Oh my! Amazing pies! The lunch special shrimp curry is epic. Place is immaculate, good vibes. Only negative is two tables. They must of turned 40 people while there. Gold mine!

4.5STARS Being Jamaican has its perks, for instance Jamaican’s were voted the 3rd coolest Nationality in the world . Famous Jamaicans like Usain Bolt Shelly Anne-Fraser and Marcus Garvey have made Jamaica to be known in some of the most remote places in the world. Jamaica is also famous for producing the worlds highest grade coffee(Blue Mountain coffee) and«Marijuana». But dubiously being Jamaican also has it’s annoyances, for example you always have some suspected Devry graduate who think all Jamaican’s are Rastafarians. Then you have the geniuses who assume all Jamaican’s smoke marijuana. Then most annoyingly you always have at least one Jack-tard who ask’s a Jamaican, «what does bumble-claude mean?» But nothing encapsulates being Jamaican more than the Jamaican Patty, a delicious simple spicy empanada like juicy pastry that has proliferated around the world to become Jamaica’s self-appointed honorary consul. Hotpie doesn’t disappoint, but let me preface with this, no Jamaican bakery outside of Jamaica can make pattys like in Jamaica. But Hotpie comes as close as your going to get in South Florida in getting a delicious tasting patty. Trust me if you try a «Juici» or «Tastee» brand patty in Jamaica you’ll feel like you’re on cloud 9. Hotpie is located on the same block as Airport Economy Parking off of Anglers ave. Look for the Jamaican-like sign, this sign is so typical of the signs you see in Jamaica. There’s only two ways someone is going to find out about Hotpie, by word of mouth or Unilocal. Why? Because they are located in a commercial area way off the beaten path. But I like the location, because unlike the patty shops in Lauderhill and Miami, I don’t see any of the typical local ragamuffin’s or other undesirables frequenting the place. A majority of the people patronizing Hotpie are people who work in the vicinity. Pattys offered: $ 1.50/each. Spicy Beef, Mild Beef, Curry Chicken, Jerk Chicken & Vegetable Patty. They also serve a daily changing menu.
Some of the menu items are Curry Chicken, Brown Stew Chicken, Fried Chicken, Ox-tail, Curry Shrimp, Red Pea Soup, Tuna Wrap. Jerk Wrap, Jerk Chicken, BBQ Ribs And Chicken Soup etc. Prices are between $ 5 and $ 9. They also sell commercial drinks as well as delicious in house made juices like Ginger Pineapple, Pina Colada, Lemonade and Sorrell etc. So far I’ve tried the jerk, chicken & vegetable pattys, all three of them were juicy and full of flavor. What I love about these pattys is unlike most of the patty shops in the tri-county area, they don’t give you heartburn or sit in your stomach for hours on end. 4STARS The food here is delicious! I really enjoy it. I’ve had the Curry Shrimp, Brown stew Chicken and Curry chicken. Of the three I enjoyed the Curry shrimp the most, Curry Chicken second and brown stew chicken third. All three dishes were delicious, spicy and robust. Everything is cooked daily, so there’s no refrigerated microwaved left overs from the previous day. 4.5STARS ++there about 7 parking spaces in the front, but you can also park in the back of the building if it gets to crowded. ++they wholesale frozen pattys ++they take all CC’s – this is really a takeout facility as there are only two tables in the back if you wish to dine in

Best kept secret for hot pies. Parking is atrocious, especially around the lunch hours.

On top of being one of the only authentic Jamaican restaurants close enough to my workplace, it also seems to be one of the Jamaican restaurant that cares about good customer service. Today I went to get my usual(DELICIOUS!) fried chicken and was told I had to wait«ten minutes»…only to be told about 15 – 20 minutes later that they had run out of rice and peas(TRAGEDY!). I felt like my world had screeched to a halt, and despite my decision to not complain, it must have showed on my face bc the cashier was nice enough to give me my patties and coco bread for no charge at all. Today was truly a momentous occasion, and felt the world should know. Thank you Hotpies for your good food and service.

The spicy patties were a good heat level. Not over the top but savory! There was also oxtail available to eat — additional deli special changes day to day. The patty dough was baked well but I have had better in other bakery places — but it reminds me of Jamaican Beef Patties mass produced — but of better quality. I work eat these patties again. 3 patties and 1 coco bread $ 6 — great deal. Coco bread was delicious

I personally enjoy going to lunch at Hot Pie… I have been going there at least once a week for the past year since I work around the corner and find the food to be rich and tasty. The food varies daily as far as the lunch specials are concerned but I know I won’t be disappointed with the selection I make. Hot Pie had put together a bowl as one of their specials and it was so delicious! It was a chicken bowl with rice and fresh vegetables and I believe there was even a touch of fruit in it but it was sooooo good! Whenever I go to Hot Pie I feel as though I am in the right place to eat as there is always a line, so to me that means they are doing a good job! The cook, the young lady working the front counter, and even the owners are always so pleasant and work hard to make sure everyone has their lunch in a timely manner. The environment has grown as much has been improved over time: the food selection has improved, the parking lot has improved, there is a little sitting area now and I recently saw a plan posted for expansions they will be doing in the near future. I see great things coming soon for this family owned business and will always be an avid supporter.

Nice beef patties nice place on the inside the lunch special is retarded they only have oxtail and curry chicken and a tuna wrap the oxtail is 10 dollars and the curry chicken is 7 dollars that isn’t a lunch special at all and curry goat doesn’t get cooked until Friday this isn’t a authentic Jamaica restaurant when you go to a Jamaican restaurant the menu should sound like this oxtail, curry chicken, stew chicken, bbqchicken, jerk chicken, curry coat, stew fish, escovitch fish, and a daily soup, they don’t have a full menu and the location is really bad for business I mean who thought of this this place is only good for a quick beef patty and this is a fellow Jamaican !!!

We stopped here after arriving at FLL airport. The place was just in front of the economy parking. We were starving and we were glad they were open. The Jamaican patties were very good although a bit dry. The place seemed very organized and the service was quick. They serve also Jamaican food but we only tried the patties. I’d stop by again if I’m on the area.
