Joan’s kitchen is one of the first stops a Virgin Islander should visit while down in South Florida! I mean, this is authentic VI cooking and the food is exquisite! My fiancé indulged on Joan’s tasty Vienna cake… talk about perfection! I don’t know the next time I’ll make it to VI coming from Maryland, but I am grateful and thankful for the opportunity to have enjoyed true VI cuisine in South Florida and not too far from my moms. Thanks Joan and staff for all you do for the VI community! Don’t forget to leave with one of her salt fish pâté… soooo good!!!

My mom stopped by to get us some dinner and I am beyond satisfied. Food was delicious, oxtail very soft, rice very fresh. LOVED the veggies. Just wish the Mac n Cheese was more cheesier. But the food was g r e a t!

Visited only to get a pâté. I am a virgin islander and prefers how we make our pâté over the Jamaican style pâté. I called in the order and picked it up upon arrival, however, the address via Unilocal, took me to the wrong location. I advised them at the restaurant of this and they seemed unsure of what I was asking. I hope they tell the owner. It makes no sense NOT to find out about this.

Honestly, I had to make a Unilocal account just so I can write a review for this place! My dad is from St. Thomas and I grew up eating all kinds of St. Thomian food and absolutely love it. So when I found out that there is a Virgin Islands restaurant only 20 minutes from my house, you can just imagine my excitement! I went a week ago and everything I tried was soooo good! THEPATEISAMAZING!(Better than my Grandma’s! Shhhh don’t tell her I said that). I tried the meat and saltfish pâté. The saltfish pâté was by far my favorite. SO. GOOD. I also had the ox tail and peas and rice! ALSODELICIOUS! And when we went, it was a Tuesday. The soup on Tuesday’s is beef soup so my mom ordered that. Also so good. I really loved everything. Eating all the foods reminded me of being back at my Grandma’s house in Northside w/the gorgeous view of Magen’s Bay, ocean breezes hitting my face, having bunch with the family. I’ve been recommending this place to basically everyone I know. I can’t wait to go back :)

Nice little small place that’s a must visit. I was turned on to this place by a coworker who swore that Joan made the best patties you will ever eat. Being he is from the Virgin Islands I felt he was being bias. I have to admit the patty did look darn good. Well today I decided to stop by on my way home. OMG!!! I have had patties in all forms from just about all ethnic groups in the South FL area. These are by far the best patties I have every had hands down. I had a beef and saltfish patty. Both were very good the beef patty was insane. I’m not exaggerating you must check this place out for yourself. The other foods look great also but my mission was to try the patties. The owner Joan is the sweeties and friendliest lady you will every meet.
