Great location for sushi and drinks. The beach is right across the street, so the scenery was great. Service was timely and my guest enjoyed themselves after a long Monday of meetings.

Awesome sushi! We came for drinks and got a great table outside with cushioned booths. We had a very nice waiter who recommended the dragon roll and I’m very happy that he did. It was delicious. Also had the spicy tuna roll which was good but I prefer the dragon. Fresh and tasty. Didn’t experience the inside/bar area but upon a quick walk through it looked nice and clean. The only happy hour special was the massive sugary drinks and we passed on those for Corona Lights. Glad we stayed away. If you want sushi by the beach, no brainer.

For beachside dining, you always have the pedestrian element. Tsukuro, which presents a modern, upscale flair — sheds the«bar food» we’ve grown accustomed to in the beach. Actually, Tsukuro has really good food and beach vibe. Sushi, particularly the specialty rolls, are great. Service could be a little better, but again… it’s the beach!

Sorry for no food pics. So delicious that we ate most of it before remembered to take a picture. Food was excellent. Got the oyster lover. The crispy rice. Rainbow roll. Octopus and cucumber salad(yum). Will be back. Also they add 15% service charge to the bill.

One of the best deals in town if you do it right! Special $ 5 menu with more than a dozen options available, from brussel sprouts(fantastic!) to sushi rolls(big!) to gyoza. I love a meal of tapas so with the price, the view(across the street from the beach), and the quality of food, it’s a hands down winner! Been here many times and always happy and satisfied.(Note: You must sit at the bar for the special menu, which runs until 6:00pm)

This place is top notch. I had a blast we came ere for the happy hour 5 $ deals. From sushi to starters and cocktails everything priced at five bucks for lunch it’s must go place in fort Lauderdale Florida. Amazing décor from the inside out. Friendly staff that’s also knowledgeable in the cuisine and helpful. I had one of the best lunches in my life. Highly recommend.

First of all this is the best restaurant at this location. Their sushi is fresh and some of them are really innovative. The servers know English and are glad to hive suggestions based on your taste. Try their small plates and Sushi for sure. I had Shitito pepper and Over the moon sushi with jumbo margarita. Simply great!

They make you tip before the discount so for the $ 24 drink special you end up paying 30% tip. Totally a joke. And completely wrong that there is more then a shot or two in a giant drinks. Mostly sugar. So you end up paying $ 32 for 2 «drinks» full of sugar.

The food is actually delicious. Some fresh takes on standard rolls and some new takes like bejeweled, featuring a topping of salmon roe. However, the service is terrible and the food is only reason this has any stars. Their staff big you on the sidewalk to come in and bribe you with a coupon for 10% off. Wonderful. However if you dare use that coupon you’re hit with a mandatory 15% service fee that a) isn’t disclosed ahead of time and b) doesn’t include tip. I’ve heard of mandatory service fee in resort destinations to ensure staff get their tips, but this is ridiculous. It’s also less than I would have tipped so congratulations for shorting your own waiter. It’s a good sushi place and the only one on the beach, but I won’t be back.

Beware of waiters keeping your change. Went here for lunch last Wednesday. Gave the waiter cash he kept our change. It wasn’t a lot. It was that he knew he was doing that. Apparently he can not add. When a bill ends in 29 means there is change back if paying with cash. I would have left him a better tip. When asked he said«I did not think it mattered» I think it is for the customer to decide how much tip not the waiter. Imagine if someone had drank too much? Also he gave us a very long talk in the beginning«if you order it you buy it» What??? Very very odd. We ordered sushi so can only speak to that. It was good not awesome. Extremely pricey even for beach resort area. Atmosphere is ok as right on the beach. Beware 15% gratuitiy on all bills. In small print on menu. Then they calculate tip based on whole amount even if you come in at lunch on their 10% off deal. Not sure that is a big deal. Given our service I would not have left 15% on the whole amount.

Two stars for the food, zero for service. The service here is terrible. I was convinced to take my boyfriend here for his birthday last night over Tokyo Sushi(a place we’ve never had bad service at) and boy that was the wrong move. We made it a double date so we came in with four people at about 9 p.m. The restaurant was practically empty, so no excuse for the bad service. When we ordered the appetizers and our first round of sushi, it was a good start, then we’re done, we wait… And wait. 15 minutes later of waiting. Waitress asks if we want anything else, we order dessert my boyfriend and I order the tempura cheesecake $ 10 and the crème brûlée duet $ 13. We wait again… The waitress comes back and let’s us know they are out of the brûlée… Ok we’ll just do the cheesecake then. Probably 20 minutes go by and the food runner brings us our plates. We ate, and then again we wait. And wait… Literally can’t believe how long it took her to come back. Unreal she never once did an actual food check. Not to mention they only do one soda refill. And make sure to fill the ice all the way, I have never seen that before with a fountain drink and I live fort Lauderdale. Also, the server made sure to mention that the food comes out whenever ready, so items wouldn’t be together, that’s cool we don’t mind. But of course the servers wouldn’t tell us they always add 15% gratuity. And on the check it’s not highlighted either. It literally looks like the end tab is you tab for food only. When I let our friends know they let us know they didn’t realize that, they double tipped last time. I will always tip 20% if I at least see an effort. But absolutely nooo effort. I did not tip more on top of the 15% because she didn’t even deserve that. I will add, I work in the restaurant business and I have always been for adding gratuities for those people that really just suck… But when it makes your servers just not care and give terrible service, it’s not a positive thing.

I have such mixed feelings about this place… Some days I like it, some I hate it. I have been here several times… Their rolls are pretty decent, but their salads(except for the sashimi salad) and other items on the menu, not so great. The seafood is not the freshest and the mixed drinks are horrible. Stick to wine and sake if you do come. On the other hand, the atmosphere is nice and you have ocean view. Cute waiters too if you want some eye candy. #justsaying Service is good.

Came here for a late dinner by the beach, always wanted to try it and I finally got the chance. The décor is the first thing that brings you in, the menu is good variety of Asian dishes. Were seated right away and the service was good. However I was underwhelmed with the food. We ordered Thai wings(3⁄5), curry chicken skewers(2.5÷5) — they don’t really get Asian food right, offering a variety of cuisines doesn’t mean they know how to treat each one. Heartbreaker tuna sushi-sashimi roll which was the only saving grace but the rice didn’t seem fresh either. Our server left half way but another came by but both failed to take care of the wet floor near our booth which was clearly a hazard. And of course the place was overpriced, felt like I was paying the rent and labor but certainly not for the food. They do have giant margaritas which seem to be a crowd fave esp with the beach front location.

Very, very expensive for what you get. I am by no means cheap when it comes to good food, I don’t mind paying for the quality. I have had much better sushi at a much better price. The service was friendly and it was a nice atmosphere, plus the shrimp fried rice was to die for — but I still cant get past the total bill. Yes we did order a lot of food(oxtail egg rolls, edamame, shrimp fried rice, sushi rolls). I didn’t leave super full and I didn’t think it was worth the money. I would try somewhere else next time.

Pretty decent happy hour on the beach strip, plus an eyecatching menu beyond the weekday specials. The sushi was excellent — I got a shrimp tempura roll and spicy tuna roll for $ 5 each, plus a $ 5 glass of prosecco(well drinks, beer/wine also $ 5 during happy hour). The only miss was the Thai BBQ calamari — essentially fried calamari smothered in some kind of aoili that was neither Thai nor barbecue. Still, the restaurant itself is lovely and has fantastic outdoor seating overlooking the beach.

^^ 3 ½ Stars. I stopped in here for the first time with a party of six for dinner on a Friday night. It was around 7:30pm and we were able to get a table immediately without reservations. We were seated outside(our choice), just to the right of the main walkway. Much to my surprise, the menu had a wide array of original dishes to choose from, all of which sounded very interesting. Being with an adventurous group, we ordered numerous different appetizers and rolls to pass around. COCKTAILSPLEASE! — Full Bar The drink orders were placed first and the guys ordered a bucket of beer. Apparently there was some miscommunication because the buckets of beer arrived with Miller Light only and not Budweiser and Miller as requested. We did have a die-hard STL Bud fan at the table and were not allowed to mix and match the beer buckets, so they were then ordered separately. Note: Budweiser is not allowed as a bucket of beer item! This did not make a big hit with the guys at the table. REQUESTTOEATINSIDE: Next, I would like to point out that the incredibly loud techno music playing in this restaurant in direct competition with the Mexican restaurant music to the right side left everyone screaming at each other including the waiter through the entire service. The noise level definitely took away from the whole experience. It was a shame that patrons couldn’t relax to more appropriate music while enjoying the sunset and the ocean view. If Tsukuro put up a clear plastic buffer on the right side to help push back the conflicting restaurant music and toned it down, that might help, but they definitely need to rethink this whole mess. DINNERTIME — WHERE’S THEIKURA? Our orders all came out in a fairly reasonable amount of time for the amount of food we ordered. We did receive one order of four salmon sushi pieces(see pic) that we didn’t order, though our waiter seemed to think so. Again, the screaming loud music didn’t help. The other mishap was that four orders of Ikura Sushi were ordered which never came out. After a second reminder request, the waiter came out with tuna sushi. There was a bit of an argument between the guys and the waiter that what he provided wasn’t Ikura. Finally, our waiter returned with the right thing. Again, the guys weren’t very happy. Aside from the loud music, this also had largely to do with the lack of knowledge the waiter had with Japanese sushi menu items. Though he was very nice and pleasant, he had no idea what the menu items were supposed to be or look like. A newbie should learn the menu before tackling this type of fanfare. HOWWASTHEFOODOVERALL? Everyone loved it and would go back. The only thing I noticed was one piece of tuna seemed to be on the edge of turn. Otherwise, everything tasted fresh and looked delicious in presentation. 18% SERVICECHARGE Tourist area brings tourist up charges. I’m never a fan of this. 10% OFF UnilocalERS — Food only — not liquor I pointed this out to our waiter as soon as we sat down. He said he would take care of it at the end of the dinner. When we were ready to cash out, the waiter came back with the full bill without the discount. We did remind him and he apologized and walked off with my phone to get approval from the manager. They did provide a corrected bill with the 10% discount. GRANDTOTAL — For six aggressive taste test eaters with 10% discount, the bill was $ 330.00.(Before discount: $ 360.00). Note: If you order a cocktail from their full bar, ask how much it is. We didn’t ask and I think a vodka drink was about $ 15, though I don’t recall exactly.)

I came to Tsukuro on a Friday night as was pleasantly surprised. Sure, as others have mentioned the prices for rolls are a little high(~$ 4 – 5 dollar over priced), but I think for the beach front location this is to be expected. It’s been super windy lately, so we requested to sit half way between the outside patio and inside(trying to keep my hair under control). Our server was very attentive and gave us just enough space to keep the conversation flowing, since it was clear conversation was on the agenda and not eating lol. We started off with a bottle of Mark West Pinot Noir which had a huge markup, but nothing out of the ordinary. And then decided to share the charred brussel sprouts and the BBQ calamari. The brussel sprouts were out of this world, and trust me I’m a pretty hard critic on brussel sprouts. The calamari wasn’t BBQ in any way and was a little bit lackluster — not crispy in any way and it came topped with a few random dollops of sriracha? and mayonnaise. If you know me, you know mayonnaise is big in my world, but it seemed a little strange in this setting. Ok, so on to the rolls. I strayed away from my usual and had the Heartbreaker roll. No complaints as it was pretty tasted. I also tried a few bites of the Endless Summer roll which is served riceless and found the fish to be very fresh. Grand total — about $ 10 each app, and $ 15 each roll, means $ 25 a person + wine/alcohol. Which, for the beach, really doesn’t seem awful to me. The dessert menu here was only 4 items, and none of which were particularly Japanese, or interested. So we skipped that, and headed elsewhere down the beach. Would I come back? Not as a first choice, but if I had friends in town who wanted to do the beach thing, absolutely. There’s a lot of items on the app/small plate list that sounded pretty intriguing!
