I had a very difficult time finding the Ortlieb Ultimate Handlebar bag online and then discovered Wayne at Thetouringstore. The customer service was unbelievable! He spent time to explain the difference between the Ultimate 6 Classic and the 6 Plus. Then, when I accidentally overpaid him, he caught it and promptly notified me and refunded me the extra money. My order wasn’t a big one, but the way I was treated, I felt like I was spending $ 10,000 at Thetouringstore. I consider myself a loyal person. You treat me right, I’ll keep coming back. I will definitely keep coming back to Thetouringstore!

Best place to buy touring gear. The proprietor, Wayne Boroughs is super responsive and helpful. It’s one of those rare stores where the merchant helps pick what in your best interest, not just to sell inventory. Highly recommended.

Wayne is The Man. I just bought my THIRD set of Ortlieb panniers from him. The original set was stolen… along with my bike. The latest set was needed because due to improper reinstallation of one of my panniers, it got caught in my spoke and tore! UGH!!! Wayne fixed me right up! Great place, great prices!

These guys are great. I had already tried one laptop pannier that didn’t fit my laptop.
They took my measurements over the phone, constructed a mockup of my laptop, and make sure it fit… perfectly!
Great customer service. As an added bonus, they had the best price I could find.

A year and a half ago Wayne helped me get my new bike setup. I had just ordered from the TouringStore and configured a bike with all new panniers and racks The next day the bike was stolen. All of this happened 5 days before a 28 day tour from England to France.
Friends and family came together and surprised me with a money gift to buy my whole setup again. Wayne was key in setting me up the second time too. He made sure I ordered everything that I’d need and that it arrived in time for my trip.
Because of Wayne, friends, and family, I was able to buy a new bike, new gear, configure the bike, and get on the plane to England in less than 5 days.
Now I’m married and going back to Wayne for my wife’s LHT.

There are obviously not enough good reviews here about Wayne and the Touring Store as there should be, however i’m glad to see the others are five stars, as he deserves. I’ve never worked with anyone, in any industry that offers so much care and attention to detail as Wayne. All i needed was a new rack for my Giant and he made certain that we got exactly what i needed the first time. Wayne helped explain everything in crystal clear detail, with no essence of bike snobbery whatsoever to a lamen such as myself. Thanks so much to the Touring Store and Wayne, everyone should be supporting businesses such as this, as i know this is the first place i’ll be visiting any time i need future bicycle related items.

He sells high quality products and won’t try to upsell you, but instead tries to ensure you have exactly what you need for whatever you’re doing, from a cross country trip to simple daily commuting.

I cannot recommend the touring store enough! Wayne has the best prices around, not to mention that’s he’s wicked helpful and friendly! He seems genuinely interested in helping you get the equipment you need to have a successful tour. He also includes some really helpful tips and notes about certain types of equipment.
