Makeup By Robbin

I saw Robbin’s work first hand on my friend’s bride a few years ago. I was reminded on how amazing her make up was when I viewed their wedding album recently. I asked my friends wife who did her makeup. She gave me Robbin’s number and I booked a consultation/​trial weeks prior to my brother’s wedding. I loved her work then and her work the day of my brother’s wedding was even better. She had four faces to enhance and all were so pleased with the outcome. She arrived on time and was more than accommodating to everyones specific requests. Robbin also partners with an amazing hair artist whose work equally impressible. All our hair styles lasted from 10 am until the wee hours after the wedding. Job well done ladies. I will be calling you when the next occasion arises.

I booked Robbin to do my wedding makeup a few months ago. I was very nervous — I have hyperpigmentation and have been doing my own makeup since I was a teen. I’ve become an expert managing my spots with medication and treatment and hiding them with a carefully concocted blend of foundations, but I also knew I needed to take a leap of faith and let someone do my makeup for my wedding. I spoke to Robbin and was sold the minute I heard her voice. She patiently listened to my very specific, demanding and frankly terrified (and probably terrifying) list of wants and needs, which boiled down to asking her to make sure my skin looked even, and flawless. I asked her for a trial, and after the session I was further convinced I found the right person to do my makeup. Robbin takes her time, carefully analyzing skin and matching tones with her makeup, which is exclusively Mac. Although she preferred a more ‘natural’ look, given my insistence on perfection, we reached an incredibly happy medium. She covered my flaws in a way that even I haven’t learned to master, and she applied the foundation and powder with a natural, not-​overly-​done flair. I looked like I was wearing my own skin. My eyes were frankly spectacular, and the tones she used on my cheeks and lips enhanced the color of my dress. In a nutshell, Robbin expertly uses her outstanding skills to make sure she listens to her customers’ needs, keeping a natural and beautiful look that lasts for hours. She made my day, and won a permanent customer because of her dedication, sweetness, unparalleled professionalism and keen eye for balance and perfection. Thank you, Robbin, for listening and making me look more beautiful than I ever dreamed possible, for a day that I will remember for the rest of my life.
