we had to come back a couple days later to try more of their dishes. We were not disappointed. They had a special of taco salad, which was so good that I’m running out of adjectives to describe Scott’s food. We chatted some more and Scott brought us a pudding cake, which was also delicious. If you’re in town, make sure you stop in to this restaurant by the Skunk Train. You won’t regret it.

Good breakfasts, and decent sandwiches. A nice place to grab a bite to eat. Food was served fairly quickly after our order was taken. The staff was attentive and friendly. The place has a bit of an awkward set up, as if seem the tables are set up in a wide spot in a small indoor building of small shops. If you’re there anywhere near noon, they get rather crowded and it can take a little while to get a table. I have ate here a few times, and would return again when in the area.

Simple, delicious American food served in a cafeteria-like setting. We came to this place for lunch on a raining day, and were happy to be inside with warm coffee, hot soup, and hearty meals. There were not many people eating in here when we arrived at 1pm, and the place pretty much shut down at 2pm(even though their posted closing time is 3pm). The service was very good, everything we ordered came out quickly and the waitress kept coming back to refill our coffee. It was the perfect little place to stop by and get some food while visiting Fort Bragg!

One of my favorite places in town. Consistently good food, good service. The best breakfast burrito you can find anywhere! The lumberjack… It will hold you up all day long

Nothing extraordinary about this place. They serve basic American food(burgers, sandwiches, fries, etc.) and the portions are pretty sizeable. The service was fast and friendly and there really isn’t anything else to be said about this place.

Scott, Thanks for your response! The paper cups in your restaurant are blue Pepsi soda cups(16oz) with plastic lids and straws. I overheard the girls at the counter referring to them as «to-go waters.» It is actually legal to allow dogs in any outdoor seating area that is not inside the restaurant. Many restaurants and cafes in Fort Bragg have great outdoor seating for just this reason. You should try it! Fort Bragg is known for being a dog friendly town and this would be a great addition to your restaurant. You clearly care a great deal about your restaurant, and I know you will work with your employees to make changes that insure the quality of food and especially of service in your restaurant both improve! — — - Original Review: Food: Our sandwiches were about half the size I was expecting for the price. I ate my BLT in 4 bites. My wife’s veggie sandwich was mostly brown avocado and what seemed like an entire red onion. We might have had a better experience if we’d just gotten pastries and coffee and not tried to eat lunch here. Service: Very bad. There seemed to be some confusion amongst the waitresses about who was responsible for our table. We waited over 30 minutes for our two sandwiches and then when I went to the counter to ask if they were still working on them the lady there said something to the effect of «oh, they’ve been sitting here awhile, I was wondering who they were for!» Over the course of half an hour I literally asked all 4 people working there for a glass of water. Two forgot, one brought me a dish of butter(???) and finally the girl standing at the register brought me a paper cup of water. Dog friendly: Nope. We actually chose this place because it was advertised as dog friendly. I guess the park bench on the sidewalk out front technically counts as dog-friendly seating? Overall: This place was good for a laugh on the drive home, but not much else. I would not eat here again.

Breakfast was great & the kids loved the train. Price was reasonable not cheap but not super expensive. Pancakes here HUGE& good. French toast breakfast was the best. Olalliberry muffins taste like a cross between BlackBerry & blueberry although I know its loganberry. Just how I can describe the taste for those curious. The regular blueberry muffins come with sprinkled sugar cooked on top that was good. Peach muffins were also good. Great little souvenir shops inside same location I especially liked the seashell shop great prices and cute stuff. Minus one star because waitress hardly came to check on us but we were in the back corner booth as there were 6 of us & muffins are not as big as described by other reviewers stated. They are big don’t get me wrong but basically the same as costco muffin size or mimis café. Mimis muffins are still better but these were good, especially the olallieberry. Also kids meals were pricey & didn’t come with much so I had to order my son a regular breakfast but if you had 2 kids id get 1 regular adult basic breakfast & order one extra pancake & let them split it all since the pancakes are huge. We ended up wasting a lot but the kids options would have been too little so no choice.

This is one of the harder reviews to do. Seven of us stopped here in the middle of a 300 mile ride on the 4th for lunch. First negative which is really no big deal. Their store front in actually on Laurel while they have a Main St address. They are actually in a large building with other business’s. Small problem locating it. Server was great. and food arrived quickly. My London broil sandwich was amazing. That seemed to be the sentiment of everyone that got a sandwich. The wife ordered the clam chowder since she doesn’t eat chick, beef or pork. They but Bacon it the chowder. Small problem if at all for most but big for her. I tried the chowder and I may be spoiled but I didn’t care for it either. So this is a GREAT place for MEAT eating travelers that want an amazing sandwich.

I had the french dip with a side of their homemade macaroni and an iced white mocha. Both were very good. The service was pretty good for a busy Saturday afternoon. It was nice to finally find a place to eat a meal in town that was under $ 20 a person. I will definitely be eating here again.

Had an average diner lunch– waitresses were friendly and worked hard to please the lunch crowd. The clam chowder was tasty– a little thick, but good flavor. BLT was average, although very few tomatoes were present. French fries– eh. It seemed like the onion rings were popular here, so I should have ordered those. Raspberry ice tea was very sweet, but the waitress let me switch to regular ice tea with no problem. Overall a nice little café– had a decent breakfast menu as well.

Great service, great food. Meats come from Roundmans across the street which is awesome that locals use other locals to supply their businesses! I love that! We had an amazing vacation here and will definitely be back!

Great breakfast, cheap and excellent service. We had a big breakfast(4 bacon, 2 eggs, hash browns, 4 slices of toast), 1 pancake, 1 enormous freshly made cinnamon role and 2 coffees for under 18 $. Not fat at all and perfectly baked

Recommended by a coworker who has a second home here. Service was ehhh on a not-busy Sunday afternoon. Waited forever to get helped and then we were advised ‘Oh wasn’t told you were my table…’ about 15 minutes into the wait. Ordered the lunch special of a chowder in a breadbowl for 9.95. Chowder was pretty good, not amazing great, had a little smokey bacon thing going on giving it a more golden color versus typical white. The breadbowl should be skipped as it almost seamed undercooked and flavorless. Not the usual San Fran or Monterey Sourdough goodness. The highlight of the meal was the heated pecan sticky bun. To-freakin-die-for tasty.

OMG! This is a tourist spot, right? So my husband and I walk into this deli restaurant. The sign says«Seat Yourself» and so we did. The menu’s were already on the table. When I was done looking at my menu I noticed 2 girls sit at the table next to us. Shortly after they sat down, the waitress gave them 2 waters. We weren’t even acknowledged at this point. My husband asked the lady cleaning another table if we should order at the bar or the deli. She said that someone should be out to take our order shortly. The girls next us, who received their water, was asked to take their order before we were even greeted. We walked out. Too bad… we were hungry and I always give great tips. Are you all prejudice?

My husband and kids love to come here for coffee and muffins. The muffins are big and fresh. We decided to have lunch here for the first time, and it was awful. I think it must have been a bad day, bc all the pictures on here look pretty yummy. We all got fries, and my kids got the corn dogs and chicken nuggets,(all fried) and everything was so over-fried, rock hard, dark brown and totally flavorless. Yuck. The kids didn’t even want to eat it. The fries tasted like cardboard. Plus our waitress NEVER came to check in us. It took forever for her to take our order, then it took forever for her to bring our food, and then we never saw her again. We kept having to get up to ask for things. Never again. I’ll stick with the muffins and coffee to go. That’s why I have 2 stars. The baked goods are always fresh.

An interesting place with a couple of old trains inside the building… I stopped by Laurel Deli to snack. It’s a deli, not a restaurant so its nothing fancy. It’s more like a food court. It was cold so I was craving something soupy and there it was their highly recommended clam chowder. It took a while to get attention from the waitress, but after I ordered my clam chowder, everything went smoothly. Their highly recommended chowder is definitely highly recommended. It was delicious I ate it until I had to scrape the bowl clean with my spoon at the end. It definitely warmed me up after being in the rain all day. It’s too bad I live nowhere near Fort Bragg… or else I would come back for more chowder on cold rainy days.
