It’s $ 3.00 Tuesday but I opted for the Bacon Melt for my first time here. It was so worth it! Scrumptious airy sour dough, perfect blend of melted cheese, tomato and bacon and I additionally ordered a side of spicy tomato soup that was so perfect for dunking said sandwich in. A very clean little establishment with a quite agreeable staff made this a place worth returning to.

Came here a few weeks ago with my mommy friends after a long walk with our babies, 3 of us ordered the veggie/portobello melt — it was absolutely delicious and all the ingredients tasted fresh! The manager or owner also surprised us moms with a sweet treat and gave us two jumbo chocolate chip cookies complimentary ! We all thought that was very sweet! Thank you!

Good, but not great grill cheese. Ok for lunch. Nice employees. Eat outside if you can or your clothes end up smelling smokey and greasy.

Arrived at the daily melt and was greeted by a kid who didn’t know how to smile. Seemed like the only employee. I asked if I could modify the veggie frittata to which he said yes. He was painfully unfriendly. Not rude, but obviously elsewhere or annoyed that he had customers. He went to make my and my associates sandwiches and it took forever. At some point I looked up and saw a new associate working as well, but they were mopping up the floor, after spilling something. We then saw a lovely lady standing in the doorway looking upset. The employee made eye contact with her and stopped Working and went outside to talk to her. They walked off. A few minutes later he walked back in and worked to finish our sandwiches. All in all, took forever. Sandwiches were mediocre. Hot but flavorless. My friend said his was«decent». And they don’t validate parking.

I don’t normally go out for sandwiches, but I’ve been here twice in one month. We always have excellent customer service. The turkey club sandwich is good. Their soups are nice. Customer service is always on point.

This review may be tainted by something that happened at the end which I will get to at the end. Going to the Parker Playhouse and having a groupon we decided to go to the Daily Melt. I tried to get the hours but couldn’t find them though I did see something about being open ‘morning, noon and night’ so we figured we would chance it as there are many restaurants in the Playhouse area just in case this was closed. We figured getting there around 6 we shouldn’t have a hard time finding a parking place in the middle of downtown, WRONG!!! There weren’t any meter spots open and the garage fees are outrageous. We did luck out about 3 blocks away. When we approached the DailyMelt we noticed it was in the middle of a not so lighted street but there was a flow of driving and walking traffic, the latter people going to their cars to go home. There wasn’t anything on the front about hours but the place was lit and there was a young lady behind the counter. I distinctly got the feeling the place closes when the business ends. The time we were there one other customer came in. I don’t know if the late business warrants it being open after lunch. It is another upscale fast food place where you are serving yourself. As far as I could see the whole time we were there the lady behind the counter was the only employee there. I ordered the Turkey Club melt($ 6.95) and added the«full melty» for $ 2.95 which included a soda and a bag of chips. The melt came with bacon, Swiss, Roma tomato and basil aioli on sourdough bread. They did talk about their pickle bar but it either had been taken down already or not even put up to begin with. I did ask about it but the bottom line is that it wasn’t available. The melt was no better or worse than other club melts I have had. Allen ordered the Chicken Cordone Bleu melt($ 7.95 plus the $ 2.95 addition) consisting of the chicken, ham, Swiss and special mustard on French Demi. He wasn’t very impressed with it and was the first time I can remember him not finishing a sandwich. With the groupon, for which I paid $ 12 for $ 20 worth of food we about broke even not counting a tip Allen left her. The food was okay but without the groupon it certainly wouldn’t have been worth it and I know I won’t be going back. Okay, now my gripe. As I said as far as I could tell she was the only one working in the restaurant. The door was wide open and it was very easy to see inside. Whether it is company policy or, as would be normal, she wanted to close up and leave as soon as we left, she started counting the receipts and the bank. All I know is I saw a load of bills and too many rolls of coins to count. Most of the money was in a clear plastic container. We are downtown where at 7PM traffic has almost disappeared, it is dark outside and anyone could have walked in and taken the money and, hopefully, not harm her. The door should be locked, all the customers out of the restaurant and the counting of the money done in the back of the house or she should have a co-worker with her! I don’t want the young lady to be fired if she is not following a policy I am not aware of but neither do I want her to be hurt or possibly killed if this continues. It is the world we live in.

Chocolate chip cookies the size of dinner plates! Variety of bottled beverages like amber ale besides the coca cola bar. Nice. I had to stop nearby and was hungry as usual. I saw this place and stopped in. Jazzy my server was friendly and fast. She helped me make an excellent selection of the garden melt with portabella mushrooms etc. Fresh ingredients, store was clean, food tasty and the staff nice. What more could I ask for in a quick meal. Oh it was less than 10 bucks!

Went here last week to give it try. The sandwich was good. I had the Bacon Melt. Pretty simple, no special orders and to go. Took about 10 mins with only two people who were obviously sitting waiting before me and two picks up and the sandwich was REALLY delicious but it’s lunchtime dudes… a lot of people don’t WANT to be sitting around waiting for you to make a 10 minute sandwich. Subway is right across the street. So today when my boss was staying in the office for a conference call and asked me to order him in lunch I suggested Daily Melt. Called his delivery order of a sandwich and soup and was very explicit about what he wanted and had the order repeated back to me and was told it was to be delivered in 30 mins to 45 mins. Almost an hour later no lunch was forthcoming… my boss is a hungry guy and I know that hungry guys are not happy guys so I call Daily Melt to check on a sammich… it’s holiday season… nobody is at work in the area so what’s the delay? Sammich guy is on his way. Yay for me. 10 mins later he arrives(let’s just say right here that I can take a 15 min lunch, walk over there and order a sammich to go and be back in my office within the 15 mins). NOSOUP ARGH…this makes ME look like a fool for suggesting this place. Granted, the soup arrived in five minutes(took almost an HOUR for the sammich and yet 5 mins for the soup) and he LOVED it all so no problem with the food. A two block delivery should NOT take over an hour for a grilled cheese sandwich and a ready made soup… which was forgotten.

Great concept. Freshly made to order sandwhiches. An awesome little pickle bar and best of all: really good service. Found this place on a whim through Groupon and am glad I did. Will definitely come back as well as check out the Miami locations. The chips were the largest side-sized of any sandwich place and they were pure awesome. Another plus is the value: $ 10 for really wholesome lunch. Highly recommend!

Came in here about week ago on a Sunday. Nice location downtown. So I can imagine during the week it is really busy during lunch. I was greeted when I came through the door. Took me awhile to order since it was my first time there and the staff understood. Some places rush you still even though it’s your first time. The sandwich I had was good… one of the girls there recommended it to me. HOWEVER, that«shot» of soup they offer? Ehhhhh that’s kinda of ridiculous to offer that along with a meal. Should be a bigger size. Overall if I was in the area again, I would eat here.

A true test of a fast food joint for me is to see what it is like during off peak hours. When I walked up, one employee was taking a break at one of the outside tables. He greeted me warmly as I walked in… And then the smoke hit me. It was so thick I thought I’d just missed an actual fire. I joked with the cashier that I must’ve shown up during cleaning time, to which she replied«I was just bored». Understandable as it looked as if I was the first customer in hours. That being said, the place was a wreck. Besides the literal cloud of smoke, most the pickle jars were empty, napkin holders were completely empty, and there was a tall pile of sandwich boxes on one of the tables. I had to wait outside while they made my sandwich due to the smoke. I had the Royal Roast Beef, which by the way was very good. I do recommend them for the food, but don’t go at 3pm or you may need an oxygen mask.

Hmm where to start with the Daily Melt. We found this place by purchasing one of their Groupon deals and decided to go one night for dinner. We arrived and found parking easily on the street that is metered parking. Walking in there were a few people but not many. We stood looking at the menu for a minute then just stood there some more. Two people were working behind the counter and neither of them decided a «Hello» was necessary. Finally, the lady that was making a sandwich told us that they had no more butter left but she could use spray butter. No big deal! Still nothing from either one of them, mind you that we were in clear view of the guy working behind the counter but he couldn’t be bothered by helping us. Again… Still waiting and finally the lady tells the guy if we are ready to take our order. «Oh hello, welcome to the Daily Melt». It was like a lightbulb went off in his head. He asked what we wanted and we both ordered. Oh but wait, along with the butter there is now no soup or pork. Wellll then I guess we will go somewhere else. Okay, now second time around. Walked into find it still very slow but atleast the guy working had more customer service skills. We ordered and took our seat outside on their patio. The pickle bar wasn’t set up so we didn’t get to try any but our sandwiches came out in a timely fashion. I ordered the Garden Melt that has Portabella, smoked Gouda, Roma tomato, baby spinach, and basil pesto on multigrain bread. It was pretty good but nothing amazing. My husband ordered the Turkey Pastrami Rueben(which is suppost to be their best sandwich) he barley ate any of it. The rye bread was not good, turkey had no flavor, and the pickles that were on the sandwich were not likable. So after all of our troubles I doubt we will be returning. They do have a good selection of craft bottled beers but if you are looking for a good grilled cheese this is not the spot.

Mehhhhh-lted cheese. How can you screw up cheese and bread toasted on a fancy George Foreman panini press?! Had such high hopes for Daily Melt. I wanted to add them to my weekly lunch rotation badly. As if I need another excuse to eat more cheese! Maybe my not-so-good experience here is an indication that the universe is trying to tell me something — less cheese, more salads perhaps? For my birthday, yes, the day I celebrate my birth each year, I decide to indulge in some comfort food. The vast array of pickles on the pickle bar intrigues me further — chipotle lime, mojo, garlic etc. None of which end up rocking my world. Since it’s my birthday, my co-workers are buying. I order one of the more expensive specialty sandwiches, the turkey reuben($ 8). The restaurant starts to become busy and I wait… wait…and wait some more for my sandwich. I munch on mediocre pickles from the pickle bar to try to get my stomach to stop growling. By now the sandwich makers start to get really overwhelmed and stuff is just being haphazardly delivered all over the place. I get my birthday sandwich finally and it’s seriously underwhelming. Turkey pastrami(ok), cheese(ok), tiny bit of sauerkraut(ok), swimming in dressing(meh). Hoping to take a bite and say, «Cheesus Christ, this is GOOD!» But, I guess I’ll have to hunt down the whereabouts of the Ms. Cheesious food truck to get my next cheesy fix. Daily Melt is a cool concept, but they need to work on their execution.

Good spot to grab a quick bite to eat. Food is very fresh. I had the turkey pastrami with a «shot» of Manhattan Clam Chowder. Everything was hot and freshly made. Be sure to check out the free pickle bar! Service is a little bit slow during the lunch rush, but that’s to be expected. Another drawback: hardly any parking. It’s all street and there’s all of 6 spots in the area, so around lunchtime, forget about it. Overall: for a quick bite when you feel like some grilled cheese — give it a try!

We went here on a Sunday morning for lunch. We were in the area for the Farmers Market and had plans to eat somewhere else, but they were closed. Daily Melt was right across the street and after checking out their menu we decided to give it a shot. I mean, it was a grilled cheese place! I went with the Maple Bacon Melt and it was delicious. They also had a Coca Cola Freestyle machine which made me VERY happy. I’d been in town for three days and hadn’t been able to find Dr Pepper at ANY restaurant we’d been in. I was doing the happy dance when I saw this machine and the various DP options available. They had two ladies working and the service was quick. The sandwiches don’t come with any sides, but they are HUGE and you really don’t need a side. The restaurant was cute and very clean. They have an outside seating area as well with umbrellas. The temperature was starting to inch its way up, so we chose to sit inside.

Went here on a Sunday for lunch with my boyfriend. We’re on a quest this month to try out only new to us places. The place is nice, clean, airy and roomy. You can sit inside or outside and not feel crowded. We got there at about 1pm and they must’ve had a rush of people because they were out of quite a few items. In the end my boyfriend had the Garden melt sandwich and I got the Turkey Club sandwich. It took a while to get our food but to be fair, there were a lot of people there. Also, while we ordered our sandwiches together they came out at very different times with other people’s food coming out between our sandwiches. I think that’s something they could work on. All in all, the sandwiches came out looking good and tasting good too. I had read reviews prior to going commenting on the size of the sandwiches being small. I would say they’re about average size for a sandwich. And my boyfriend walked away full as well. I almost felt there was too much turkey, but I like a balanced proportion of meat to veggies. The pickle bar is an interesting fun extra. Overall, we enjoyed the food and would go back and give them another try. Hopefully they’ll get the few links they have worked out soon.

Came to Daily Melt on our first full afternoon in Ft. Lauderdale by accident. We couldn’t find our first choice but this looked good too. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork melt sandwich with classic tomato soup. The service was perfect. Everyone was friendly and our food only took about 5 minutes to come out. They have a great selection of different pickles; we tried all 7 but after 3 they all started tasting the same. My sandwich was great; the meat was tender and the French bread was a great match. My friends went with more traditional melts and were very satisfied. The soup was ok, not really needed though. I would love to come back and try breakfast. They even give 25% off cards!

I went here for lunch with my co-workers ! The sandwiches took I while but once we got them they were good! The only reason I give this place 2 stars is because of the rude manager they have! He speaks super condescending to his staff and also we witnessed somebody that came in to work on the coke machine, the manager was so rude to him in front of customers when he was there to do his job! Not a very professional atmosphere!

A few weeks ago I was wandering around downtown Ft Lauderdale and I was hungry. I was about to go to Subway(last resort) when I looked across the street and saw the Daily Melt. It was time for something different. I ordered a Bacon Melt on sourdough. If I wanted to, I could’ve gotten soup or salad as a side. I thought it was going to take forever to get my sandwich, but it only took several minutes. And it was bomb diggity! There is even a pickle bar that has 6 or 7 different flavored sliced pickles. My favorite pickle was lemon ginger! I really enjoyed eating here: it was bright, airy, clean and I LOVE anything with cheese! I went on the Daily Melt’s website and I was disappointed that this chain is only in southern Florida! Is there anything similar in the Northeast?! There’s nothing like having a hot grilled cheese sandwich and a bowel of soup on a cold winter day!

OK, here’s an update. Round 2 here was awesome and earned it another star(averaging the 2 visits). I’m a guy, so of course the world revolves around bacon(well, and also my wife and kids). And truffle oil makes the world a better place. So I had to try the White Truffle Bacon Cheddar. I’m simply going to say it was one of the best sandwiches ever. EVER… The bacon was crispy(thank you… limp bacon $ucks) and if you’ve ever enjoyed truffle oil on fries, then you need to try it on a sandwich. I still think $ 8 for a sandwich(their most expensive) is a bit much, and then $ 3 for chips and a soda thus totaling $ 11+ will continue to hurt their traffic. But now I want them to survive here… No, I am not a cheap SoB(check out where some of my other reviews are from), but you need to weigh both value and flavor/quality in any meal out. That sandwich was outstanding… My original Review: The sandwich was very good, albeit a tad small for the guys. I think they’re going to have trouble surviving once their newness wears off. $ 7 for a sandwich, without fries and/or a beverage or sides will have some trouble in this area. With a Subway, fast mexican/burrito, mini diner and a great food truck within a 1 minute walk, and several other«quick and easy» restaurants within a 5 minute walk, they’re going to have some trouble in the long run. I see another reviewer liked the breakfast. We’ll give that a try next time.
