Sometimes all it takes it one sincerely spoken«Is there something I can help you find?» from a sales associate to restore your faith in customer service. That is what happened to me at Target the other night. His name was Mike. What did Mike do? He listened to me. He looked at my phone to get the number of the product that the website listed as in stock, but wasn’t on the floor. He went to the back warehouse and grabbed two bottles of the missing Hawaiian Tropic ® Lime Coolada After Sun Moisturizer. I was so happy, and my sore, split, dry, winter hands were so appreciative! I was tired after a long day of work, and forgot to look at his name tag. I phoned the store, described him, and each person I spoke to on the phone when I was being transferred knew it was«Mike». I was happy to be able to speak to a store manager to let them know how he helped me. I then went online at home and filled in all the right buttons and commented when asked too. I made them aware of Mike too. A job well done for this Target customer.

I love love love the Fort Gratiot Target store. The staff is almost always friendly and the store is clean.

While I generally like Target this particular location is not my favorite. I will say their pharmacy has awful hours but the staff is generally super nice and very helpful. Aside from the pharmacy the only person who is consistently helpful is the gentleman in the electronics department. He always asks if you need help and seems to actually want to give it. Their cashiers are their downfall. I understand Target has a very rigid policy with cashiers regarding their speed. However, it is more times than not at the expense of customer service. I am one of those people that do not like to dilly dally at the checkout. I have my money or debit card ready and just want to leave. I am not someone who slows down a line. I won’t wait until the checkout to ask a question that requires another department answer nor will I waste time writing a check. So you get that I like to be efficient. Well my last experience I had a specific gift card I wanted to use because it had an odd amount on it. I had three cards in my hand. Cashier says give me all the cards. I say I want to use this one first and see how much is on it(I should mention last time I was in there and wanted to do this cashier demanded same thing and didn’t use correct card). She instantly gets angry and says it didn’t have enough on it. I figured it wouldn’t but wanted to use it up. I say I am sorry but she said I just made her take longer(That one second really screwed up things). She kept saying it and I kept apologizing until the point I thought why am I saying I am sorry for wanted to use up a gift card? What is wrong here? I was no longer sorry, I was mad. I then went to customer service(Knowing full well no one would care) but the line was so long I just left. Still stewing I went to my car. Then decided to go back in, line had not moved. So I left. At that point I decided to take a very long break from that Target. And the more I talk to people the more I realize I am not the only one who hates their rude cashiers. Target should just do everyone a favor and put in self checkouts. Let the people do it themselves. That way there are no nasty cashiers ruining your day.

Always an acceptable alternative to going to wal-mart! Then again what isn’t?

This is the Target store in my families home town. I have to give the pharmacy team mad props for always helping me out in a bind despite it being past closing time for them. I make a bad habit of forgetting my prescriptions and they are always more then helpful in getting partial fills. The Ft Gratiot store is fairly large and is the only one in the area. Despite being so large they do not have a large selection of refrigerated and frozen goods as some Target stores do.
