Have been coming by here for years since I live in the area. Not sure if the ownership changed or just the service. Sushi is good for take out. Prices are very reasonable but customer service was unacceptable. I stopped by the other night to place a quick take out order. I was interrupted twice while placing the order. Order was made incorrectly and when i tried to question, was given an awful attitude. Finally I agreed to take whatever was ready and pay for it.(As I was with a toddler who was cranky and tired). At the end as I was walking out I said thank you and have a good night. Owner turned her head and walked away. Businesses like this one rely on locals and should pay more attention to customer service. Or just smile. :-).

I’m surprised I haven’t reviewed this place before. This place has been a consistent go-to for fresh sushi since I was in high school. It’s a bit of a hole-in-the-wall place, not the kind of place you’d want to bring a date. Just a few tables in the cold, bare bones interior. Definitely a take-out spot. The fish is good quality — never have I had an unsavory or smelly piece. The people who work there are very nice from my experience. I appreciate the consistency they have shown over the years. I recently moved to a building right down the street, so they will be seeing a lot of me in the future.

My family and I were visiting New Jersey from out of state and read the reviews about this place and decided to check it out because we were starving for some good sushi. When we got there, the place was empty and the husband/wife owners stood behind the counter. We sat down to look at the menu and saw that the majority of the offerings were basic take out rolls and nigiri. We were looking for more traditional sushi(uni, sweet shrimp, toro, etc). Not their fault, they just didn’t serve that kind. So we politely told them we were looking for something different and left. On our way out, I look back and the owners wife flips us off. Not once but TWICE! We had three children with us as well but that didn’t stop her from being upset and rude that we left. I can’t speak for the food since we didn’t end up eating there but come on, really? Did she have to give us the bird in front of our kids? I can only imagine the type of service this place would provide during a normal dining experience.

While they have tables, it’s just basic dine-in décor. Go for the takeout. Very fresh delicious sushi and sashimi. Reasonable prices, friendly and fast service. You’ll never go to Mitsuwa again for overpriced stale, disgusting sushi.

Delicious sushi, tons of variety and a very clean dining area but it has gotten expensive! Still one of the best places to get sushi in the area.

I haven’t gotten anything else except the hew-dup-bap(Korean raw fish entrée with vegetables and rice — more like a salad with rice and spicy sauce) and the salmon combo, but it’s so good every time I get it! I can’t imagine the other items being far from good — they seem to do one thing and do it well. If you’re looking for typical sauced up type of sushi/fish meals(like salmon teriyaki etc), it’s not your place– they only do sushi(nothing cooked). It’s fresh, clean and quick. You can eat-in. No frills type of place. The service is friendly.

I have been coming here for years and it’s still the same little old man making my favorite rolls. I love how fresh the rolls taste and how affordable they are. My brother and I ordered 4 rolls to share. This included the volcano roll, spider roll, spicy tuna crunch, and yellow tail. We devoured it all in about 10 minutes. Love this place for a quick bite to eat!

It a small place, the exterior doesn’t really pop out at you so you might miss it. But I gotta say, the sushi was pretty darn good. Rice was perfect texture, the fish was fresh. If you want a more eat and go kinda deal and not spend time waiting for food and spending time in a restaurant, then this is the place. It is good fast sushi! I went in today with my friend on this snowy day where everywhere else was closed and came out a happy customer:) will definitely come again and again for good sushi!

Fantastic place. My fiancé and I used to come here every day on his lunch breaks when he worked in Fort Lee. The owners are very warm and welcoming and their food is absolutely amazing.

Totally unnoticeable, I’ve been here a few times but I keep forgetting it’s around. Need to remember so I can add it to my list of rotating dinner options. Great for picking up a quick dinner on the way home. Basic rolls are $ 5 – 6 and special rolls can go up to $ 10. I got a yellowtail + scallion roll plus a dragon roll(california topped with baked salmon) for $ 16. Restaurant is pretty bare bones, it’s pretty much just the sushi bar where they make your rolls and a few wooden tables. It was empty when I went but as I was waiting there was a steady stream of pick up customers which made me think they had a lot of regulars(they were all greeted familiarly). Fish cuts were big and tasted fresh. Comes with a miso soup. I’ve also ordered sashimi/sushi platters in the past which definitely give you bang for your buck. I got one for 3 – 4 people(I thin I paid around $ 50-$ 60) and it fed my party of 6 and then some(I brought it for a potluck and we did have other food items. might have been finished if we didn’t have those other items to eat as well). but I remember it being super fresh and everyone loving it.

Consistently good sushi at a very reasonable price. We take out from here pretty much once every couple of weeks, and have never been disappointed. The seating is minimalist, so we have rarely eaten in.

Consistently delicious, high-quality sushi with friendly service and great prices. Been getting sushi from here appx once a month for a couple of years now– my husband and are sushi addicts– and it has never once disappointed. Don’t let the plain looking restaurant fool you — this place offers amazing food and great service. The NY roll is the best roll I’ve ever tasted, and I never see anything quite like it at other sushi restaurants.

Really good sushi place. I’ve been going here for a few years, and my brother has been a customer for over ten years. The sushi is always fresh, tasty, and plentiful. In addition, it is also very affordable. I rarely spend over $ 12 here for a roll combo and a drink. The owners are very nice and polite. They always seem to do their best to make a customer happy.

I was very disappointed. Very rude women was trying to serve us. They where out of almost everything what I ordered and when I ask what they had for me to order, she got very mad and turned red on her face. I had to leave the place even I was very hungry and just drove from Washington DC. This people are ruining This country’s greatest costumer service. Nina

hands down best sushi in area! i moved to cliffside park in november and i would say i get sushi at least once a week. The rolls are always super fresh and delicious. I usually get california roll, tuna roll and bonsai roll, i also tried miso soup and avocado salad which are delicious as well. The owners are very nice and friendly

If you are looking for a «cheap and cheerful» sushi spot, this is it. The New York roll is surprisingly good with the bits of fresh apple. The place is clean and has enough tables. I think the guy running it is Korean. It reminds me of a sushi place in Queens, also run by a Korean family, that I used to frequent. So I’m glad to find my new go-to for good, cheap sushi rolls!

It’s sushi house. Duh I’ve been going here for years and the quality has never let me down once. The sushi is relatively inexpensive, they’re quick, polite and for some reason this empty place makes a great place to dine in for a quick sushi meal.
