This place was great. Yes there was a limited selection of comics however they had a great array to choose from. The staff was very knowledgeable and hospitable. It’s a very wide open store, that had a coffee shop up front. All in all a great experience. The reason I gave it a three was that it was more centered around games.

This place is awesome. It has a huge retail space with tons of merchandise and friendly staff that are eager to help. You’ll see several different gaming areas that offer privacy and space and allow for multiple events at once. Pokémon, Magic, Heroclix, Warhammer, Board game nights, they have something from everyone and were always very accommodating at their old location for young kids and beginners. It also has a nice coffee shop that you enter in through with plenty of seating area. It’s much better than the old location and is modern and nicely decorated. This place is pretty much my dream business. Its a shame I don’t live in the area, otherwise this would be my home away from home. If you have never been here before you have to stop and check it out.
My only complaint is that I would love to see some Pokémon art from local artist on the walls where the Pokémon League is held. It would also benefit Gryphon’s to have professional photographs that show off the store and all the spaces on the their official website. Otherwise, people may assume its just another crummy card store and pass on it. I’ve been to hobby stores all around the US and this is by far the nicest and most complete I’ve seen.

I wish they’d just go ahead and drop the ‘and Comics’ from their name. Comics are(and, frankly, have been for a long time) pretty clearly an afterthought for this store that seems to be primarily focused on gaming. Multiple people offered to help us find items while we were looking around. One of those people should have been in the back organizing their(meager, imo) collection of back issues, because when we finally took someone up on that they ended up just spending a lot of time leafing through the remarkably disorganized long boxes. If you’re looking to buy or play games, this is probably a pretty decent spot. If you’re looking for comics, you can find better.

Our first visit to the new location. Café looks nice, main shop floor is kind of empty. New clerk there, someone we’d never seen before. One of our kids grabbed two stuffed animals, which were on a shelf at child height, on the sales floor. The new(to us) clerk, a woman in her early 20s, reprimanded us for letting our child touch them as they were limited editions, and the only ones they had left. Instead of buying them, which we were going to do, we put them back. We also didn’t buy a $ 35 Punisher compilation. We used to go to the old location regularly, as we wanted to support local. We won’t be going back to this one. We will do what most of the rest of world does — buy online.

This place is so much fun! The staff is super friendly every time I come in and always talks with me. The food and drinks are pretty good, and the baristas seem interested in what they’re doing. The café prices are super low, all around 1 – 3 dollars. They have coffee, sodas, bagels, and other baked goods. They just recently opened up they’re new game shop, which has tons of cool games, magic cards, etc. in it. They also have unique art and other neat fan items for sale. I haven’t bought anything there yet, so I can’t speak for the pricing, but I’ll update on that later. The building has several gaming rooms for public use with a collection of games you can rent(I’m not sure how much that costs). The rooms are spacious with large tables to use. Overall, this place is excellent. It is a vast improvement on the old gryphons, and far surpasses any of the other game places in town.
