I was overcharged for gas today, December 5th, 2015 @ 2:18PM. I was getting gas at Millers Produce @ 3660 Hwy 51, Fort Mill, SC29715 @ pump #5. The pump said that 17.868 gallons of regular gas was purchased, but my car can only hold up to 17.1 gallons. I drive a 2006 Acura TSX and the fuel capacity is clearly stated in the manual. I drove to the gas station. Even if I was towed, the absolute most that my tank could hold is 17.1 gallons. I spoke to the cashiers about it and they didn’t issue any refund. One lady cashier was saying, «Whatever! What do you want me to do!» Another was saying that I was close. I figure I was short about at least a gallon. And the last cashier gave me the Department of Agriculture’s Consumer Services contact.

I frequent Millers to get gas, but I never go inside. Today I decided to go see what they had and um, wow. Its around 6:00pm on Saturday and its not busy. Random old guys sitting in booths staring at me was the first thing I noticed, it felt super creepy. I saw produce and fireworks along with tons of beer & wine selections. The cases of glass bowls displayed alongside brass knuckles was oddly centered in the space that had different registers scattered around it to pay for different items… OK? Weird. Jars of pickled pigs feet sitting beside $ 13 mason jars of honey. Sloppy handwritten signs taped everywhere, one said something about knowing which gas pump you’re at because they’re not responsible for someone else taking your gas. Another to count back your change as after you leave the register area they’re not responsible for it being correct. This place definitely does NOT have a women’s touch in any way shape or form. Not at all welcoming and I won“t ever make the mistake of going back inside again… only gas from now on.

Gas for about .30-.40+ cheaper a gallon than Charlotte and a great beer selection. I pulled up on a Sunday, so I wasn’t sure if I could buy beer or not, SC is weird. There were probably about 20 pumps to choose from so I’m sure this place stays busy, especially for how close to NC and how cheap the gas is. The inside of the store is half beer mart and then some other trinkets and gifts with a very small section for your basic gas station candy. Some produce, but it was out of season, assume that selection will grow. There is an ABC store next door and I guess thats about all I have to say about that.

I go just for the gas. If you’re down in the Pineville area, this is right over the border and offers some of the cheapest gas around, often at least 20 cents cheaper than anything in Charlotte. At first you might be deceived by the lines for gas in front of the store but look to the right of the store and you’ll see more pumps in a line and there’s hardly ever a wait there because no one knows they are there or they think it’s for the trucks only. It also looks like they are building more pumps. So these stores that once tempted us with video poker and Powerball now lure us NC folk with cheap gas and cheap booze. It works for me! Make a run for the border!
