Ray’s Barber & Styling

this is a joke. Awful horrible hair cut. I’m sure these guys treat their old customers who get the same thing great. They don’t actually know how to listen to a person and cut their hair.

I went to Ray’s today for the first time.
Scheduling: First and foremost, you need to make an appointment, except for Saturday. I called late last week for an appointment on Tuesday. You have to plan ahead but it’s nice to walk in and sit right down at the chair.
Cost: They charge $ 20 for a regular cut. One of the higher prices for a barber shop in town. I imagine they only take cash like most barber shops.
Cut: Ray cut my hair. He was efficient with a light touch. He took his time and did a great job. Good conversation and very friendly, a welcoming experience. Straight razor neck shave and tonic followed by a nice long shoulder massage.
Vibe: Good old school barber shop. Old country playing on the am radio. Ray said he’s been in this spot for 41 years!
Overall: Plan ahead a little to make an appointment, it’ll pay off with a no hassle quality haircut. I’d give them a 5 star rating if the price was a little lower.
Update: the haircut didn’t really hold up after a couple days. It was uneven in a couple places on top. The fade was strong still. Had to bump them to a 3 star due to that.

This is where a man would go to get his haircut. Real barbers, who are excellent at their profession.
