I would not recommend Mr. Handyman, in fact it is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. I have a condo in Naples that I rent out. My tenant called me to report a broken kitchen faucet(which was only 2 years old). I had her call Mr. Handyman(which by the way they are not real plumbers, they have to sub out jobs that require a licensed plumber, per a conversation I had with the owner)) and make the arrangements for getting it fixed as I live in another state. She called me back to tell me that they could come out that day and quoted me the rates that they had quoted her. The rates were ridiculously high but I agreed as my tenant was dealing with it and I am out of state. I had my tenant call me when the tech got there so that I could confirm the rates and give him my credit card number. I spoke with David(who told me that it was his second day on the job. He also by the way, not a plumber) he also told me that he knew exactly what the problem was and it shouldn’t even take him an hour at the rate of $ 147. So I had agreed to that price when I gave him my card. He told me that he would e-mail me a copy of the receipt. A week later when I had not received a receipt, I looked up my credit card statement. I was quite shocked that he had charged my card $ 440.50 to fix a faucet that I paid $ 100 for 2 years before. I thought for sure it was a mistake so I called Mr. Handyman to clear up what I thought was an error and to report that now the faucet has low pressure. I spoke to a really nice girl named Nicole(that is the only nice thing I have to say about this Company). She explained to me that after working on the faucet for over an hour, he decided that it needed to be replaced. So he drove to Home Depot(still on my dime for time) and bought the same faucet and installed it. One would think that a call to the person paying for the bill would be the right and professional thing to do to get approval. But no, the tech took it upon himself to make that decision. I asked Nicole to send me a receipt which she did. It was a contract for service stating that they charged my card for 2 hours of service for $ 245 and $ 195.50 for the faucet from Home Depot that he paid $ 115 for. The contract was not signed by me or my tenant. Nicole said that she would speak to the owner to make this right. After not hearing back, I called them again to follow up. This would be the beginning of many calls to this company that were not returned. Nicole told me when I called that the owner is not going to do anything. I asked her to have him call me. He always seemed to be «out of town» everytime I called. Also at this point, both David and Nicole and a few others who I dealt with were no longer with the company. That says a lot about a company right there. So finally in Oct.(original fix in July) I was able to get a tech out to check out the low pressure. He just looked at it and didn’t fix it. He was there for 10 minutes. He wrote on the receipt«the problem is in the valve hot water». Ok, how about fix it! I didn’t have that problem before this $ 440 new faucet. They said they did me a favor and didn’t charge me for that call… oh, thanks! So now I have a «new«$ 44o faucet that is still broken with a different problem from what I had originally! After many more calls over several months with no return calls from the owner, I did finally get through to the owner, Allen Furrer. He took no responsibility for the poor workmanship from his company. He was very arrogant and he needs to polish up on his customer service skills. I would never do business with this company. They are not honest, do horrible work and rip people off.

Complete joke of a firm. Great at scamming and over charging. I have hired contractors and builders and I thought I would try them for a quick job. They sent someone to my house who had no idea what he was doing, called for help numerous times, went to the store three times for parts, wasted my time, over billed be due to his negligence and basically guessed on how to do the repair. I am so shocked and amazed that they work like that. I would not hire them again if they were the last contractor in Florida. Do yourself a favor and call a reputable, knowledgeable and experienced plumber if you want even a small job completed.
