Lovely quilt shop! Tons of fabrics to choose from. Found the MODA fabrics I had been looking for. Great kits and if you need anything for your Bernina it sure looks like they have it! Staff was friendly, can’t wait to start another project so I can go back :)

I was excited to finally get to this quilt store. Very disappointed in the one lady in the store. No offer of any help. Asked about classes and was told to looked it up on line. Very unpleasant. Still searching for a good quilt store in south Florida

Went to this store while on a trip to Ft Lauderdale to see the ‘rents. The store is nicely laid out and they have a great selection of various types of threads in tons of colors, and also seemed to have lots of options in terms of batting. However, I was disappointed to find that there wasn’t as much fabric inventory as I expected. I’m giving this place only 2 stars because the employees made it so unpleasant to be in there even for just 10 minutes. There was no sound in the store other than the 4 employees arguing, interrupting, and almost yelling at each other while they ordered Bernina inventory and hung some holiday decorations. Right before I left one of the women disgustingly yelled at another one: «this is not rocket science!» It was not a nice environment to shop in, and made me hurry to pay and leave quickly. Oh, and one other big negative: Prices are higher than suggested retail. The Westminster print I bought was $ 12.95 even though it usually retails for about $ 10/yard.

September 16th. 2012 quilting class started today. 8 in the class. Myself and 7 women. Maria, who teaches is a deft mute. Don’t let that scare you, she also writes on the chalkboard to help get her instructions across. Maria, is very precise Checking everyone’s work. If its not right you have to redo it. Everyone taking quilting lessons is there to learn, we all help each other. Having 8 people in the class is about all there’s room for. Anymore it would be a bit crowded for space to work. This is my first time of taking sewing lessons for(Quilting) I’ve already learned how important the cutting is, along with sewing a ¼ inch straight line. I’m still not to sure what direction to Iron the seam, Maria, will show me when I come on sunday. The quilting lessons are worth every dollar spent to learn how to get it right. What you don’t realize, the quilt kit is not a finish quilt. You still have to buy the batting and the back sheet and have a long arm quilter finish putting the top, middle & back together the cost can be as much as the lessons and kit together(quilting) ain’t cheep.
