A little on the salty side but what do you expect it is seafood right? The Cajun seasoning can be better but isnt too bad. Great service and cute décor.

It’s like the The Boil in Manhattan, except cheaper, better service and without the 2 hour wait.(I’m not disparaging The Boil though. It’s a great place). The Boiling Pot is, however in Jersey, so you gotta weigh these things. Love the kitschy fish shack décor. It looks like it should be next to a beach instead of Fort Lee. It was quite empty on a Saturday night. Our server was very friendly and attentive, He actually put our lobster bibs(more like aprons) on us and helped us with our gloves. We ordered a combo seafood boil, which came with crab legs, crawfish, shrimp, mussels, clams, potatoes, corn on the cob, sausages, and Korean rice cakes(that last one is obviously a Fort Lee bonus item). We chose the garlic butter over the Cajun seasoning. You can also have as much free rice as you like, but we skipped that. Why fill up your stomach with carbs when you could be eating more seafood? The seafood was fresh and delicious. The crab legs were huge. I liked the crab, crawfish, and mussels the best, though the sausage added some nice meatiness and salt to the meal. It was a very fun meal to eat, as you eat right off the paper covered table and things get messy. With some very decent cocktails, this was a very enjoyable meal.

This place was so accommodating! On Thanksgiving, we were too lazy to cook and were craving Boiling Crab. We called ahead to make sure they were open and asked when they would close. We were told that they planned to close around our ETA. When asked if it was our first time, she told us that she would tell the kitchen to wait for us. When we arrived, we were literally the only people there. We felt horrible that we made everyone stay longer on Thanksgiving, but everyone was extremely friendly. They assured us that it wasn’t a big deal. Even while ordering and while we dined, everyone was very patient. Don’t forget that a check-in on Unilocal gives you a free beer! We ordered the combo seafood boil for two. It includes crab, crawfish, shrimp, mussels, clams, potatoes, corn on the cob, rice cakes, and sausages(not sure if I’m missing anything.) When talking to our server, she told us that they were slightly different from Boiling Crab. They were olive oil based and the boil requires a six hour recipe. While we were waiting for our food, she gave us kettle popcorn. When our food arrived, we immediately dove in. The crab and shrimp were a bit soggy. Perhaps the seafood was precooked or had boiled for a bit too long. Regardless, everything tasted really good. We actually preferred this cajun sauce for its simplicity. It tasted less heavy and allowed us to actually taste the seafood. Tools to help crack the crab, as well as gloves were provided. Afterwards, you can order pasta to add to your bag. It comes already slightly tossed with a bit of vegetables, and you can add some parmesan to it. Though I really enjoyed the seafood, I’ve actually been craving the pasta a lot! Overall, our experience was absolutely wonderful!

Hidden Gem. The wife and I have been here several times. Good service and food! They offer free white rice with your meal. Definitely a great spot if your into seafood and spice. We’ve usually order the platter for 4, what we don’t finish we take home with us. The place offers free bottle of beer if you check in on Unilocal. The Beer is a lot cheaper than other places. Would highly recommend this place.

Well after searching my Unilocal yesterday afternoon I ran across this local gem in Fort Lee. I must say having seafood and smoked assortment of meats was great go to for a last-minute Sunday dinner.

DONOTTRUSTTHEVALET! The Valet guy took my iPhone Charger, I called the manager but no response at all. The Food is mediocre, I think they are using frozen seafood judging by the Crab+ Crawfish’s quality. but it’s great if you go in group!

This place is excellent. Decently priced, friendly staff, and meaty crab legs. I came here three times within the past two months and ordered Deal A, surprisingly filling for two. Parking is limited(see lot on the left side of building), claim your free bottle of beer via Unilocal, and be sure to wear stretchy pants ;)

Great concept. You get a big bag of sea food in Cajun spices for a decent price with beer included. My husband and I stumbled upon this place by mistake when we were visiting a street fair on the same block. The restaurant had the brilliant idea of turning it’s parking lot into outside seating for the day of the fair. It’s a pretty nice touch for a beautiful day out… The place was busy and the service a bit slow. Don’t think thy expected this much traffic. Food was good. Got a plastic apron and gloves. 4 stars because of the wait and mix up in our order. Would come here again.

The place looked great. We went to the boiling pot, but we were also able to order food from JD’s Steak Pit, which was located downstairs. I ordered their brisket, which truly tasted amazing! The downfall was that the server gave me the brisket before even getting our drinks. I ordered garlic mashed potatoes, but they didn’t come out until probably 20 minutes later. I ate my brisket by itself because I didn’t want it getting cold. Afterwards, they brought our appetizers and drinks. The calamari was EH. I order calamari at every restaurant I go to because I love it so much, but this place had the worst calamari yet. The cajun fries were GOOD. After that we got our Plan B bag of seafood. My boyfriend said the crawfish tasted like a decaying carcass, but that just may be because he doesn’t like the taste of crawfish. He ate it anyway, he’ll eat anything that was once living. Anyway, our table agreed that the crab legs were the best part of the bag. We came late night, there was about 4 tables occupied. There was one server. The server was super slow. I had to eat my brisket with my hands because he wasn’t around for me to ask for a fork. Also, it took a while to call him over so we can get a refill of our soda and waters. This place could’ve been great. They need to bring out the food in a timely manner. I was mad that I had to eat my brisket and potatoes 20 minutes apart. If I was the server, I wouldn’t have brought out the brisket before even getting our drinks. He should’ve known better. The owner of the place is a young looking asian lady. She was super sweet! I’d come again just to support her. There was also unlimited free white rice you can pick up yourself. This is a great idea, especially for those filipinos that can’t go to bed without eating some rice with their meal! OVERALL, my only complaints is the calamari and our server!

Dozen raw clams, order of wings, Cajun boil with crab legs with pasta thrown in at the end. Yum. Gracious service tops it off.

Cleanest oysters I’ve ever had!!! Such a fun experience, we ordered plan b for 4 people and there was more than enough food ! Would definitely go back in a heart beat. Suggestion don’t bring a first date there bc you eat with gloves on your hands. Boiling pot!!! Also– people that say this place is lacking in flavor are extremely wrong. Ordering chicken at a seafood place is probably not a good play.

Check in and you get a free beer? Why not?! Ordered a mixture of rice cake, sausage crawfish, shrimp, corn and king crab legs. The taste was very bland here and very oily. We felt like we were eating food that has been lying in a bag of literally bland oil. They could have used a lot more old bay seasoning, lemons, and generally a lot more spices in their recipe. If you’re looking for a replacement to the one you’ve had in Los Angeles(Boiling Crab) go to the one in NYC(The Boil).

This place serves southern style seafood(and sausage) marinated in southern spices(cajun I guess). Cook it in a pot and bring it on a bag. Gets very messy but fun. I have tried here twice, first for some end of the year party and second time with friends from work. In my first time, it was a special party occasion, the food was set already and we didn’t really try those seafood. In my second time, when we went there it was relatively good. It would have been great, but an incident made everything kinda awkward. So one of our party couldn’t have any meat including sausage for religious reasons, so when we ordered it we specifically told the server twice that sausage not to be cooked together and mixed together with other seafood to which he said ok. When the food came out however, sausage was indeed in the bag with other stuff. We were a little irritated because we specifically told him twice. The server initially looked apologetic, but then somehow he started telling us to «chill out»(I think he got really nonplussed and blurted those words out by accident), which really didn’t help resolve the matter at all. We became even more irked at that time, then another server and manager(I think) came out and apologized and set up the dinner for our friend without the sausage with no extra charge(we were gonna buy another portion for our friend anyway, but they offered to do it for free. She also offered a couple of appetizers on the house. the rest of the night was uneventful, but now we became all awkward because that server still was hanging out and serving other customers, and we looked like people who complained about nothing to take advantage of the ownership. Nothing would have happened if the food came out with sausage separately in the first place. We still tipped them with regular(15−20%) rate because other than that incident the service was ok. I guess it is rare to make such requests at this restaurant, but I hope the servers understand that observing religious customs is a big deal for people who believe in it.

Dig this place’s atmosphere and really want to give it a good review but I have to say the cajun seasoning wasn’t on the top tier. First it is lacking flavor. I was really excited to learn there are fish cakes and rice cakes in the seafood mix but they are super bland. Salt would help. In addition, they seemed to use a lot of hot oil in the seasoning which made it a little greasy and less healthy. Good service and good concept. Improve on the food and I’ll definitely come back!

I was super excited to see this restaurant come up on my Unilocal list when I searched for seafood. I knew I wouldn’t get the boiling crab I had been craving but it was quite disappointing. Like really disappointing. I ordered a beer, chicken wings and crawfish in spicy cajun boil. The beer was the best part… The chicken wings were okay– i would eat them again but I would not come here to just eat wings. Most importantly, the crawfish was so disappointing. The crawfish was not fresh at all. The meat was hard and rough. It was definitely frozen and/or old. The cajun spice wasn’t even spicy and it was just really oily with no flavors. The crawfish didn’t have enough flavoring to go with it so it all just tasted really bland and chewy(the bad kind of chewy for seafood). Maybe it was the hype from all the good reviews on Unilocal but flavor and quality for the boil was just too disappointing.

Great spot in Jersey for some boiling crab. Large top floor restuarant with plenty of seating and the service was great. They even attended to help us put on our crab eating bibs for us. Nice apps with the fried calamari and french fries. The go to item though is the boiling crab bags. It comes with snow crab legs, potatos, sausage, shrimp, korean rice cake, corn, and crawfish. You can always ask to add some more ingredients of your choice at a extra cost. Bags are ordered by how many people will be eating it. They even provide free rice which is self serve. Fresh seafood and had a great spicey kick. You can even order it to differing spice levels. Use your Unilocal check in as well for a free selected choices of beer.

My first time here! I can say it’s amazing!!! It was an experience from the money you come inside and the decoration, takes you into a beachy theme with umbrellas, sea shells and many awesome decorations! The food is awesome!!! Really fresh tasting seafood! Just be aware is HOT!!! So you must be a spicy food fan to enjoy this because it will leave your lips tingling The amount served is great!!! And the service!!! OMG! OUTSTANDING!!! The two workers there were so welcoming to me and my bf and teach us about the menu and how to enjoy our food wearing gloves and aprons and told us about adding pasta at the end for only $ 5 that will get marinated with the Cajun juice of your seafood left and added Parmesan cheese!(delish) I enjoy everything about this place and I will be coming back very often!!! Don’t forget to check in and unlock your free beer for Unilocalers!!! That was pretty cool!!!

what a great place to have some beer and seafood! The inside area is awesomely decorated, and I loved it all. The beer selection was so so so good. I tried two different beers and I have to say they were my favorite beers I have ever had! Like ever! With the Unilocal check in you get a bottle of beer so that’s awesome. They have great draft deals too but they did not have draft available this time. The menu is simple. You get a variety of items in a bag and it’s 3 different choices basically on how many people you have. They also have by the pound of seafood if you prefer to do that but the deals they have is so good. If you buy it separate it ends up being pricey. The only drawback I would say is they need to add tons more of the sauce in the bag, Add more seasoning add more spices, and this place would be the jam. I would get a piece of meat out and I wish I had more of the flavoring to dip it in. We ended the meal with a lava cake and stout ice cream which they just gave us the special ice cream since we were celebrating a Bday! The customer service was also so awesome here, We couldn’t decide on an app or the main dish and the waiter was standing there so patiently and offered assistance when needed!
