I absolutely hate the idea of getting my eyes checked. The thought just scares me. I was lucky enough to get this recommendation to this local optical, I met someone by the name of Melanie(name may be spelled wrong). She changed my view on things… Literally and figuratively! I never felt so comfortable and relaxed and her expert advise had me looking fashionable instead of dorky. I would recommend this place to everyone! They have a wide variety of luxury frames, but the experience alone is worth the visit!

Great office, friendly staff, and the doctor was thorough and professional! Very down to earth and very knowledgeable. Melanie on the optical side very nice and helpful. Helped me find a very stylish pair of glasses within my budget! Definitely will go back.

When you enter the building you’ll find that Downtown Opticians is split between two offices, one one the left and the other on the right. The office on the right is where you’ll find the front desk, where Dr. Atlas does his exams and is where the contacts(and there’s a whole lot of them) are stored. The office to the left holds the glasses and sunglasses that they offer. Every staff member is polite, courteous and friendly. Dr. Atlas is personal, knows what he’s doing and I get the impression that he also enjoys his job. I always feel a little nervous getting my eyes checked(never know if my prescription is about to change) but Dr. Atlas put me at easy from the beginning. As I’m a new client, he asked me a little about myself and then started cracking little jokes with me during the exam. Dr. Atlas is the only optometrist on site, so while you’re getting your examination you might be shuffled around with other clients. For example, my exam started while another client was waiting for her eyes to fully dilate(in the waiting room). Then while my eyes were getting dilated, I waited in the waiting room and she went into the examination room to finish. This didn’t bother me at all, but something to consider if you think this would be annoying. The only thing I didn’t like during my experience was that I was repeatedly asked if I wanted to look at their sunglasses even though I told them I was happy with what I had.
