This is my first Unilocal review : Me and a fellow colleague stayed at the Budget Inn South during both the Pro/Super Bowl week there since it was literally only two miles away from the Convention Center where we were working during the day. The hotel itself had very limited amenities(had to «borrow» both the iron & ironing board from the front desk), but we made the best of it since it was cheaper than all of the other hotels in the area due to the NFL event price hikes. Our location provided us within walking distance to everything that we needed from restaurants and diners(IHOP& Pizza Hut), to convenience stores(Walgreen’s) all around us. The big problems were the room up keeps when we were gone during the day. When we returned in the afternoon, it really upset us to know that housekeeping definitely didn’t do their jobs. We were far from messy and cleaned up after ourselves, but not once were our bed sheets changed or our carpets vacuumed, even after requesting that they be done on THREE separate occasions.(The bed’s weren’t never made properly, the sheets were just pulled up and over). NOW throughout the first week we were both wondering where the insects were coming into our rooms at night and tearing up both our forearms and faces. We’d wake up certain mornings reporting to work looking as if we had just sparred with professional boxers the night before. It wasn’t until after we checked the room ceilings and carpets(finding no insects, surprisingly) that I made the discovery during the day while relaxing in the room during a lunch break. Crawling on my shirt while laying on a unmade bed: A huge, fat bedbug. Our beds were probably incubated with their eggs(since they grow so rapidly). Nothing was done by management for the last couple of days that we were there and are only solution was to sleep on top of the covers and on top of towels. It helped us, but definitely did not help my assessment of our overall stay. NEVERAGAIN.
