Obsessed with tree of India! My favorites are the Blemd #5, the headache roller scent, the candles, and the meditation oil! Very cool store!

I loved meeting Jessica, the owner of Tree of India. She’s very sweet, down-to-earth, and highly knowledgeable about essential oils for everyday use. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to learn more about aromatherapy.

Stopped by yesterday after eating lunch down the street. I wasn’t expecting much, but this place wowed me. The moment you walk in you can’t help but inhale deeply. Filled with the scents of aromatherapy oils, incense, and handmade soaps, a deep breath here feels like heaven. The owner couldn’t have been nicer, explaining everything and telling us about the various oils and about the classes she offers. Prices were totally reasonable compared to what most boutiques charge. I was delighted to pick up two bars of handmade olive oil soap for less than the cost of one at that expensive store at the Aventura mall. I signed up for Tree of India’s mailing list. I’ll definitely be returning soon.

I nearly walked past this place but the rich smell of incense and radiance of good auraic vibes stopped me in my tracks and forced me to enter the establishment. Once lured inside, I could see that the store is small yet well organized and pleasing to the eye. After browsing for a few minutes, I noticed most of the products were predominately yoga supplies, active clothing, aromatherapy and incense supplies(exp. smudge feathers). The minute I saw essential and massage oils my interest was squarely locked unto them, so I inquired owner about the oils. The owner named Jessica, informed me that the she makes all of the sprays, massage oils, and essential oils on premises. That was excellent news to my ears, as I do regularly buy essential and massage oils from WholePayCheck(Whole Foods) and would prefer to support local small business. After glancing over her products that intrigued me for a few more minutes, I chose to buy one red cedar essential oil bottle, a cedar incense wand(for my weekly smudging) and three packs of my all time favorite hard to find Japanese Shoyeido incense. I am definitely going to be a regular shopper here. I also found out that Jessica teaches private yoga classes, I believe she also does group yoga classes to, but I am not sure.

Last weekend was Art Basel in Miami to which I scored myself a press pass and entry into some wicked awesome events; so naturally, I came to Fort Lauderdale to attend an aromatherapy mixing session at Tree of India on Friday night. I know I know, might as well change my name to Sara«I’m a stupid hoe» M. But really, I would not have traded my time here for any over-hyped Basel event! Tree of India is a quaint little shop nestled behind the Gateway shopping center which I probably would have never found if it weren’t for the nifty groupon I bought for an aromatherapy mixing party. Groupons, I have found to be predictably hit or miss; when they’re good, they’re great. and if they are bad, well they make you wish you spent that +/-20 bucks on a jumbo pack of ziploc bags. Fortunately, my groupon and my time at Tree of India were both stupendous. The owner, Jessica, is really knowledgeable about her craft as well as being very warm and welcoming. She had all the ladies there for the class sit on pillows in a circle as we sipped on our kava cocktails and listened as she explained to as all there is to know(or all that could fit into a 90 min time frame) about essential oils and aromatherapy. She really did a good job of relaying the information in a way that was not the least bit boring or classroom-like, instead she told stories and got all the ladies involved, and it was really very interesting and fun. Once everyone in the group had the basics down, we were given a dark amber glass bottle with a misting sprayer which was filled with distilled water. From there, everyone got to head over the mixing bar, where all the essential oils were set out for us to smell and plan out a mixture of 30 drops. Each oil has special properties which create different responses, such as clary sage which brings about a smile on your face with just one sniff due to its qualities of being an anti-depressant, confidence booster and builder of mental strength. Yes, all this from just smelling it! I had a really great time creating my own signature mist based on the scents of the oils and their benefits. My mixture came out great and I have used it every day since making it. This event was great, I had fun all while learning something new! The experience was very eye-opening and I will definitely be back to get some of the mixtures sold for headache remedies and immunity boosters. Tree of India is a really cool place and if you can make it to one of the mixing events, it’s a fun and different way to spend a night.
