This place is so yummy! We love them so much we are having them at my kid’s birthday next weekend. The staff is very nice and helpful. Not a better shaved ice in NC

Turns out this place isn’t too far from Ballantyne and therefore not a bad drive for me. My boyfriend loves shaved ice and he thought the only one around was up in North Charlotte. So I decided to see if I could find one closer to us and surprise him. Sure enough I came across this gem and the reviews were all really good and their FB page was full of awesome supportive people. So Friday night we drove down and the girl working there was lovely and helpful(I’m very indecisive lol). Their prices are ridiculously low(make sure you bring cash!!). Also if you buy one of their Plastic cups(I forgot their name but it’s huge) for $ 10 you can bring it back on every return visit and fill it up for $ 2. Obviously we took advantage of that! We will definitely be back throughout the summer to try more flavors :) Love supporting local places like this especially when they live up to their reputation :)

A small shed renovated to be a small business doling out snow cone-type treats right across the South Carolina border? Sign me up. It’s exactly what you’d think. Expansive menu that covers every bit of the child-found-wanting-sugar spectrum. Nothing wrong with a little«Spider Man» or «Tidal Wave» or «Godzilla» flavors. What do each taste like, you ask? Your guess is as good as mine. Kind of a conglomeration of every candy, cheap juice, and sour candy under the sun. Best part? It’s cheap. Beyond cheap, in fact. The«small» is more like the size of what an extra, extra large was in 1991… for $ 2. It’s not even fair. The large is basically a bucket. You need a small trowel to eat out of that sucker. It’s awesome. There are some chairs and picnic tables adjacent to the shack. Great summertime spot. Cheers.

Invited by friends on the spur of the moment last night, we had our first experience at Jack’s. And it was awesome. They have a plethora of flavors from which to choose, or in my case, stand paralyzed in front of the menu. I went with a dynamite combination: granny smith apple and lemon lime. Our friends’ kids were surprised that I would order without slurping a couple of samples, but I was confident in my choice. Also amazing is the fact that kids sizes are $ 1 and the small is $ 2. Super cheap, but bring cash because they don’t take cards. Here’s the thing… if you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll drive right past. We did. It’s just past the INSP compound, City of Light, if you’re heading south. There’s a tiny strip mall… and it’s a small bluish stand. Plentiful seating outside, which is covered. Overall, if I were in the Fort Mill/Indian Land/Waxhaw area, I would totally frequent this place. As it is, it’s a long drive just for shave ice.

Yummy shaved ice, great price, tons of flavors(many available in sugar free), and fantastic service. It is ran by the sweetest family who puts all of their money earned toward their child’s college fund. Love everything about it!

Forget the national chains, this family-owned business has something for everyone. Don’t get intimidated by the huge shaved ice selections… ask for a sample and try something new. My whole family likes combining flavors from traditional Orange Dreamcicle or Rootbeer to more exotic flavors like Tiger’s Blood or Toxic Waste. Add on the cream topping… yum. Run by an awesome, super-friendly family with generous servings at a reasonable price. You will not be disappointed! Oh… and they also do birthday parties and special events… even weddings!

Jack’s is the best Hawaiian Shave Ice house in town. They have an excellent selection, including many Sugar Free varieties(which I prefer), their portions are very generous and reasonably priced, and they refer to it as Shave Ice(not Shaved Ice or Sno Cones). Shave Ice is a Hawaiian term and since I have a special place in my heart for authentic Hawaiian Shave Ice, I appreciate the terminology. I especially like that this is a small family-owned business that was started by a teenager looking to built up his College Fund. Kudos to you, Jack!

Jack’s Ice House is a great treat for kids of all ages! The flavors are great… try Wedding Cake… my personal favorite! My girls like to create their own favors by mixing two or more to create their signature ice! If your watching your calories… the sugar free favors are awesome! A sweet refreshing way to cool off!
