This place was interesting but not what I was expecting. A little cluttered and not that much space to sit inside. I had the banana split latte with soy milk and it was yummy! Great seating and view outside!

Aesthetically, this place is really nice but it definitely reeks of hipsters(not the good kind). It’s decorated very nicely and they have a variety of comfortable seating from couches to tables and patio seating. There are books everywhere and very cool artwork all over the walls and around the shop. The prices are also pretty fair, but I’m giving it three stars because the guy working the counter wasn’t very friendly and the drinks were not that great. Also, it’s filled with hipsters who are clearly competing for hipster dominance. Enter at your own risk.

I love how I found this place while looking for a little unique place to have some tea. It is very cozy and definitely not the typical coffee shop. I love the fact that they support local artists. It’s a great place to get cozy with a good book and some coffee or tea.

I came here with my boyfriend who doesn’t really like coffee, and he LOVED the Banana Split drink with strawberry. I got a Grasshopper latte and it was so great, if not better than Starbucks. The whole vibe of the place is great and it’s the coziest little spot to come study. Will definitely be coming back later at night with friends!

So different. Upstairs. It reminded me of the hippy days, but know there’s coffee lite bite, candy. It’s almost like a Starbucks only in the way we’re you get coffee and use your computer

Eclectic and cozy, drinks are awesome when made by certain staff. My favorite drink is PB&J, the owner made it for me once and she made exactly how it was suppose to taste, It hasn’t been the same since that time. My only suggestion, is to get everyone on staff, on the same page as far drink recipes. Other than that I love it! It’s an awesome place to people watch and relax.

This is a lovely little(big) hole in the wall. I walked in and was greeted with kisses by Luna, the resident dog patron. It was beautifully decorated with years of character. The barista was knowledgable and pleasant. The drinks were uniquely good. My friend and I got lattes, a white russian(white chocolate) and a marshmellow pumpkin pie(what!!!) latte. We sat down to play cards and were there for hours. While there we were treated like family by the owner and the regulars! Before leaving I grabbed one of my favorite author’s books off the shelf and stole it for a dollar! If I lived here, this would be my second home.

I read some the past reviews. People need to stop being offended by everything. Don’t bring a drink into a café! It says it on the doors! This place is mad chill and homey. Great place to come if you’re hungover and just want to watch a movie. Free wifi and a great variety of teas!

Terrible experience. Stopped in for a cup of coffee and to do some work. Waited for 10 mins for the cashier to deal with a situation with another customer(the place was at a about 25% capacity). Finally, when my turn came to order, I asked for a beverage and he informed me of a $ 10 credit card minimum… I asked if they had other items on the menu that I could purchase(as I had no cash) and his response was«everything is ridiculously cheap so I wouldn’t to waste your money…» My response was, so I shouldn’t get coffee? And he said no… What a waste of time! I would happily paid $ 10 for a good cup of coffee and snack but this place totally turned me off… wouldn’t recommend.

Tldr; dude literally refused to do his job because he was tired. I’ve been here a few times and it was awesome but the most recent time annoyed me. It was a saturday night, pretty busy when we walked in but we waited until it slowed down considerably before we ordered. My sister and I went to order tater tots and the nice girl up front said that the oven was full, ask again in 20 mins. Ok sweet. So we went back up in 20 minutes and asked again. The girl said yes and started ringing it in. Then this dude walks up and says«nope I’m not making any more tater tots» as if emptying frozen tater tots from a bag onto a tray and placing them in the oven is some sort of laborious task. I thought he was being sarcastic, because I’ve never been at a restaurant before where an employee just said«no I’m not making food for you» simply because he didnt want to. He wasn’t being sarcastic, he then went on to say he was tired of making tater tots. Okay. I’m floored at this point. Then, he yells out to the entire café: «NOMORETOTSFOR40MINUTES. AFTER40MINSHASPASSED, ILLTAKETHEFIRSTTHREEORDERSFIRSTCOMEFIRSTSERVE», then he’s just chilling around the place doing nothing. I’m not coming back here, needless to say. This guy was a total jerk.

If you’re not a hipster… but wanna view hipsters in their natural habitat, this is the place to go. If you are a hipster and wanna do hipster stuff in a hipster place, then go here… but be prepared for non-hipsters(ie. me) to stare at you. Be on your best hipster behavior because we are watching and studying your ways. I’m not even sure if hipster is still a term we can use because it seems like everyone’s trying to be sorta hipster, but if this was 2008 then this place would win the NHA(National Hipster Award, what? That’s definitely a real thing).

It’s funny it is called Undergrounds because it is sort of underground in a way, but it is actually above ground, in plain sight but hidden. You walk up an old set of stairs to a second story coffeehouse. It seems every alternative person(that you didn’t even know existed) in Broward gravitates to this scene. There was a bizarre arrangement of interesting items around the room and a Batman cartoon blaring from the screen. The barista didn’t quite fit in with the alternative scene and seemed like the last thing he wanted to be doing was making a cup of coffee. In fact, I almost got the sense he was fed up with the clientele. And we weren’t even dressed alternative… that day at least. The cup of coffee was okay, but I don’t know that we would go back.

I have been coming to Undergrounds since 2008 when it was at its original location on Oakland Park Blvd east of Federal Hwy. It’s one of the coolest hangouts you can frequent whether you’re looking for coffee, tater tots, or just relax. Few«coffee houses/bars» have the type of look like Undergrounds where it feels like it’s been there for decades. Undergrounds is like the secret clubhouse with its patchwork interior of cushy nooks and outdoor balcony to hangout, read a book, do work, or hang out with friends. Here, you can come as you are. Great drinks, great people, great vibe and atmosphere with no pretense or bs. It’s why I still frequent the place all these years later.

As soon as we walk in «You can’t drink that in here.» «But it’s just water.» «Doesnt matter…» Greeted by a little goblin man in pajamas leading with so much negativity. Major bad vibes immediately from this place. And cutting me off to get into the bathroom before me so he can take a shit. No need to come back…

At Undergrounds, the employees are always friendly. The informal vibe of the place makes it a nice hang out spot if you’re looking to relax. However, the crowd Coffeehaus attracts on weekend nights might make that difficult. It’s incredibly crowded in the small shop, by rather irritating scene kids. I’ve always enjoyed the tater tots that Undergrounds advertises, but the coffee is passable. I usually get bacon and cheese tots with an iced Grasshopper and I’m satisfied.

You know what? I’m full of **it. To be clear, I sustain all of my previous observations. For a cappuccino here to be solid, you NEED to get the extra shot(s) of espresso, and service-wise it’s pretty informal. But I’ve already been here about 4 times, and not against my will, if I’m going to be perfectly honest. I LOVE it. I DO. Sue me, but there’s something about it! It’s an energy, a vibe. There’s a comfort to it, in more ways than just comfy furniture. The last 3 times I’ve been here, Kathryn has been behind the counter, too. She’s kind, and definitely handles customers better. They were showing the(original) movie«Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory» just minutes ago. I mean, where else can you work on your computer, while listening and occasionally glancing at a 1971 psychedelic-ish movie musical in the background, and inevitably overhearing some dude bragging about his(not at all accurate!) Welsh accent with an easily impressionable girl? I mean, this is GOLD! Writer’s paradise? I get it. It’s a haus, guys. A mother. Freakin’. HAUS!

I have been coming here for years, this was my first hipster coffee shop experience back in high school(sniff…memories). Undergrounds is a tater tot institution. Seriously, where else can you get the perfect meal of salty tater tots and peanut butter cup coffee? I’ve seen Undergrounds change layouts over the years, but this shop has always kept its grandma-hipster-beatnick-knitting club-laid back vibe. Where else can you sit on someone else’s incredibly comfy couch as you drink coffee and snack on homemade cookies? I love Undergrounds. It feels like you’re at your best friend’s aunt’s house, mooching off their TV and snacks. Undergrounds is the place you go when you just want to sit and relax without any overly complicated drinks or fanciness. They’re classic coffees, teas, tater tots and other casual snacks done right. I will always head here when I’m looking for something comforting, cozy and quick. It always manages to feel like you’re right at home, if your house had tons of board games, books, trinkets and the coolest rose-patterned carpeting.

This little coffee shop is an atmospheric gem. It has lots of character, tons of books and looks like the type of shop a beatnik poet would inhabit. The brewed coffee was ok, not the best but ok and the shop itself is kinda cool. I may stop in again. Unlike most coffee shops they open late(Noon, 4pm on Sundays) and stay open till 11:30.

I’ve been eyeing this place for awhile and finally decided to check it out on a Friday night. It was a charming and quirky place upstairs with books, lights, and all sorts of things going on everywhere. It’s definitely not your average café– it’s more like you’re at someone’s house. It’s a place where people go to socialize, play games, watch TV, and a few even study(although I don’t recommend it because the noise can be distracting & there are only a few small tables). Even so, I like this place because it’s unique and a good place to hang out. Why two stars? I was expecting high quality coffee from a place like this. Sadly, the coffee didn’t particularly get my taste buds going. I ordered a hazelnut latte and it just tasted like flavored milk. I tried the grasshopper latte and was disappointed again.
