I knew my coworkers had been to JJ Café in the past, but by the time I started working in the area it seemed to be out of the lunch rotation. The reviews are good, but located in a kind of shady looking gas station/convenience store plaza I wasn’t necessarily dying to get there either. This past Friday I needed a quick lunch, and on top of that it was just after noon. In this area if you aren’t headed to lunch at 11:30 crowds are pretty much a given. I decided to give JJ a try as I knew it was a diner type atmosphere and those places tend to be a little quicker, and it was just around the corner. Walking in we chose a seat and were immediately given menus. The place isn’t much, bu there is a good amount of seating with booths and tables. They serve breakfast all day as well as a variety of salads, soups, and sandwiches. They also seem to specialize in a Greek flair. Our waitress was very quick with our waters and getting our orders. I opted for the tuna wrap, while my boyfriend got the burger and fries. The food was ready very quickly, which I was grateful for. The tuna wrap was delicious. The wrap was soft and fresh and the tuna salad had the right amount of mayo and wasn’t too sweet(I really don’t like when tuna salad has that sweet element to it). I requested it be served with a pickle and was given a half a large pickle which was a little bit different variety than I am used to… didn’t seem like traditional dill, but delicious just the same(maybe it was a Greek pickle?). My boyfriend’s burger looked good and was large, though it did have more of a greasy look to in than a charred look… he had no complaints however. The burger was served with very fresh looking lettuce, tomato, and onion. It came with fries, which were enough to share for both of us(the wrap didn’t come with a side). The fries I thought were good. Somewhere between steak fries and shoestring they were crispy and not at all greasy. When we were done our waitress checked to see if there was anything else we might need and delivered the check. Here, like most diners, you pay at the register. I was super impressed that our total was only $ 16 for the two meals. They do however have a $ 10 credit card minimum, so either have cash or plan on paying for someone else’s meal because the prices are good and getting to $ 10 on your own might be a challenge if you’re just doing a sandwich. There were maybe three or four other tables when we were here, so not too busy, though they do seem to get a fair amount of takeout orders as well. I was thrilled that I was able to have a sit down lunch and be in and out in less than a half hour. I will have to come back and try breakfast. On a side note, this place closes at 3pm, but they have quite a few wines showcased… I’m not sure what this is about, but maybe lunch drinking is becoming more socially acceptable?

First time here, though I had heard good things about the Greek food for months. Glad I came in… ordered the lox platter. Portion is very big, and the veg garnish is fresh and crisp. This small, unassuming diner-style spot is a great place for a quick weekday lunch with its large portions and reasonable prices.

! Horrible customer service! I ordered food for delivery they couldn’t find me and I’m only a block away, I was on phone with driver for 20 minutes! When he finally found me the food was cold. I called and they told me it’s not their problem. Not even 10% off! They told me to send food back or pay full price. When I went in to speak to mgr I realized I’m happy I didn’t eat there. This place is disgusting. Looks like a roaches dream castle. I wish I could give this place a 0 stars!!!

I love giving hole in the wall restaurant/bars a go… And this one was very good. My boyfriend almost backed out about 5 times before I finally dragged him in here, but now he asks me to go here at least once a week!(Disclaimer: mostly Due to the fact that it’s super convenient to our office) It’s basically a diner that also serves pretty decent Greek food. We’ve tried a few different things(breakfast/lunch) and you can rely on it to always be good. It’s very convenient if you work in the area because there is fast service and they deliver. Give it a shot.

We have passed by this restaurant hundreds of times and never stopped in because the outside looks a bit run down. I read the reviews on Unilocal and they were all pretty good, so we finally decided to give it a try. The inside could use a facelift, but after being there for only a few minutes I didn’t even notice anymore. The waitress and waiter were so friendly and immediately made us feel welcome. The prices were fair and the food was delicious. We asked for a small pancake for our son and they made him a Mickey pancake with Cheerios for eyes and a nose. I had the biscuits and gravy and my husband had eggs with toast and home fries. After our great experience, we decided this would be our new breakfast spot since it’s so close to our neighborhood. I’m glad we finally decided to try it out.

I just finished my lunch at JJ café. I really wanted to like this place. My friend said her gyro sandwich was very good. I opted for scrambled eggs with American cheese and a side of bacon. Unfortunately there was no American cheese in my eggs. I would have loved to have told the waitress and given to cook I can to remake them but she disappeared after delivering our food. In fact I had to go find her just to get our check. This would be understandable at the restaurant had been crowded. Considering the fact that there was only one other customer and at least three employees you would’ve thought customer service would not be an issue. Unfortunately I cannot rate the food since my order was wrong and the customer service is not even worthy of 1 star. If you want breakfast go to Dennys or Waffle House. If you want Greek and dont mind being ignored then this is the place for you.

This was a tasty little lunch at what is basically a diner. Not sure why every diner seems to serve greek food along with the standard american fare, but i roll with jt. I got a Rachel and my husband got the Chicken Souvlaki. His was definitely better than mine. The Rachel was good, but a little too greasy for me. It was served piping hot with a pickle. His souvlaki was perfect. Next time, I’ll get the souvlaki. And there will surely be a next time!

JJ’s café has delicious breakfast!!! I love the corned beef hash here!!! Delivery time is usually very good. Definetly not a super healthy choice but when I want a delicious breakfast cheat this place totally rocks!!! I have to admit their triple decker chicken blt is healthier and delicious!!! My friend had the omelet with feta cheese and spinach, she was amazed. So they do have healthier choices I just chose to eat the bad ones because they are so delicious :)

The owner of JJ café is one of the best chefs out there. He’s been a chef for years and has owned several restaurants in different locations of Florida and even in NYC. The café’s menu consists of mostly American and Greek cuisine, but he’s also skilled in many different styles of cooking. I’m happy that I was able to find the café on Unilocal, thanks to some of his customers, but not too many people know about this place because of its location. I hope that this place continues to get noticed by more people in the area because everything on the menu looks sexy. This my second day in Florida and yesterday was my first day eating here and I had breakfast twice(once in the morning and again around 2:30pm). I would eat breakfast here at night but it closes at around 3pm. I highly recommend this place to every single person in Florida lol. So if you’re in Fort Lauderdale, you should pay a visit. You won’t regret it!

I purchased a Garden Salad with grilled chicken breast on it. It comes with pita slices, and oil/vinegar. It was really good, and filling. It was a healthy alternative.

I used to frequent here a lot since I work in the area, the reviewer below is correct in thinking they cater mostly to those of us working in the area. Unfortunately, due to being so busy at work, it’s rare to get out for a sit down meal these days. However, I would highly recommend JJ’s to anyone who does have time and is in the area! JJ’s is like your neighbourhood diner, yes it’s dingy on the outside, and not that pretty on the inside. The menus are dated and prices have been scribbled with sharpies over older prices — but it’s perfect for lunch time and the menu is huge. Breakfast is served all day from what I remember and prices are cheap. They do have a bit of a greek flair and offer gyro’s, hummus, greek pastries etc for those who want to go that route. Service is quick and attentive. I’m pretty sure there used to be a $ 10 minimum on credit cards. Not sure if that has changed.
