Stopped by here and split a Philly cheesesteak and an Italian hoagie with a fellow fisherman. Well, the Philly cheesesteak didn’t turn out to be anything that would give Pat’s or Gino’s of Philly much of a run for their money in the taste category and the Italian hoagie sort of missed the high standards for flavor and assembly of ingredients set by our local Laspada’s. Indeed on the hoagie the ingredients were just put in, not folded in, which sort of allowed the whole thing to fall apart on you if you were careful when eating it. Mr. Nick’s is kind of a neat place though with its open patio, picnic benches and walk up order counter. It sort of exudes that old charm and way of doing things that Fort Lauderdale had in the 50’s and 60’s. But if you are going here, the parking is extremely limited and the place does pack them in around the noon hour. Price wise, however, Mr. Nick’s is tough to beat for what you get.

Absolutely horrible! Chili cheesesteak tasted like cafeteria sloppy Joe’s. The chicken parm was without question reheated from yesterday and ice cold. And for some reason they didn’t feel the need to toast the bread. They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. Losers

Fantastic and consistent steak sandwich. I didn’t have anything else there so I can’t comment. fast and friendly service, and the price is very fair. A must eat.

This place is right off Andrews with minimal parking and kind of dirty grungy old school fort laudy feel. If you can get passed that… and the crazy midday drunks next door… it’s not so bad. I had the Italian foot long, meats where nothing special but the bread and toppings gave it the extra needed flavor. Over all this place is a good sub shop…12 bucks for a sub chips and coke… a bit steep but hey I was hungry. Enjoy

WOW… Great Sub, Great Menu. The only issue is deciding between the Philly, Original Sub, or one of the specialty Subs. Bread was good too.

I’ve worked downtown for years and I get Mr. Nick’s at least once a week. They are AMAZING!!! Kinda like a hole in the wall shop but those are usually the best! I’ve had the cheeseburger, Fort Lauderdale chicken, chicken cordon bleu but my favorite is the Full house cheese steak. Onions, cheese, mushrooms, green peppers. Its really good size portions 6″ or 12″. Try them if your ever nearby!!!

I’ve been eating at Mr. Nicks for years, the food is solid with a mix of sandwiches that will surprise you for such a plain looking building, one of my favorite is the Fort Lauderdale chicken sandwich, Its a grilled /breaded chicken sub with white american cheese, bacon and creamy Italian dressing, you can’t top that. Along with that they have soups, salads along with other daily specials. The chicken salad is great, they are also open for breakfast, when my office was downtown sometimes I would order breakfast deliveried, the breakfast burritos are to die for. Overall, parking can be tricky and they get quite busy during lunch time(deservedly so) so I would call ahead to order. I highly recommend Mr. Nicks for a real taste of Fort Laudedale. Also its is a locally owned business not a huge corporate chain.

My first time(and I live in Ft Lauderdale 25 years) service was pleasant and quick. I had the Italian Sub. Stocked full of meats and the sub roll was soft. I will definitely be going back

Limited review based on two sandwiches but we really enjoyed them. First for the décor, there does not seem to be any inside seating but there is covered patio seating. This place is more of a hole in the wall and not fancy; so be forewarned if you’re looking for ambiance. The location is across the street from the park which is really convenient for a quick bite or to have an impromptu picnic as we did. You order at a window and the sandwiches are made to order. We got the BLT and the pizza steak. The quality of both was quite good. The bread is a soft white hoagie roll. They stuff their sandwiches with a good quantity of tasty ingredients. The BLT is pretty straight forward but they do load it with crispy bacon and use fresh veggies. The proportion works well. The pizza steak is a cheese steak with onions, cheese and pizza sauce. I was confident it would not taste bad when I ordered it, but the sandwich exceeded my expectations. It was extremely tasty and well prepared. We enjoyed our stop here and will likely be back; not an every day thing, but most likely another future impromptu picnic!

I Unilocaled to find someplace close enough to walk to from KCW and was rewarded by this jewel. Used the call ahead tip to order my lunch before I left and my Sammie was waiting for me when I got there two songs on my playlist later. It was a cool day so the walk was nice. When I got there I forgot the soup and was pleasantly surprised that there were no lines no waiting(11:45ish). French onion soup was prepared in less than 3 min. and I was on my way back to the office. Started with the soup. First spoonful was amazing. Good flavor, a bit of cheese and bread and onion all together. Then I couldn’t find the cheese. I thought maybe it was melted into the soup. I found it at the end in the bottom of the bowl. No so good. The onions were in dices instead of slices the way I prefer, but that’s my personal taste. The flavor overall was good. Onto the Sammie — chicken parm. I got the 6″ which was BIG considering I just ate the soup. Those of you with smaller appetites would find this sammich large. Chicken was moist and the sauce was very flavorful — not too salty. Bread was a little wet, but that’s what happens when you wrap a hot sandwich in foil, put it in your purse and take it for a walk. A little pricey at $ 10 for lunch with tip — next time I’ll have either soup or sandwich, but not both. The other half of the sandwich will be a delicious snack!

This place never disappoints. Lunch time is crazy so order ahead if possible. Their wraps and sandwiches are always fresh. $ 5.00 for a spinach salad or $ 8.00 for a wrap, potato salad and drink, you can’t go wrong. No wonder they’ve been around forever! Ps: parking can be a little tricky.

Had the cheese steak sandwich, traditional nice sub! No surprises. Next time I’ll ask for toasted bread… Great pricing, get the lemonade! Solid relaxed client line up, where a majority go for the 12″…y

If you have not been to this awesome neighborhood joint, then you are missing out on good food, good portions and good food, oh wait I said that, just wanted to emphasis that is all. I go here almost every morning for a Breakfast sandwich. They are so good that I start thinking about them as soon as I leave to house to go to work. Eggs, bacon, cheese, tomatoes and mushrooms is my breakfast sandwich but I ask for it on a wrap and they always accommodate me and don’t get me started on their lunch, it is fabulous… they also have specials every day with one main item, a side and a drink and its always at a really good price. If you have not been, you better go. Its a diamond in the ruff. I have nothing but rave reviews for Mr. Nick’s Sub Shoppe. Peace & Love!

Decent quick bite to eat. While I was waiting for my chicken sandwich to be prepared, I went next door to the bar that was open at 9 a.m., to go to the bathroom. Nick apparently does not have a bathroom — there were way too many people in the bar next door considering the time of that. Upon returning to Nicks I found my chicken sandwich I’ve been prepared it was actually a pretty decent meal for quick bite to eat in the morning — just a few bucks. I would recommend Nicks if you want to grab a quick bite to eat, however my most intriguing moment of the meal was noting the crowd inside the bar next door… might just have to have a good morning beer
