This review is for the guided horseback trail ride. Took my friends out yesterday and everyone had a fantastic time. I always take out of town guests on trail rides. We used to use another company; but I’m going to start using this company instead. The horses are livelier and more cooperative. The guides actually enjoy interacting with other people.

This is a review for the Friday Night Frank’s experience hosted by Ft. McDowell Adventures at this location. From Labor Day through Memorial Day every Friday evening something magical happens at this Alamo-like encampment 4 miles’ worth of dirt road off of the Beeline highway: Gas fire pits are ignited, hayrides start circulating, weenies start getting roasted and marshmellows get toasted. And most of all: Kids get to run their butts off playing games, exploring an old Western-town set, dancing to live Western music, and overall just having a great time being kids. It all takes place under an open canopy-like structure featuring a stage and dance floor and picnic tables surrounding several fire pits. Though admission is free, the money is made in the sale of food and drink packages. $ 10 gets you a hotdog, two softdrinks, a bag of chips, and fixings for a s’more. $ 15 buys a brot, two beers, a bag of chips, and yes – s’more fixings. Borrow a metal cooking fork(supplied) and get to work roasting weenies. It’s like camp all over again. Drinks and food are also available ala carte. The payoff for this not-entirely-cheap price is that kids get to socialize and have a great time in a place where they aren’t going to run out into traffic or get abducted by gypsies(probably). I turned my 5-year-old loose with his cousins in confidence that it’s hard to get into too much trouble here(unlike Peter Piper Pizza or Dave and Busters, for instance). It’s a nice family crowd and one of the few places where Mom and Dad(or whatever) can relax with a beer or two while letting the kids enjoy life a bit. Highly recommended!
