Has a good array of firearms courses from rookie gun owner to emergency tactics if assaulted or molested. All the instructors are NRA qualified and really know their stuff. They are local, so their classes have a lot of humor and joking around, but when it comes to safety and the law they are pointedly serious. I took the SC concealed carry course. All day covering 8 hours of instruction in gun safety, laws governing weapons, concealed carry rules and personal protection and going to the range to fire 50-round firing course at varying ranges. You had to demonstrate your shooting proficiency and your knowledge of firearms safety. Although the state only requires a 70% score on the written test and on the range, Carolina Handgun Academy will not issue a graduation certificate unless you score 80% on both areas. They are not fooling around, but will allow those that do not pass to come in at another date to re-take the test of to re-qualify on the range. Check out their web site for more info on classes.
