I was saddened by this experience and will not be returning. The restaurant itself was very clean and roomy, tho the look and feel was very Older person(hard to explain what that means) I was the youngest person in there other then the owners grandchild who was being babysat after school(I like the family orientated, local owner part) and a couple who came in as we were leaving. The Food was a huge let down; The dumplings if you want to call them that, were uneatable. Nothing on the plate had any seasoning or real flavor, everything was very bland. The price was good but the food was awful. The plaza it is in, is all run down much like every place down by the beach. Thank goodness we had a coupon for half off the second dinner and even then we felt that wasn’t enough. I hate writing this review because I love family owners restaurants with the non corp. feel. It had good service and ran like a well oiled machine but the food compared to other German/Austrian food restaurants in the area to choose to dine at are better other then wasting your time eating here.

We have had two great meals here in the last week. Our favorite meals are the Yager Schnitzel with spaesle and a side salad. We also enjoy the Heife Vinsen German Beer. The size of the meal permits us to eat half of the schnitzel and take the other half home. Of course we buy a side of spaesle to take home to go with the schnitzel. The German couple who brought the restaurant last year have improved the food quality of the restaurant. The service has always been good. Please excuse my spelling.

My husband and I went in and had a wonderful time. I would say if you are going during season to make a reservation. The food came out warm and was delicious, we even took home extra red cabbage. This is a small, family run restaurant that was charming. I will totally go back and bring friends. I got the chicken schnitzel and my husband the veal, and do not miss the potato pancakes. Much better food than any chain restaurant.

Great prices excellent Austrian food very authentic. They have Austrian beers like Stegel and Gasser on tap. Very reasonably priced don’t get spooked by the location in an old strip mall. This place is for real and can’t beat the value.

The jäger schnitzel was delicious with a well seasoned onion mushroom gravy. The pork was tender with the breading fried to a golden crispy brown. The red cabbage side was delicious with generous clove seasoning. Potato pancakes were light and crispy and not greasy served with sour cream and applesauce. The new owners work hands on as chef and server. Would give it five stars but we were a little disappointed with the liver dumpling and goulash soups. One was lukewarm and the goulash broth was a little too thin for my preference.

Very nice place in an unfortunate location. Good food, friendly service; the sauerbraten was quite tasty, as was my wife’s goulash. The strip center it’s located in was mostly closed(at 5:30 on a Saturday) so not much synergy there. As a result, the restaurant was mostly empty. Hopefully it was just because it’s out of season.

Food passable, but we rate restaurants on their bread. a detail that shouldn’t be ignored since it is the first item brought to the table. Couldn’t break the bread open. over microwaved and stale.

Very authentic small place good food and family run in a strip mall. Every thing I and family have had been very good. Not modern and hot but still honestly good. Hope they can stay busy enough to keep open since they care about serving authentic German food

Hey listen, all the reviews are very good except for one. sounds like she was in a bad mood. Bottom line is that the food is good, it is prepared for you fresh. I have eaten here 3 times since mid May. I have had the schnitzel, the goulash, and the stuffed cabbage. All authentic, although I do like stuffed cabbage a little more sweet and sour. Never the less, it is very good. The potato pancakes are very tasty, though I would have liked them a little larger. All in all, no real serious complaints, I am returning tonight

Atmosphere: cheap, outdated, smells like you eat next to the fryer Area: surrounded by nothing(Dollar General for trailer park residents) Clientele: 70+ with coupons Service: grouchy Austrian owner, who can’t wait to move back Food: Schnitzel, Apple Strudel ok, but nothing special. Potato Salad not authentic, Americanized. Austrians NEVER eat a breaded Schnitzel with ANY sauce on top. That’s the biggest insult to Austrian cuisine. It’s so sad that anybody thinks they can run a restaurant business and all they do is take your money, don’t even make you feel good about it and don’t care.

Delicious schnitzel and spaezel, but do not be late. They close early when the crowd lessens and the beer runs out. The setting is simple, but the food is excellent. Nice people and tasty pork or veal weinerschnitzel with many options ranging from plain to covered with cheese and ham.

We came here quite by accident. The German restaurant recommended to us was closed so we tried this one based on a Unilocal search. The main courses were excellent — schnitzel and goulash. There were probably 10+ different schnitzels in pork, veal or chicken. The only disappointment were the average rolls, not good German«chewy» bread. Try this restaurant. If you like authentic German cuisine you won’t be disappointed.

We try to come here yearly… it is our fave!!! The Schnitzel House is part of an annual holiday tradition for my family. The night after Christmas, we all gather here, get stuffed on the BESTSCHNITZEL and bier and then go play mini golf. Hands down the best Schnitzel I have had anywhere. I have tried various versions of schnitzel here and they are all WUNDABAR! My fav sides are definitley the spaetzle, red cabbage, potato pancakes and sauerkraut. This place is a hole in the wall so dont expect much in the way of ambiance or décor. It is located in a strip mall, the lighting is weird and there are posters on the wall look like they were salvaged from a travel agency from the 80s. All of this doesnt matter though… the food is THAT good If you are in the area definitley come here! and the staff is so welcoming.

What a cute little German restaurant. My wife’s family all being German and us going there every year, I have definately had my experience with true German cooking and this is really it. The restaurant is decorated nicely, very nice atmosphere. Server was very attentive and provided much better service than you would get in Germany. Very sad that this place doesn’t get more business. The only thing I would say may not help business was the heat inside. The A/C has either been broken both times we’ve been there(2 months apart) or they don’t turn it on to a tolerable temp to make it comfortable. Hope this hidden gem stays around. Not too many good places to get a nice schnitzel or saurbraten.

Traditional German food at a great price. Basic but clean restaurant, all traditional menu(schnitzel, sausages, etc). Great alternative to all the«beach food» in the area. Keep in mind they are closed for the summer(I think they reopen on Sept 8th)

I went here with my son this week. They allow you to make any of their meals a kids meal. He loved the frankfurter with applesauce and fries. He loved it. I got the pirogues. They were really good. The owner was nice and gave great service. We will be back.

Went here while on vacation Jan 2013. After eating fried Grouper and Fries all week and other assorted fast food restaurants that think they are high end, sit down places, this place is a pleasure to eat in. It is family run, clean as a whistle, the food is very, very good. The service is excellent. The owners wife is the chef, and she knows what she is doing.
