Our return visit was as good if not better than the 1st dining experience. The only down side is that we can’t dine more often as we vacation only once a year in the area. Mr. N had tacos which were excellent. I had a lamb dish that the flavors and texture were out of this world. Host very amicable and the waitress very helpful. Till next year!

Amazing food and experience. we were in town for a dive trip and this was close to our hotel. We sat at the bar and the entire restaurant was filled! We had the trio ceviche, I had the la Palma salad and my boyfriend had the enchiladas suizas. Everything was amazing! The bartender was attentive despite a packed restaurant and the owner was there working as well. Overall amazing and wish I could be a regular!

Phenomenal service, food, ambiance and an overall amazing experience. The owner is the highlight and certainly the reason for the high and consistent 5 star ratings. He was attentive, personally assisted our party of 5 to a table and explained just about every menu item in an eloquent, colorful manor. The food is in a class of its own. We had the fresh, fragrant and tasty ceviche with all the sauces that it came with. The adobo pork was a stand out performer as well as the steak too. My girlfriend had just graduated and the owner overheard this and as a nice touch, offered a dessert for the table to share. Casa Frida sets the benchmark for all restaurants in terms of high quality service and food that tastes so astonishingly good, that the flavors come to life in your mouth.

We started coming to Casa Friday last year in August. I googled«best Mexican in FTL» and it was one of the results. Since, it’s become our favorite restaurant. We make a point of trying something new each visit and we’ve never left disappointed. Just when I think I’ve had my favorite dish, I try a new one! Their appetizers are perfectly portioned. The main dishes are straight from Mexico. The staff is always kind, the environment is comfortable and adorable. Best place ever.

Our first visit but extremely pleased with the level of and attention to detail. From the refreshing sangria, lobster empanadas, fresh guacamole to our main course, it was all very delicious with wonderful flavors. We will return to Casa Fridas!

Adobo pork as takeout — amazing! Have been reading and experimenting with some Rick Bayless recipes and looking for further inspiration — found it! Great job Mitch and team. We will be back !

I ordered take-out and arrived on time to pick it up. Nobody was there to greet or direct us and we stood there waiting for a few minutes. First I was told to wait outside. Another 20 minutes after that we were told they ran out of take-out boxes and it will just be a couple minutes. 10 minutes after that we got our food. This is not to mentioned the trouble we had ordering originally. The woman we spoke to wasn’t farmiliar with the menu and we had to talk to another person who seemed to be having multiple side conversations while taking our order. Although the food wasn’t bad, the terrible vibe along with the wait made it completely not worth it.

FANTASTIC! I am a huge enchilada fan, and they know what they are doing here! This place is not your average Americanized Mexican food restaurant! This is as authentic as you get!

Any restaurant that has a shrine to Friday Kahlo is alright by me. The shrine has bottles of wine on it, which led to my husband calling it a Shrwine, lol. But I digress. They did not have what I ordered(stuffed poblano peppers), and I’m ok with that… except that it took them a good 10 – 15 minutes to figure out they didn’t have this menu item. Which, again I understand… except we got there well before the lunch rush. The place was empty at the time we placed our order, so I wondered why it took them so long to figure out they didn’t have it. Anyway, I ended up ordering the quesadillas because I wasn’t in the mood to eat meat that day, and this was the only other veggie option on the lunch menu. The dish was rather nondescript and I don’t feel it was a good representation of the restaurant, so I won’t use it as a basis for my review. I will say this: the cabbage soup they served us before the main meal was really, really good. The rice that accompanied the main dishes was also really, really good. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. They also offered us Agua Fresca; I had the sorrel and next time I will definitely try the cucumber-lime the server recommended. A man who seems to be the owner or manager took over serving tables when the lunch rush did come in. The service was pleasant, friendly, and professional. Having lived in Mexico City for a couple of years myself, I can say the décor feels rather authentic. And the walls are lined with photos and paintings of Frida Kahlo… Sold! I will definitely go back here for Mexican food because the food was clean in the sense that it doesn’t taste like it is full of msg, salt, or grease. Speaking of, the kitchen looked sparkling clean from where I was sitting. All in all it was a good experience and I will go back.

This is really authentic Mexican food. The food was exellent, the restaurant is cute but the service was exceptional, Raul was our server and he was very nice and informative about the food and events they hold at the restaurant. Definitely be back.

I had a decent experience here, not great. Friendly service, but constant up selling is annoying and I won’t be back. I asked for a draft beer and was told only bottles. Was asked 2−3x if I want a margarita. I kept saying no. Asked 2−3x if I want an appetizer after sitting for 15 – 20 min. I kept saying no and was finally brought some chips and salsa. Nah.

Best Guacamole ever! Try the hibiscus water. Service was slow as ever but the food was legit. I can tell they care a lot about how their dishes are prepared. Not too Vegan friendly though. I asked for a substitution and the waitress told me no at first. It was as if I asked for her first born. I think it’s worth a visit but plan to be there awhile.

Tried out this spot for cinco de mayo with a friend. Loved their cucumber lime margaritas and fajitas! Definitely would recommend this place if you’re looking for a good Mexican place in Fort Lauderdale. Friendly staff, fresh ingredients, and they know how to keep the tequila coming. Total winner!

Well, someone in Broward has done it! This fine establishment can crank out pretty authentic Mexican food with a fun atmosphere and friendly service to boot! Constantly in search of decent Mexican food(forget about Tex Mex, it just doesn’t exist here), we tried this place on a desperate whim. I’m glad we did because it was a great dining experience and one that we will certainly add to the rotation. Priced right(in comparison to Eduardo de San Angel which also prepares amazing Mexican inspired dishes but remains too high of a price point for casual get your fix Mexican food), and perfect for a casual evening, Casa Frida is a great Mexican restaurant. The menu is pretty large, with options to satisfy most any craving. My husband had mole enchiladas and licked his plate clean. I skimped this evening and opted for one of their soups(as I shared with the hubs), which was equally delicious. Husband also had a margarita which was quite tasty. The interior is adorably decorated, but does fill up quickly so a reservation is recommended… or an early night out! They have outdoor seating, which we took, but the view leaves much to be desired as it is of US1, but it’s good for toddlers ;)! I highly recommend trying this delightful gem if you’re looking for some delicious Mexican food!

Was visiting Ft. Lauderdale for the first time since moving from California to Florida. My experiences finding Mexican food in Florida has been pretty sketchy and far between. Only a couple restaurants have even come close to what I’m use to. Hold on, that has now changed. Casa Frida Mexican Grill and reviewers on Unilocal nailed this one. It was the best Mexican food I’ve had in the state of Florida. Now, I haven’t eaten everywhere, but you won’t be disappointed. The establishment is clean, well decorated, and the staff aims to please. Chef is out behind the counter, out in the open. Chips and salsa was killer. Fresh chips, and a mix of hot, mild, green, etc salsa to sample. I had the red enchilada, rice and beans. Not really what you’d think of as your typical enchilada, rice and beans, a more authentic, finer dining kind of thing happening. I went for lunch and the only thing that could possibly be a negative would be parking for dinner, but it would be worth the short walk. Heck, there may be parking in back. I have no idea if this would even factor in, but thought I’d mention it. If you like Mexican as much as I do, check this place out, it’s worth a visit. Can’t wait to go again. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Gus and I were having a craving for Mexican and I remembered that my favorite taco from Unilocal’s Food Fight Finale was the taco from Casa Frida! That made the decision easy. When we arrived the dining room was pretty packed. They asked if we had a reservation and we didn’t(pro tip — get one on Saturday night!) but they had tables available outside. This location is essentially in a strip mall, next to a liquor store, on US1 so it can be a little noisy outside, but the restaurant has tried to spruce it up with a trellis and some outdoor lights. I’d probably try to eat inside or at the bar next time because people waiting for tables were crowding my personal space and eyeballing my every bite. I ordered three tacos which could be mixed and matched from chicken, beef, steak, and carnitas. I tried carnitas, steak, and chicken(ranked in order of deliciousness). The tacos came with yellow rice and beans. My husband ordered the conchita pibil which is a roasted pork dish wrapped in a banana leaf. It was served with delicious picked onions and tortillas and rice and beans. It was really flavorful and the portion size was huge. We also shared the house guacamole and chips. It was served with red salsa and a crazy delicious green tomatillo salsa. I could literally eat that green salsa on everything. I want some right now! Guess we will be back soon!

What can I say about this place other than I want to take the chef to my house!!! I have learned to eat real Mexican food since I embarked in my love journey with my husband nine years ago, so I feel pretty confident to say this is the real deal! I love everything about this place! The décor is right on point with the Frida Kahlo and the Day of the Dead theme. The colors are vibrant and I absolutely adore they have an «altar» at the back of the restaurant for Frida. Now, to the food! On this particular visit we ate like little piggies and ordered lots of food. For starters we got some guac, cheese and plantain empanadas and some fried chorizo. The guac was amazing, and here you could tell it was homemade and did not come from a bag. The empanadas were out of this world! I have had the cheese and plantains before, but never inside an empanada, and let me tell you that is probably the best invention ever. The mix of the saltiness of the cheese, combined with the sweetness of the plantain and the crunchy dough from the empanada, created the perfect balance of flavors. As my main dish I ordered the carnitas flautas, and my husband ordered the Chile Rellenos. Both of these dishes were simply perfection. The pork in my flautas had that amazing taste of the chile ancho, and the flautas were wonderfully fried. My husband dish was hands down the best Chile Relleno I have ever tried in my life. I have eaten this dish in Mexico, but nothing like this one. The chile was stuffed with a mix of veggies and ground beef along, and the chiles were battered and fried, and drenched in a red sauce that made the whole dish a religious experience. After that we had to throw the towel and skipped on dessert, but I am ready to get some next time I visit them. If you haven’t check them out and you love Mexican food, this place is a MUST!

La comida está más o menos los precios son altos y el dueño es un pesado y para terminar los cocineros no son mexicanos …
