Well, we were in the area for a beach day at the state park. It’s too bad that I caved when the hubs said«Let’s try Golden Corral». Service was good, the food was not. When my husband ordered a steak on the grill, it came back tasting like lighter fluid. We alerted our waitress and subsequently a manager came by. He assured us that no lighter fluid was being used, but that it was marinated. He then presented us with $ 2.00 off coupons for our next visit.(which will never happen) The food is not good, the total bill was about $ 30.00 including the buffet and a soda pop per person. The lighter fluid infused steak caused a migraine headache on the ride home. We will never return, and I do not recommend this restaurant.

The only Golden Corral I’ve been to is the one in Westland Michigan. Kind of nasty. Since we were in Port Huron we decided to try it again. I mean Port Huron seems like a totally different place than Westland. Anyways. It was worse. The place is dirty and the food is all overcooked. Why did I even think this was a good idea. I rarely give bad reviews but this place is bad.

Went here on a business lunch. It wasn’t all that busy. I’m a govt employee and was using a tax exempt government credit card. The cashier wasn’t sure how to ring it up, so she called the manager. He was rude and glared at me the whole time, then pointed at my receipt, rolled his eyes and said«wow, you saved less than a buck.» I’ve never had a problem like this at any other restaurant. I normally like Golden Corral but I will never be back to this one. This is standard procedure at every business I’ve ever dealt with when using a government credit card. I wasn’t trying to get anything over on him, and I’m always polite about using it because I know some people aren’t that used to ringing them up. However, this is a chain restaurant that sees a lot of customers and I find it hard to believe I’m the first govt employee to ever eat there. Judging by other comments about management and staff, I’m guessing this is just the way they treat customers.

I’m not a big fan of buffets — but this one is pretty darn good. Always good service — quick to clear plates and refill drinks.(Don’t forget to tip them!!) Best thing on the buffet is their buns … Absolutely outstanding, especially with the honey butter!(You can buy them to go btw!). Lots of fresh options. Always hot food. And you can’t beat the price !!

If you cannot find anything to eat here there is a problem with you :-) Fresh food … lots of southern classics that I do not take the time to make(corn pudding, yams, greens, AMAZING mac & cheese) all for about $ 10/person. ASKTOSITINRICKEY’S SECTION. He is the best darn server in the world :-) What a sweetheart.

Went here for dinner the first night in Michigan. The food was good but the staff weren’t all that friendly. My boyfriend said that we had never been here before and the lady said nothing. We didn’t know where the plates and cutlery were and had to find it ourselves. Would I go back? Possibly but I would go to Ponderosa before going back to this place!

They have a good variety of every type of food you’d want. It’s always fresh and hot and you can watch them cook and prepare at each station. They let us in close to closing time and before taking our money asked us to walk the restaurant to make sure there was enough of what we’d like to eat before paying. There was more than enough! They never rushed us and even offered us free coffee instead of dumping it out. They are usually quite attentive, even when busy. The price is right. My favourite thing really is the food. We eat here about once a month! I would recommend it to anyone that likes a buffet style dinner.

Not a big fan of this buffet. There is a nice selction of food but the everytime I have gone in, it feels crowded. The tables are packed together and it often feels like you are going out to eat to just stand in line to wait for your food.

I am not a huge fan of buffets, but this place is really good. One surprising thing about this place is all the fresh veggies to choose from. My Father-In-Law is vegan(such a shame, I know), and this is one of only two restaurants he will go. They have all sorts of veggies not swimming in butter or cheese, its all on the side so he can go to town on the greens! The price is good too. About $ 10 per adult. You can get steaks, salads, chinese, italian, seafood… and they have some specials that come and go. During lent they have more fish and in the summer they have lots of bbq options. Not a place I want to eat all the time… but it is a good stop if you have picky eaters in the group!

This is an affordable place to have dinner and catch a show. I’ve been a fan of the olé GC since I first stepped in here 4 months ago, and have been a vocal advocate of the establishment’s value for money(VFM). For about $ 10 per person you can have endless steak, ribs, fried chicken, pulled pork, and battered shrimp, all staples of a healthy diet. As for the show, it was quite entertaining to watch a lovely couple have a very public argument in the parking lot. The screams of «I ain’t no b****, I take care of myself! I work seven days a week for my money!» kept me on the edge of my car seat. In a sick way, it made me feel as if I were really in danger, but in a safe and controlled environment. Just get here early or come after 8 pm as there tends to be a huge lineup on the weekends.
