I posted a 5-star review of this place on another review site, but the experience was so good I just couldn’t resist making an account on here and reviewing it here as well(since I see it hasn’t garnered quite as much publicity as other escape rooms in Colorado, which is a shame). This place is amazing. The owner is kind and humble and the puzzles were challenging and creative. My friends and I came to this place after seeing the overwhelmingly positive reviews and we were not disappointed, and afterwards we couldn’t stop talking about how great the experience was. If you’re looking for something cool to do in Fort Collins, this is definitely the way to go.

We had a wonderful time on a cold rainy day at Somewhere Secret solving puzzles and searching for a treasure map. I had never participated in an escape room experience before and I was not disappointed! The creators of this experience did a fabulous job of transforming an historic space above an antique shop into a mysterious and magical space full of challenging clues and fun surprises! Somewhere Secret in itself, is a treasure in the heart old Old Town FoCo.

I took my sister and a friend to Somewhere Secret. There were only the three of us for that time slot, so we were a bit disadvantaged but we had an awesome time! The puzzles were great, the ambiance was perfect for the theme, and we had SOOOOOOOO much fun! I have done others, and this one was very nicely set up with the back story unlike some of the others. I would like to come back and do this again with the hopes of completing all the puzzles. The pricing is donation based, so if you really enjoyed it I recommend you pay a touch over the suggested donation price. Since there is no pre-payment, some people cancel with short notice or don’t show up at all, which is a shame. Your donations help this young entrepreneur to stay in business and to provide a source of entertainment and team building in the FOCO area.

Somewhere Secret was legitimately the coolest and most fun escape game I’ve ever done. Myself and four of my friends drove 2 hours just to try it out and this place doesn’t disappoint! The experience is one you will be talking about for years. The game was challenging, fun, exciting, and spooky! I loved every timed minute of it! I want all of my friends to try it.

This was our first time to try the«escape room» experience. Somewhere Secret is going to be tough to top. Cori did a great job hosting the group and preparing us for the adventure. Once inside the room we were all pleasantly surprised with the level of challenge as well as the attention to detail. We were a group of 5 and each one of us contributed in solving different parts of the obstacles. A true example of no one of us is smarter than the all of us. Upon completion we found it difficult to leave without breaking down the different personal experiences with each other. Cory was very accommodating in providing feedback of our session. Can’t wait for the next adventure!

At some point in each of our adult lives, in the course of a seemingly dry adult day, we summarily conclude that the world would be a better place if we were to engage in childrens’ play. We either stuff those feelings — in an attempt preserve the hard-earned seriousness of adulthood — or we do something that no creative and self-respecting child would do, like go zip-lining. Occasionally, we make decisions that allow us to be creative and playful while leaving our adulthood peacefully intact. That’s what Somewhere Secret is for. To preserve the magic, I’ll spare you the blow-by-blow. Suffice it to say, two others and myself solved the puzzle with a heart-pounding twelve seconds to spare. The design of this place is such that it brings out the unique skillset of each participant. You may find yourself in awe of a previously disregarded colleague, or a snot-nosed cousin you wrote off two holidays prior. I left happy, closer to the friends in attendance, and with renewed openness to the scale and diversity of what we call intelligence.

To put this very simply, if you haven’t been here I don’t know what you are doing with your life. If you are at all in challenging yourself, then this is the place you need to be. This is the best escape/puzzle rooms I’ve been to. The room is amazing and full of surprises. The owners have done a badass job of making this a truly unbelievable experience. The beat thing about this place is that the fun doesn’t stop if you solve the puzzle, because that’s only half of it. If you are good enough to find the treasure map, you actually have to go out and find the treasure, which up until now has not been found by anyone. This room doesn’t have a set price and is run my donations. $ 25 a person is suggested, but we had so much fun we paid $ 30. If you are in Fort Collins you have got to go here!

I have often wondered about the mysteries in this world. Big mysteries. Old mysteries. Clues left in time and in stone. For a time the thought that people had left clues for us on purpose took some of the fire out of, say, the wonders of the world. But something shifted since those days. I got to thinking about what a beautiful gift it would be to create something that engages our minds and our wonder; something which blurry the lines between fact and fantasy, because someone has made their fantasy an indisputably physical FACT.. Somewhere Secret does this splendidly, masterfully. It takes a certain intelligence to solve puzzles What kind of intelligence, then, does it take to CREATE them? If you are a fan of The Room, Myst, Riven… If you love House of Leaves and are still wondering how much of it was true… If you think yourself intelligent and are willing to be tested by a mind possibly greater than your own, with real stakes in a real WALK-INPUZZLE, I doubt you can do better than this place. This Mystery, unlike others contained in a single room or in a finite digital game, extends beyond the walls and into the Greater Mystery beyond! Sadly, I cannot tell you where it leads, as even an intellect mighty as my own fell just short of completing the task. Not to sound braggdiocious, but that says a lot about the difficulty level. That being said, the owner has designed an ingenious method of monitoring the excitement/frustration levels and mediating them with the utmost of care. 2 people can solve this in time, but I recommend at least 4 of your smartest, most adventurous companions. Seriously I can’t speak highly enough. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity not to be missed.

Somewhere Secret is the first escape room that I have ever participated in and I had so much fun. I was really impressed with the amount of work it took to create such an intriguing environment, every inch had something different to explore. The clues were nicely detailed, not so easy as to be boring and not so hard that they were frustrating. It was great to get together with friends and work together to solve the puzzles. I would recommend this experience to anyone looking for a different way to have some fun.

This was an incredible experience! I brought my wife, step-son and his friend to the room as a Valentine’s day secret surprise. We were paired up with two other people we had never met before, but the experience encouraged us to work together and to communicate. We each brought different strengths and ways of thinking to the room, and it helped us find the extra special«treasure map» at the end. The room was full of unique surprises, plenty of things to try to throw you off track, but if you are working together you will be able to figure out the final secret. Unique, challenging and fun!

Go here! This was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had in a long time. The room is beautiful, the game artfully crafted, and the adventure so much fun. It’s absolutely something wonderful to do with a group of friends(or strangers) for an hour. You will not be disappointed… it’s a bit like stepping in to the world of Harry Potter(minus the killer snakes and spiders)

This place is just incredible. It’s one of the most fun and fascinating experiences I’ve had in my life. The puzzles are beautifully designed, and the atmosphere is perfect. It’s like being inside a steampunk fantasy novel(but even that doesn’t do it justice). If you’ve played the iPad game The Room, you’ll know exactly what to expect. It’s like playing that game in real life, which is every bit as great as it sounds. We actually managed to finish the game, and I can definitively say that the last puzzle is as good as the first. The entire experience is a complete victory of imagination. It’s worth way more than the measly $ 25 suggested donation. The best part is that when you solve the room, there’s still one more secret to find out in the real world. We left energized and excited, and we immediately went out to try and figure out this last clue. We’re still working on it, and we’ll be driving back to Fort Collins soon to(hopefully) find the treasure. The game keeps giving you mystery and intrigue even after it’s «over.» Mystery and intrigue are hard to find these days when every bit of information is at our fingertips. Somewhere Secret puts you in a rare headspace of wonder and enchantment(sounds corny, but that’s actually what it does). This place is really a work of art. If you’re someone who loves being intellectually challenged and believes that the world needs surreal dreams in order to stay sane, get to Somewhere Secret as soon as you can.

An intriguing and beautiful journey through puzzles and problems with science, magic and mystery. In the attic room of a historic downtown mercantile, a journey unfolds. Hidden clues, codes, keys, combinations, and skill will lead you to a treasure chest containing a map. Finding the map in less than an hour is just the beginning of the hunt. If you wish to continue the map will lead you to on a treasure hunt searching for a hidden relic somewhere in Colorado! We’ve done a few escape rooms and this one has been the best by far! Creative, mysterious and with a unique flair, it left our group wonder struck! Do not miss this experience.

In FoCo for the weekend(a short stop after skiing) from the east coast. Spending a lazy netflix afternoon in, what could rouse me from my slumber and lure me out of my bed into the cold? By chance, I happened upon Somewhere Secret via the internets. The only open time slot was 8:30pm. So far away and late. We almost didn’t sign up. Which would of been terrible because Somewhere Secret was absolutely breath-taking. You and your companions will be submerged in world constructed from intricately crafted puzzles, riddles, mystery, and mystique. The attention to detail, the visual aesthetic, and creativity of this room are stunning! I cannot believe we almost missed this. When I left, I found myself wondering immediately when I could sign up for my next Escape Room.

Somewhere secret is the perfect level of challenging and rewarding. The space – inside an antique store – really sets the mood. The story behind the treasure hunt is cute, and I liked that the prize at the end leads to a real-life treasure somewhere in the world. Inspires you to keep playing after the game! There are a variety of different types of clues for different types of thinkers, so everyone in our group was engaged the whole time. This was the perfect holiday bonding experience for our family and friends. I’m only bummed I had to go back home to CA and won’t be able to help unravel the real-life treasure(we got into the chest with about a minute to spare!)

What a great adventure this was! Located on the second floor of a suitably ancient building in old town Fort Collins, this room has been crafted with real artistry and in a way that drew all of us in to trying to solve the mystery. If you are new to this kind of thing, do not hesitate to check this out!

The people behind this maze are truly whimsical geniuses! Many other escape rooms have typical themes(bank vault, james bond, etc) but this place is truly unique and worth the visit. Yay for somewhere secret!
