I love to find dive bars on my travels and I found this gem just a block away from my home sweet temporary Ft. Lauderdale home. My favorite part about dive bars is the relaxed«we all know each other» feel that everyone seems to take on when they cross the entrance. I don’t know if it’s caused by the booze or the aroma, but I like it. The Hut encompasses the dive atmosphere perfectly. Strangers become instant friends talking to each other, playing darts, pool, or that… whatever that sliding puck game thing is along the wall. Great prices, even better happy hour prices. Acceptable bathrooms. Decent location. I could use the music a little lower, but maybe I’m just getting older. FYI, it is a smoking bar, so don’t bother coming if you have sensitive eyes or respiratory system. Also, no taps, so if you have a selective taste this may not suit your tongue. Best part, the personalities of the staff. I know it takes a special someone to placate the personality of a drunk person, but these guys do it well. Worst part, wtf is up with the popcorn? I think it may have been made in 2012. Nastiest part is when you’ve been drinking and you get a bowl to try, you keep inadvertently grabbing some for a taste, just to be reminded all over again of its hideous staleness.

Love this place! Affordable dive bar. Great people. You’d be crazy to stay in the area and not check this place out.

«Mommy make it stop !!!» This is the smelliest, moldiest, crudest bar in Florida. It reeks of old spilled booze, BO, and cigarettes smoke. Stay away — unless you like the seedy underside bar scene. I actually think that if you have s full set of teeth — they ban you from this place.

The HUT is one of our favorite watering holes! A true dive bar off the beaten path and a locals place! Good people, no drama, and lots of fun. EJ the DJ on the weekends is the coolest. If you want to go out and get your drink on you won’t be disappointed here. Great drinks, shuffle board, darts, pool what more could you want!!!

Great casual spot for drinks, music, and good people. This is one of the fantastic little places that makes Ft Lauderdale bearable. See Denny for the best service going, see E. Jay the DJ for the hottest jams the world has ever seen, and see Zero if you like inappropriate touch or you wanna swap sex industry notes…

The Hut is one of Fort Lauderdale’s oldest and coolest dive bars. Awesome bartenders, lots of tvs, and free popcorn! Go in and play what I like to call the«Hut Olympics» — pool, darts, shuffleboard, and jenga. They also serve burgers and hotdogs on weekends till 4:30! A great place to grab a drink or 10 on any day of the week.

Went there with my friend who says«The Hut» is his favorite spot. I can see why, it is non-pretentious, hole in the wall, authentic and an all around good time. I wish we would of spent more time there instead of leaving to go to downtown«hot» spots where we ended up being bored. I would definetely go back and bring friends.

The hut is a must see taste of old ft lauderdale. Go see Zero at night,(yes that’s his name), or terry daytime and get a dose of yesteryear. Good dj at night and open at 7 am. After all, you can’t drink all day unless you start in the morning. :-))
