I love the service, the menu is vast. a bit daunting. but I stick with what I know. and I make room for dessert.

This place is an institution in Fort Lauderdale. I have been here many times. What else can I say? They have your favorite comfort food, especially if you like Greek food. But take half of your meal home, the portions are huge. Plus you have to save room for a slice of pie or cake. You will see your choices rotating in cases right when you walk in. It is always busy. There are waitresses all over. If you come in after a night of fun late Friday or Saturday night, it will feel like The Twilight Zone. In a good way. So come in for a fourteen ounce cup of coffee and the real diner experience.

I’m looking and omg I never put any reviews for Lesters‼ Anywho every time we come in town we eat here at least once. Sometimes several times during the week! I love the Eggs Bene. The Holindase is perfect and has that twang of vinegar! Bf loves the Greek chicken with the greens. Since it was 10:45 I ordered and ate. Then she put his order in when it turned 11! Sooooo fabulous ALWAYS! Looks like some new wait staff this time. The feta on the top of the chicken with their sauce is to die for. Has that twang again with the sauce…

First time there and it was very busy, which is a good sign. Was not disappointed! Went for breakfast and we had the eggs and bacon with gyro meat. Delicious.

Stopped in here with a friend for breakfast on the way to the airport. Coming from NY, I’m a fan of a good diner breakfast. This did not disappoint. The diner was clean and staff was friendly. I had French toast and bacon and my friend had steak and eggs with hash browns and a biscuit. The French toast came with three large pieces. Light and fluffy. The only downside to my friend’s breakfast was the over cooked hash browns. I’d go back again

Food is decent, service was good(most times) but the nickel and dimming was quite amazing to me, anything we asked for there was a price tag. 1 Slice of tomato was additional 50 cents. Just ruins your experience and more than anything felt like the waitress was hassling us(and I’m sure she wasn’t) sounds Funny, but wasn’t fun.

Lesters has been a diner hallmark locally for more than 30 years. My family has visited during any visit to airport or excuse to get down to that area from Northern Broward. All locations are not equal and up until present never had a bad meal or experience. We visited for Sunday breakfast before going to Las Olas Art Fair. This location is always busy and moves at a good pitch and this was a similar experience. However: We got an older waitress that was quite slow and appeared to be taking many items back and forth to same tables. We waited 15 minutes to order and watched as other seated after were promptly serviced by others. When received breakfast for 3 adults and 2 children, most of it was warm to cool. It had been sitting versus served hot. The kids loved the baked goods and pancakes tasted fresh and unique. The breakfast potatoes were undercooked and squishy, not crisp and skillet hot. A fresh baked biscuit arrived and looked tasty and fresh baked, but ended up tasting and consistency of a cheap dinner roll. We were charged for an orange juice we never ordered, and kids small chocolate milks were 2.99 each. Most other pricing seems fair. As offered, prior to this visit we loved this location. We have visited others in Sunrise and Margate. We don’t feel the visit was commensurate of the normal Lesters experience, but this one failed to rate even moderately except able. Hopefully changes are noted and coming !

Lester’s is… well. it’s a diner, and I shouldn’t expect any frills or thrills. My dad took me here after picking me up from the FLL airport and I was pretty freaking hungry. It was a late night dinner outing, so my expectations were already a little low. I ordered a burger and fries. My burger was suppose to come out with melted bleu cheese & ordered medium-well. Unfortunately, my bleu cheese was not melted, and my burger was not medium well. The fries were delicious, but the burger was over cooked and underwhelming. My dad ordered the cheesecake and he said it was pretty phenomenal. It’s diner food… probably won’t be back.

5 of 5 service, 5 of 5 cleanliness, 5 of 5 selection, 5 of 5 quality, 3 of 5 flavor. After driving around in the rain, disappointed about a canceled holiday tree lighting, I stumbled across this historic landmark. Plenty of parking, and a ray of light cutting though the sheets of rain. Step inside and it’s a throwback to a classic American dinner. Display case with apple pie, colorful vinyl covered seats, middle America customers, smiling, laughing and celebrating birthdays with family and friends. What a great environment where you can watch the local college football team get beat and the waitress will come over and put her hand on your shoulder to console you with a hot refill of coffee. Never mind that all the staff are fixtures of this place, opened in the 60’s I think, only one change of ownership, to a pair of Greek brothers, which is why the menu fare has the obligatory Greek items peppered through out. The soup of the day, potato leek was creamy and nice, not too much flavor, couldn’t offend anyone, not even salty enough to dissuade a smirk from a passerby. Simple remedy, salt shaker — check, pepper shaker — check. The pastrami melt… On rye with Swiss… Grilled to a beautiful golden brown, served with a pickle slice. Is it just me or does nothing have any real intense flavor in this place? Even the fresh hot coffee, smelling fragment and intense, is thin like water? The pastrami, my expectations of a hot salty mess, is mild and fatty, but no intense cure? Have my tastebuds been ruined by late night fast food dollar items? Are my expectations too high? Does the staff not want to kill it’s paying customers with a good dose of hypertension? Okay, I get it, the next morning I DONT feel like I have foil in my veins from a late night noshing on what otherwise would have been a salt filled meat festival, in fact I feel great! Filled from the night before, but not hung over by preservative injected mystery meats. After a 6 mile run, I finish off the other half of that pastrami, which I couldn’t finish off the night before.

Love this place! I can’t believe I’ve lived in South Florida so long and never been here. I’ve always heard good things but I“m not a diner person(I try to eat fairly healthy) but when it’s late the options for good food are limited. I definitely was not let down here. I’ll definitely be back on my next late night ;)

I have to agree with some of the other posts. The potions are large. Lester’s is a Ft Lauderdale landmark opened in 1967! Food is great. Breakfast anytime and open 24 hours. A bit slow on the wait service; I had to call her over several times. Overall a great experience and we’ll be back.

Been here a couple times and this place has very good quality and service. Our waitress was superb on a busy monday afternoon after traveling 1,300 miles from chicago she gave us a warm welcome back. I went with the chicken Caesar salad and the veggies were fresh, the smoked chicken was well cooked and seasoned. Fairly large portion, so my gf picked the turkey whole wheat sandwich and the fries!!! The fries are so good I couldn’t resist and stole a few of them they are so crunchy and fresh!!! I think this will be our go to restaurant when we arrive from FLL.

This place was packed but the line moved very quickly. It has a great atmosphere. It’s a diner so of of course you could order breakfast, lunch or dinner. I chose corn beef hash with eggs. Our waitress was very police and the food came out in about 10 minutes. I was surprised seeing how busy they were. The food was great as well as the coffee. On the way out we passed a tall case filled with cakes and desserts but I was too full. Maybe next time.

Open 24hrs, this Lester’s is evidence that the«old school» diner still exists. I’m a big fan of breakfast and this place never disappoints. Spacious seating area including an outside patio area and a sprawling bar as you walk through the door. Upon entering, you’ll notice a dessert carousel displaying all of their homemade cakes and pies, a selection big enough to satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth. Behind the counter, a large selection of freshly made muffins, Danish and cookies. Breakfast served all day and the possibly the best coffee in town.. Today I had 2−2−2, the pancakes were light and fluffy, the eggs were scrambled softly to my liking and I opted for the bacon over sausages. The waitresses always circling to make sure your meal is tasty and your coffee topped off. Checkout is sometimes a little backed up but no big deal as it just gives me another few minutes to people watch.

The famous New York Times food critic and all around great American foodie, Craig Cliborne, was asked by a journalist if it was true that the food was really good at truck stops where truckers ate. He responded, «Yes, if you like the food that truckers are apt to eat.» I couldn’t get this quote out of my mind when we ate at Lester’s. As I looked around at the patrons I kept thinking of Craig’s remark. Well, the joint is friendly enough for sure and the«Mel’s» effect is in full force and it’s a darn site better than the now overpriced Flashback, but the food…“Oh me of my, the sky is falling in.”, said Chicken Little and that’s what I got a very little chicken that had been hanging about in the walkin for for a very long time. But, what can you expect, the prices are good and the hours are great and the help is friendly. If you are caught in a torrential downpour and need to wait it out, then Lester’s is an alright place to do it.

I really like Lester’s and was happy to find this huge diner on the way to a race nearby. As many of you know, I absolutely love to eat at diners and even more so after burning some calories in the FL heat. We popped over to Lester’s and were sat quickly for a Saturday, even tho the place was pretty full. I think this is due in part to the large dining room. We walked past a delicious looking pastry case and one of those spinny cake case things, that should be at every diner. We were sat and our food came out super fast. I had the old standby of bacon and over easy eggs, but was pleased to try the biscuits. I often like to look around at other people’s order and I saw that petty much everyone in the near vicinity had a biscuit, so I went for it. The biscuits were super light and fluffy and I was sad I had only ordered one. There were also diner-y lunch options and I saw a pretty tasty looking club sandwich that I’d like to come back to try. Overall a great spot, great service and tasty food. Will definitely be back when in the area!

When we arrived, there was limited parking. The parking lot is pretty big, but mostly an unpaved field. When we got to the door to meet the rest of our party, the place was packed. Lots of people with tons of large luggage coming and going. It definitely reminded me of being in an airport terminal restaurant. Very fast paced. In terms of service, the lovely ladies of Lester’s definitely delivered. The place was extremely packed and we came with a large party so I was worried that this might be a disaster considering my almost 2 year old has definitely not mastered patience. I was obviously happy to find our waitress was fully attentive. She immediately took the order for our toddler first and returned quickly with a bowl of fresh fruit for him. The fruit was fresh and delicious. The coffee here is also outstanding. When it came to main dishes, the food was decent. I had french toast with scrambled eggs. The eggs were good, the french toast was dry and it seemed as though they had used the end of the bread to make the pieces. My husband ordered an omelette, he said that it was decent, but it was not as good as he had hoped. I love biscuits and ordered one, but it was more of a soft butter bread than the kind of biscuit I expected. If I’m coming back from a long trip, I would come here again.

A Classic breakfast Americana. of the, I think 4 locations, this is the original. And it is a classic all around. Its just a straight up diner that you feel time slipped from the 50’s till now. The only way to tell your in 2014 is the amount of tattoos on the waitress. Lester’s does diner food, and does it well. There isn’t 5 different crazy Eggs Benedict options, just one, and its done well There isn’t mango or candied bacon waffle options, but there blueberry and strawberry Waffles are done well. And there isn’t a bunch of eccentric omelettes, But their diner omelette options are all fresh… and done well. A breakfast review as that’s what I almost always have there, between the hours of 3AM and 10AM The rotating cakes, a must
