We had dinner here and loved it. Great service. Server helped with recommendations when we asked and followed up with confirmations that we were satisfied. Spouse had shrimp and mashed potatoes with an incredible sauce. He felt the overall dish wonderful. I had cioppino which was loaded with bay shrimp and prawns, scallops, clams, cod and vegetables. The sauce/broth was flavorful and very complementary. I loved it. Ending was the spicy Mexican ice cream made by Cowlicks especially for restaurant. Husband was in heaven. Kick and cool together was magic. Highly recommend.

I came to fort Bragg for the weekend with my boyfriend and decided to give this place a try because of the great Unilocal reviews. I couldn’t be more disappointed. When we first walked in no one even greeted us, we had no clue where to go. It was awkward. Then when we finally got seated, it took them so long to finally Ask for our order. Besides dropping off the food, we weren’t talked to once. Customer service is so beyond awful. I ordered the grilled chicken tacos and the water from the beans drowned my whole plate, it was inedible. I was pretty disgusted with the whole situation. It was also so overpriced. I paid $ 17 for that watered down mush. I’m sure some of their food is great. But the customer service is what made me give them a one star.

This past weekend my husband and I decided to try this place for the first time. We ordered the chicken empanadas for appetizers and the chicken fajitas for an entrée. Both dishes were really delicious… But, they really need to learn a thing or two about service. First of all, they brought both dishes together, and when we asked why they didn’t bring the appetizer first, we were simply told«we are serving them together». Ha?!! So we had to eat them together. It’s a family run business and they don’t have a hostess; everyone does everything so there’s no sense of order or good timing. If they can get that under control, things will flow much better!

We decided to go to Mayan Fusion because of the reviews, 6÷21÷2016 My wife and I shared some of the dishes, Mayan clam chowder(excellent), calamari(excellent), crab and cod cakes(very Good), and the Yucatan Cioppino(excellent). All the food was cooked perfectly, especially the Cioppino. There was so many ingredients(shrimp, fish, mussels, etc) in the Cioppino that makes it hard to cook everything just right. The Mayan spices added to all the dishes. Definitely a place to come back to!

I am very impressed by the quality of food, service, and cocktails… so impressed that we are back for a second day in a row. and will probably be back tomorrow before returning to the bay area! my husband had the fajitas yesterday and the enchiladas today… both amazing and with unique twists. I had the Rock Cod entrée yesterday and the King Salmon today… and gain both amazing and fresh. Margaritas were obviously freshly made ingredients! This is our new«go to» spot when visiting Fort Bragg!

Excellent food and service! Thanks to Unilocal,we gave this place a try and wow! The food was amazing. The server was very nice and the food came about pretty quickly. This place doesn’t look like much from the outside, and it is much to see on the inside, but the food and service are fantastic! Full bar. Fresh seafood entries. Cioppino had a curry taste and was so good. Even their salad with jicama and citrus slices in it had a tasty dressing. For dessert, we shared their lava cake with ice cream. Yummy way to end our meal.

Searched Unilocal and found this place when my wife and I stopped for lunch during on our weekend motorbike getaway up the beautiful North Coast. GREAT food(we had their fish tacos) and awesome service! Good local beer selection… But the gem here is their Mayan Spicy Chocolate ice cream! Made by local creamery, Cowlick Ice Cream, this particular flavor is ONLY available at the restaurant… and folks, it’s worth it! We took one bite and looked at each other like«wuuuuuuuuuuut???». The ice cream was so good we ate it so quickly forgetting to snap a photo for this review! Hahaha… Anyway — good place — a little out of the way(which is nice because you don’t have to deal with the traffic/crowds on Main St.) — totally worth it.

Excellent food with large portions. I had the pachucos which were super filling and tasty and my spouse had crispy cod tacos, also very tasty. We also ordered chips with a butternut squash and pumpkin seed purée — yummy. The food is great, the hostess is very friendly, but our waitress was so-so.

After a weekend of gluttony in Portland we ended up at Fort Braggs. Walked in here randomly and wow… Was extremely surprised by how amazing and fresh everything tastes. The creamy clam chowder and rock cod were so delicious. The seared cod had a refreshing ceviche on it that balanced out all the flavors. A1 will definitely be back!

I was looking for a place to have dinner when I did a weekend getaway to Fort Bragg, and this was the first restaurant that popped up. Decided to look no further and that was a great decision. We started with the prawns with curry and that was perfectly fried. The outside was crunchy while the prawn was not over cooked. As for entrees, we share the Cioppino, and crispy cod taco. The Cioppino was one of the best I’ve every tried. What I liked about it was the mix of seafood(fish, scallop, calamari, clams) that was added to it and they were not cheap about it too! The sauce was slightly creamy and a tad bit on the salty side. But overall, it was still really good! The tacos came with rice and black beans, I liked it but honest, its did not stand out.

We are frequent visitors to Fort Bragg as we have family in the area… It is always surprising when we see a favorite restaurant go, or a new one pop up. This trip we ventured into Mayan Fusion. It was a great fresh dining experience. Everything we had was delicious, and everything we saw brought to other tables made me question my order. I’m sharing this review because I’d love to see this place still here next time we are in town for a visit! Try it out!!!

I have experienced the pleasure of golfing on three continents. Can you guess which? Mayan Fusion serves up some of the most inventive and creative dishes inspired by three different continents. From Mexican, to Brazilian and Italian they hit all three like a perfect tee shot. Myself, my wife and another couple popped in on a Thursday evening. I had read the reviews and scoped out the food photos on Unilocal but really had no idea what we in for. Mayan Fusion concentrates on seafood, but those of you(like myself) who hate fishy kind of things will find plenty of offerings. The pork tamales are some of the best I have ever tasted and a portion large enough to share. The service is was friendly, though a little scattered but we were in no rush and were fine with it. The ambiance is very casual, so dress in your most comfortable attires and enjoy a great night out.

I give it a 3.5. Located near the wharf. Great service and food was good, even though I felt like the jumbo prawns were a little over priced. Recommend if you like Mexican/seafood.

Food was flavorful, beautiful, and of high quality. Jumbo prawns were divine. My date had the cod fillet, I tried and it was also very good. I will definitely go back next time I am in town.

We found this place during the town’s annual whale Festival weekend. We had to wait for like 30-minutes outside in the drizzle for a table to open up because it was so crowded, I am not faulting the place for that. They served probably the best clam chowder that I have ever tasted; it was a Manhattan Style Mayan Clam Chowder. Imagine clam chowder and tortilla soup– with extra cream and deliciousness mixed together. I am being completely serious, best soup that I have ever tasted. For dessert I had to try the Mayan Spicy Chocolate Ice Cream made special by Cowlick’s(a local ice cream shop– known for their exotic and delicious flavors). The services was good and the food was all out of this world, well worth the wait.

I don’t hand out five stars very casually. I’m pretty sure I’ve only given a few places a perfect 5, but this place is well deserving. Crab cakes– some of the best I’ve ever had… And I’ve had a lot all over the US. The beats and fresh corn relish, all the seasonings, along with delicious, moist, melt in your mouth crab cakes– delicious! The cod filet with shrimp, fresh veggies and coconut rice were on point. A definite party in my mouth that I never wanted to end. Then the chili chocolate ice cream… What?!! Amazingness!!! It’s a must try. (We did get the nacho appetizer which was unlike the others in that it wasn’t anything too exciting. We will just forget about those and remember the rest of the delectable food.) I’d drive our four hours just to come back to eat here one day!

My friend and I came here after our morning road trip and adventures to glass beach. It’s not far from the beach, but it is down a street towards the crabbing docks. Kind of a cute area with a few restaurants and all the crab pots, reminds of Portland when I went crabbing out in the harbor. The restaurant is a cute little Mayan place with lots of good dishes. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach and wanted a million things. Luckily, I had some control and my friend said I can’t eat that much, which refrained me from ordering the whole menu. The waitress reminded me of one the Egyptian princesses in the movie«The mummy». Here eye make up was pretty cool. What’s even cooler was the food!!! I rely on my fellow Unilocalers and went with the rock cod fillet topped with shrimp bay ceviche. Oh man, it didn’t disappoint! The flavor was on point for my taste buds. First bite was heaven, a piece of the cod, some ceviche, rice, the curry flavor, and a kick to the mouth with the hint of lime. It was a great dish and the portions was pretty big! I finished everything but the rice, a little too much carbs for me. My friend was mesmerized by the looks of the fish tacos and I don’t think she really spoke to me during the meal. Good stuff! Only thing I do remember is that the bean sauce rolled over to the tacos and she didn’t know how to eat it. I think she used a fork and knife. We both recommend this place if you’re in the area and want some fresh seafood Mayan dish.

My family came here after visiting glass beach and we were starving. I ordered the fish taco plate, while everyone else in my family ordered a seafood plate. My family got their meal first and I was left waiting for almost 20 – 25 minutes for my food, and the server just kept saying«your food will be right out.» I was starting to think they were out catching me a fresh fish, but that wasn’t the case. My family was done with their meal when my entrée arrived. That was ridiculous. It wasn’t even busy. There were only 3 tables there. The fish tacos were just okay, I’ve had better and I thought my dish was easier to make than what my family ordered, but my dish came out last. This place was kind of on the pricey end for what you get. I’m pretty sure I’ll never be coming back. Parking– there was ample of parking in their lot, so it was a breeze.
