Although I don’t work here, I come here to eat lunch almost every weekday. I love the cafeteria’s central location on post; it’s pretty easy to find and takes up a significant chunk of the hospital’s basement. Since it’s where a lot of people in the building go to get their food, you’ll see soldiers of all kinds of high ranks in this place grabbing a bite to eat. It sure is interesting, although I sometimes feel uncomfortable knowing that there are full-bird colonels here watching me eat. For breakfast, they pretty much have the same stuff all the time. I always get eggs, a biscuit, potatoes, and maybe some bacon or a sausage link. For lunch and dinner, it depends on the day of the week. Some of their entrees like coconut tilapia are delicious. Others like the German food on Wednesdays are absolutely horrible and nearly inedible because of how sour they are. Most of the food is inbetween. They also have a selection of ready-to-eat foods from their refrigerators that they call«grab and go.» Like everything in the hot foods line, they are a la carte and can sometimes be unreasonably priced. Their cranberry almond chicken salad for $ 1.75 is very good, and so is their cranberry chicken sandwich for $ 2.70. Others like their desserts are simply not worth it, especially considering how unhealthy they are. They do use the green-yellow-red system that Army DFACs use for telling you how healthy each item is. Overall, the place is a passable place to get meals, although the prices are quickly racked up if you want to get a lot and be full.

Best Military DFAC on post. It has the awards on the wall to prove it. The prices are just right for a military style dfac. It is Al La Carte and the themes of the main lone and soups changes daily.
