It’s done, closed… Shuttered and everything. Never really saw this place packed much, it was three floors and rarely ways the third floor open when I went. I guess it just the times when I stopped by. Too bad, great location

Okay fellow Unilocalers– I don’t know how drunk you were when you left this fine establishment but I can whole heartedly say this place is awesome! I’ve worked in the food industry in high school and a little after college, so I know what’s up. Just to clarify, as a Fort Lauderdale native I have eaten basically everywhere on A1A. So if you come here and the bar is packed– don’t complain how hard it is to close your check. Just stop. Go home. Plastic cups? Lol is this your first time at a bar? Tarpon bend switches to plastic cups at night too, so this is normal. I’m not even drunk(yet) and these other Unilocalers are so wrong. This is a bar that serves food, not a restaurant– there’s a difference. These jalapeño poppers are awesome! They’re not even frozen, which is a huge plus in my book already. These burgers are the only burgers on this corner that aren’t frozen AF either. The nacho chips are made from scratch. And the wings. THESEWINGSSSS my boyfriend might break up with me if I steal one more, but whatever I’ll risk it. They also have giant Jenga, the ring toss game, and the roof is sick. OH! And the bathrooms are super clean, too. I’ll be coming back here for sure.

Do not eat here. Wings were terrible. Drinks were overpriced but the service was good. But seriously… It would probably be better if they just didn’t serve food at all.

Being in the industry Im taken back by receiving the worst service ever and being verbally abused by the bar staff. I mean never in my life was I ever disrespected like that, it took 20 min just to get a drink and 40 just to close out the check. And then she threw the check at me and said just get the F out of my bar really lady? And then management backed her up I mean really I was just trying to pay my check, your like 50 maybe it’s time to retire since your so cranky and can’t handle a not even full bar!

First off they were not honoring the buy one drink get one free check in that was on Unilocal.Drinks were pricy and they place smelled a little. Bartender was a nice guy but place seemed a little sketchy. Giant Jenga was there but they had it on an uneven barstool.

We discovered this bar after the Fort Lauderdale Sea and Air show. It was packed and we had a good time. I went back many times, usually on Sunday nights when there was live music with a guy cracking jokes. Fun… beer bucket specials, also inexpensive. They did not sell food at the time, so I would get a slice of pizza or two and then bring it to the bar to eat(which was perfectly fine at the time and I did so after seeing others do the same). I thought I was regular enough to at least get some consistent good treatment… but was I wrong! On one of my return visits and usual routine, which included a slice of pizza and a bucket of beer, the male bulky bartender(who never was particular friendly), came up to me and told me to leave and finish it up outside. He told me they started to serve food… but I had no idea that this change took place from one week to the next and easily would have respected that ongoing. But instead of being polite, he was rude… even outside I could not put my pizza plate(remember I also had beer and need 3 – 4 arms to hold all and eat) on any of the outside tables. He became the no pizza enforcement police, making sure I did not touch any of the tables. So frustrating… All it would have taken was a little tact. He had seen me there many times but that act of rudeness has resulted in me never returning again. Tell me once politely and I would have known better the next time and ordered snacks at the bar… Since the bar staff remained pretty consistent throughout the time I was there, I would expect the same unfriendly treatment now. Hence my low rating.

The this bar is located on the back street of the main beach street. Lol how best I explain it. We visited this bar on a Friday night in December, the week before Christmas 2014. Every time we walked by, it was pretty dead. Maybe one or two guys sitting at the bar. Ladies drank free 9−11pm on Friday. The bar was still pretty empty lol easy/fast for me to get my drinks though. The bar is just like any other bar. I don’t know why it was so dead all the time. I can’t really comment on pricing because my drinks were free. Mostly older men at this bar. Maybe it’s popping during another season. Not a bad bar, not great. Could be cool if you’re with a group of fun people.

Cool bar and layout that could be awesome… But, the staff doesn’t give a sh*t. Upstairs bartender on Saturday night is a joke. Only 5 people at the bar and she can’t even pour a drink or get our group beers. We spend some serious cash wherever we go. To busy with her boyfriends. Even the bar backs agreed. Need better management before we ever come back.

I was there for the first time last night and probably will never go back. The female bartender had zero drink making skills and was rude when we tried to have a drink re-made. There is no space to be rude when you’re charging me $ 7-$ 9 per crappy drink that you make.

I stopped in to catch the end of the soccer game. First and LAST time. Where to begin. This place is so awful that I started writing this review so that I would stop daydreaming about different ways to take my own life. There’s no food, no décor, and it reeks of sad desperation. And the music. My God the music. Blaring shitty techno garbage that is the chief cause of most my thoughts of ending it all right now. And seriously, plastic beer cups? What are we, in a lame frat house? If anyone needs me I’ll be across the street at the Parrot.

This place is kinda… Weird. First off, It looks as if they have food– nope thank god for primanti brothers right next to it. I actually managed the karaōke night with only drinking water as my friends were all drinking. I was the DD of the night. I let a friend use my buy one get one free Unilocal offer. The bartender is nice looking and sweet(Sam) and even sung karaōke. The crowd was so strange. Had a mix of everyone but it was sorta funny. The karaōke girl was funny and lively, but kept dropping hints about tipping her. On the microphone. Then would dance on the bar. I would rather come here after I am already drunk as they have corn hole and ringtoss upstairs which I did like. But I was stuck here, I did have fun, but the venue didn’t help, the crowd I was with made it fun. Please make this your last stop of the night. Oh yeah the bottom floor is so small to dance. Enough room for about 5 people.

Other than us being the only ones in there we figured it would be fine. Ordered a white sangria pitcher for $ 18 and it came in a coffee mug? Hmm… and it tasted like tequila and Mountain Dew. We drank fast and left. Horrible.

This is a 3 level bar. On the night we visited they had the roof top bar closed. Maybe because of the 50 degree weather. They have a dj on the second floor and the same music plays on the first floor. First floor is easier to talk than the louder second floor. Easy to get a drink at the bar.

Great bar… really friendly staff… Johnny is the best! We came in on New Years and he was the greatest. Fun atmosphere, foosball, darts and the rooftop bar has a great view. Come in for a quick drink, a few drinks or dinner

The only positive thing I can say about the bar was it had a great location. This seemed to be the place to be when we checked into our hotel late night. So the following day, we gave it a try. We were highly disappointed when we sat ourselves for lunch(which is somewhat normal for a bar), but waited, and waited for someone to serve us. We walked up to the bar to get a menu, and returned to our seat & waited… Still no service. One of the servers, or bartenders(not sure which) was playing a game with the ladies at the table next to us(the ONLY table with patrons). The game was the one where you swing a piece of sting attached to a ring, hoping to snag it to the hook on the wall. Over & over again. We left after wasting about 25 minutes of our time, and not so much as a greeting, let alone a drink or meal order. Someone attempted to get our attention when we walked out, but it was too late. We went across the street to MadDog Catina & service there was spot on. Guess which bar we returned to during our 5 day trip?!

This location has been occupied by so many different bars or food serving facilities I can’t even begin to remember all of their names. The only thing all have in common is that they’ve all been failures but for reasons that sort of baffle me as the location is good. Also, the building has a second floor as well as a roof top to it plus it’s located in a rather neat beachfront neighborhood. Other bars, such as the legendary Parrot Lounge which has existed since the time of «Where the Boys Are» is practically located across the street and seems to not only have survived the time but is still doing well today. Then when it comes to food, Premanti Brothers, also a local legendary establishment of Lauderdale as well as in Pittsburgh, is only a stones toss away, has been here decades, open 24 hours a day 365 days a year, with never a thought of ever closing its doors. The Sandbar is kind of a dive bar but a fun one offering a good street level along with some decent guitar/singing entertainment plus decent drinks at reasonable prices. During my recent visit here they were still working on the second floor so I only visited the ground level. They used to have big, rather wild dance parties here. Maybe they’ll do that again, but the Sandbar operation is a little too new to tell for sure. The service I had was good, polite, and professional and the drinks poured full measure. What I like best about it however is its laid back fun beachside neighborhood location which is great for people watching and affords the opportunity to meet up with some rather interesting folks, both tourists and locals. Since it is so new, hasn’t really established its crowd or targeted its market yet, I can only say its ok, giving it three stars though I must say I like it, it has the potential of a good party place and look forward to visiting it again.
