On 11÷3÷15 my driver called me and expressed concern that the United Water Restoration vehicle #43 he was driving had started knocking and the oil light came on. He stopped and checked the oil. Oil level was fine. I called the Operations manager in the area and advised him to find a garage close to where the truck was so we didn’t need to tow it. They took it to C Marks Auto Repair right down the street. I called the next day and spoke with C Mark to see what they had discovered. He told me it was the exhaust manifold leaking and there was no oil pressure problem. I questioned that because of the oil pressure light but he assured me the engine was fine and just needed a new manifold gasket and bolt. They also changed the oil by mistake but didn’t charge us for that. I approved the repairs and they called me when it was done on 11÷2÷15 for a payment of $ 397.99 My driver and op manager went and picked it up on 11÷2÷15. After driving for less than 10 miles the motor started knocking again and the driver stopped and called me again. I called C Mark and they had it towed back to their shop. Sometime later I received a call from them saying the engine was gone and it needed a new one. Needless to say I wasn’t happy and expressed my frustration with them miss diagnosing the problem and possibly causing us to replace the engine instead of fixing what was wrong with it the first time. He said they looked at the oil and it had metal in it. Since he had just changed the oil I asked if there was metal in it when they changed it and he said they hadn’t noticed it. C Marks wouldn’t take any responsibility for anything and said he would give us a $ 200 credit towards the new engine for the previous repair that they did. So after much deliberation on our part and being that we are located 300 miles away we decided to just have them replace the engine so we could get the truck back in service. While they were working on it I had them also do a transmission flush. They did get the repair done quickly and called on 11÷10÷15 and said it was ready for pickup. ON11÷11÷15 myself and the operations manager went and picked up the van. Bill $ 5587.21. 11÷13÷15 My driver called me again and said the transmission was slipping and not shifting right. Another trip back to C Marks and after less than 300 miles they are telling me it needs a new transmission. After several phone calls C Marks would take no responsibility for the transmission. They quoted $ 3000 for a new trans! After the fiasco with the engine and there being nothing wrong with the transmission when we had it in their shop we feel they need to repair the vehicle at their expense. They have flat out refused to help in any way.

Finally found an honest, independent auto mechanic in the area. Have a MR2 Spyder with 200000+ miles.
Noticed the temperature started to rise and took it into a tire/car repair shop that I usually do my regular maintenance. Didn’t have the right tools to determine the problem and suggested C Mark’s. Appears to be a clean and organized shop. They were able to diagnose the problem(thermostat). Told me what I needed to fix(which was different from the initial diagnosis at the tire/care repair shop) and gave me a fair price for the work. Running great.
