Popeyes

Hubby loves Popeye’s chicken. Like most fast food places, I always unequivocally assume good help is hard to find. This is for one of a few drive through experiences here over the years. I hate going inside, because you never know what you will be forced to encounter on the way from your car to the building o_​O
2 stars for the wait… this visit was no different. I ordered 8 piece tender family meal. It came with 4 biscuits and one large side of mashed potatoes for $ 19.99 before tax. They had me pull up slightly out of the way, sit and wait. Three cars came and went behind me with their meals…15 minutes later a worker comes out and hands me a bag of food.
1 star for the food… I wish I had taken a picture. I’m not sure if I’d go back so that I can show you how SMALL and FRAIL the tender pieces are, if that’s the norm at THOSE PRICES. It’s like they stripped chicken breast into rather thin meat strands each a few inches long, heavily battered and fried them, making the «tenders» like fried battered chicken jerky; they were shaped like a bunch of crispy letter «C“s. Yes, in that big olé box, that’s how those 8 funny-​shaped pieces looked as crazy as that sounds. Left the family mad and hungry, it was pretty hard to eat, pun intended.
3 stars for the service. Wasn’t bad, wasn’t stellar.
Too bad for hubby. Not stopping there on the way any more for ya.

The service was extremely slow during today’s visit around 2:00 pm. And, the pregnant lady at the counter seems to not understand English very well. The food was good, but my beans & rice were cold. And, don’t order unsweetened tea there. They have no sweetner for it. Who drinks tea without any sweetner? Talk about cheap! I’d rather go to the Popeyes on 441, near Sheridan Street. They have quick and courteous service. Their food is awesome. And, their beans & rice are piping hot. And,…THEY HAVE SWEET-​N-​LOW AND EQUAL!!!

Decent service although I asked for wings and they gave me breasts once… Sweet tea was good…
