Our server was Ashley she was very good and on time with bringing food and drinks… food was surprisingly fresh and very good! We were pleasantly surprised and we will visit again!

Have visited the restaurant many a time. Upon my recent visit the restaurant seems to have maybe been going through new management or a change and not as clean as usual. After my dinner we ordered ice cream when they brought me the ice cream there was a cockroach on my spoon. I immediately called a manger over. She acted like we were making it up and then she explained that they had exterminators and could not understand how that could’ve happened. She finally offered me another ice cream and I refused.

I really really wish I could remember the name of my server but this review is for her. Ive been coming to iguana mias for like 10 years now and never have had a server as attentive and friendly as her. She went out of her way and went well over and beyond to make sure we had a good experience. She was a little older and had curled bangs and was adorable. She made awesome suggestions and over all just put me in a great mood to be there. Good experience because of her. Also blackened shrimp tacos baha style, good choice.

ROACHES!!! Only gave it one star because the waitress was nice and I couldn’t put zero…
Literally just walked out of #IguanaMia in Ft. Myers after our food was delivered with a German Cockroach sitting on the top of the entrée. The dead roach was lightly smothered in a layer of queso cheese — thankfully in plain view of the human eye. The menu didn’t show the roach as an active ingredient so we politely left and will never go back. That place has been an armpit of a restaurant for years and I should’ve known better to go there.

Consistently good Mexican favorites. I wouldn’t call it super authentic but I’ll say it’s pretty darn good. My server was attentive and really knew the menu and I couldn’t pass up the $ 1 house margarita Monday.
A good local choice if you’re from out of town.

Sunday Brunch is a must! The food is really good, the queso dip is a must.

Great service and fantastic food. I enjoyed my burrito dinner and margarita. Left very satisfied and not broke.

This was overall an amazing restaurant,
When they say mild it is really mild which is a surprise to me given my past experiences with restaurants like these. Our waitress, Janice, was extremely nice and we had lots of fun having her as our waitress. I would recommend the guacamole and the fried ice cream. Great restaurant check it out ! we had a blast with Janice she is great with kids and made perfect recommendations. The rice was particularly good and my wife loved the black beans, which she often doesn’t like. The kids quesadilla was a big hit with a finicky 7 year old boy!

Well I went cause is was my birthday. As long as you have your ID dinner is free up to $ 18 not including your drinks. For those that drink it was margarita special $ 1. The waitress took some time to reach our table because she thought more were coming. I noticed my friend in the group got a dirty look when she asked the waitress for something else. I was eating some salsa that got too hot so I grabbed the waitress for a tall glass of milk with ice. I got the ice the tall glass but only ¹⁄₃ a glass of the milk. and was told they ran out of milk. I never saw if I got charged for it. I was told they were going out to get more.. I was done eating when I got a glass of milk. I got my picture taken for their birthday section of their web site. Was not bad. Also got my free fried ice cream. That was good. It had my candle to blow out.. All my friends go for their birthday. I hope next time is better, oh yes got home noticed receipt and was charged for the late milk.

Great experience. just moved to the area from Houston, Tx and wanted some Mexican food to remind me of home. After looking at three places I chose this one. Sat at the bar, my sever/​bar tender Ismael was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable of the menu… Suggested several items, one of witch I picked and was fantastic. The variety of salsa you get in amazing. Margarita was incredible. Will be visiting again soon.

Spent a nice dinner here last night. The food was good and served very hot. The staff was attentive and friendly.
I accidentally left my wallet at the table and didn’t realize until the next morning. We called on the slim chance the waitstaff had collected it. They had! I came by before opening and got my wallet back with all the money, credit cards, and other important stuff still in it. Very cool. Love this place!!!

You gotta love a place that listens to their patrons, takes the initiative to enact some positive changes, and then proves all the haters wrong!
A few years ago, you quite literally couldn’t have paid me to dine here. The food was impassable, the service was sloppy, and the atmosphere was haphazard, at best. Fast forward just a few months later and Iguana Mia shines as one of the best Mexican restaurants in the county!
The Food — great. Iguana Mia serves up Mexican food that’s the perfect balance between predictable, American-​Mexican favorites and true Mexican cuisine. The menu is inspired, with delightful little twists and altered details on the classics.
The Service — also great. Attentive wait staff, always prompt and accommodating.
The Atmosphere — artistic and totally fitting to the food.
Congrats on a turnaround, Iguana Mia. We’ll be back!

Had seen photos and reviews on Facebook which was the main reason we had never tried this place. Finally, we decided to give it a try despite negative reviews and very lackluster food photographs. The food here is fantastic, the portions are huge (enough to take home a second meal), the service is good depending upon who your server is and the prices aren’t bad either. They’ve got a killer margarita.

The service was horrible. The tacos were cold when I got them. Not a really Mexican restaurant. The tacos had carrots and cabbage in them. The waiter didn’t even give me a lime. I had to ask several times to get the lime.

Typical Mexican fare. Ordered a chimichanga with tex mex meat filling and received a chicken one.
They were quick to replace it and it was very good.
My only real issue is the amount of stuff on the table. They bring out a carrier of 6 different sauces, a three sectional thing of sauces plus plates and drinks. Before you know it the table is stuffed! When we asked for more salsa they brought out another whole three piece thing again. Next thing we know they show up with the food and no place to put it
Might want to rethink this.

Awesome chimichanga!!! It was huge. They give you several different salsas and chips which is different. I really enjoyed the food.

I have eaten here many times over the years, but after yesterday’s meal, I am not sure when I will return. The menu has been changed and the prices increased. The food is typical American Mexican but vert hint is covered in cheese. Don’t get me wrong, I adore cheese, but if that is your go to for flavor, then there is a problem. We have cheese on the outside cheese on the inside, cheese cheese and more cheese. I had a hard time tasting anything else.
We ordered guacamole at the very beginning of our meal. It never came. We had to ask for it after the meals had come. At that point I did not really want it, but my husband still wanted to try it. We had ordered the large guacamole: if that was the large, I cannot imagine what the small was. W both looked at each other wanting if she had brought us the small. Nope that was the large and for $ 9.00, you must be kidding…
Service was non existent. We are a medium sized party but other than us, there was only one other table with customers and they left a few minutes after we got there. A larger sized part came later but for most of the meal it was just us. We had to ask for chips and salsa to be refilled, for water refills, drink refills, and for silverware. We were the ONLY table there. I had to ask the lady cleaning the floor if she could find our waitress. This was though out the evening. I have no idea what our waitress was doing, but it was not serving our table.
I gave two stars in the hope that next time will be better. This used to be a pretty decent play to get good food at reasonable prices. Not it is below average food with high prices and terrible service.

Monday margaritas. Supposedly. The first one was fine. This second one is all mix. I sent it back. To correct it they watered it down. My husbands dinner was all wrong. Not. Good.

Dined in for lunch last Wednesday. We sat at bar and our bartender was really friendly and seemed extremely knowledgeable of the menu (and I must say it was kinda confusing). We ordered there Wednesday special where you buy a meal and get the second one free. That was real treat especially not knowing it beforehand. See I dined her once before about a year ago and had the worst service and even worst food so if I not been reaaaaaally hungry and leaving the mall I definitely wouldn’t have stopped. Although I’m really glad I did, I’m really impressed with all there new changes minus the crazy looking menu, lol… Our service was great the food presentation was great and tasted better good. I’m glad I gave this place a second chance.
