Fountain Green Golf Course

Played twilight 9 holes on this course for the second time yesterday – played full 18 holes last fall – it was chilly and a little wet. But the overall course wasn’t in bad shape for the weather conditions we’ve had recently. Last fall when I was visiting I didn’t have my clubs, so rented a set from the clubhouse… definitely wasn’t expecting a «top of the line» clubs, but definitely wasn’t expecting to get «third world country» rejects for $ 25 /​day rentals. And that is what I received, a complete mix match set to make due.
Overlooking the fact of the clubs, I had a day of enjoying time with my son playing a round of golf for his birthday. So, yesterday he returned the favor and we played 9 for my birthday. But yesterday I used a set from his friend – which was better that using the house clubs – the 3 of us got the 9 rounds in as it got dark. The course should be in better shape once Spring kicks in.

All I can say is wow! What a great course. When you compare it to the one on the AF side of the base it really starts to stand out. My only complaint is the guy in the clubhouse. To be blunt, he’s a dick to us younger golfers, but that doesn’t detract from how awesome this course is. A perfect mix of long holes, short, traps, doglegs. this course has them all. Very challenging and very fun.
