Four months ago I hired Coolair to put a simple Mitsubishi AC split unit in my bedroom. I agreed to hire them and spend $ 600 more because they convinced me they were better trained and had a 12 year warranty. They came to install the AC unit and instead of installing it on an exterior wall they insisted on placing it on an interior wall. This caused them to install an additional water condensation pump on the wall and route a drain hose along with the power through the wall, into our closet, up into the attic, across the attic and out and down through the soffit and down the exterior wall. The installation looked ridiculous! Additionally they cut holes in all my walls and ceilings. They destroyed my home. I have a new home. The pump was mounted on the wall in the bedroom. It looked so stupid a big pump on my bedroom wall with hoses running up the wall. Worse than that, the pump made loud noises like a bathtub draining and buzzing sounds. It was impossible to sleep. We complained and 2 weeks later they came and moved the pump into the closet. Still the noise. We complained again and they replaced the pump weeks later with another pump that was just as loud. We complained still. They finally agreed to move the unit to an exterior wall as we had requested in the first place. They came weeks later and moved the unit. We turned it on the first day and let it run. After a few hours water began leaking into our bedroom soaking our floor. Again we called them and they came and raised the unit higher on the wall. They had kinked the drain hose causing it to plug which led to the leaking. They patched the damage to my walls with tape and some type of rubber that is impossible to sand. It does not match the walls at all. They failed to paint it leaving giant white smears on our walls. They patched the hole in our soffit with duct tape. Everything they touched looks like a crack head worked on it. Finally the unit works correctly. But the aftermath of the damage to our home is disturbing. I have holes in my walls, ceiling, soffit, and numerous nail and drill marks inside and out. I am patching and painting walls and holes. They patched the hole in my soffit with duct tape. This is a firsthand experience with this business. I purchased a forclosure and wanted blown in insulation todecrease my electric bill. A salesman came out, gave me an estimate and when the team showed up with 10 bags of insulation and one of the team members climbed into the attic-the job took 45 min and they left with 7 bags of insulation. I didn’t think I’d actually have to climb up into the attic and check the job when they were done – but my electric bill didn’t move.(Salesman said the insulation would decrease my electric bill by at least 50%)-yeah, right. So I got my own R-measurement stick, climbed in the attic and climbed every foot of the attic only to find that I barely had any insulation except near the door of the attic entrance. Called to complain-and referred to ‘Ben-mr. customer service’. Mr. BS is more like it. After continuing to call and request more insulation, I finally researched and decided to file charges against this company for fraud and breach of contract. I called to obtain the names and legal mailing address of the company to send my complaint to the State Attorney’s office and had a callback from the company stating they could come and fix my problem within two hours. Interesting how a year goes by with nothing but excuses, but mention legal action and suddenly a solution is offered. The second crew came out, blew in more insulation(what I originally paid for) – only this time I climbed the attic with the technician to verify that I got what I paid for. Time, frustration, and the last 12 months of ridiculous electric bills all could have been avoided if they had simply done their job to begin. I do not recommend them if you are not able to climb the attic and check their work… if you can, go rent the machine from Lowe’s or Home Depot and do it yourself. the only reason they didnt get one star is that I didn’t have to proceed further with legal action. What a waste of time, money and hassle-shame on your company. Feel free to contact me if you care to correct the remaining issues that are outstanding.
