Tasty, delicious, spicy, 100% Mexican; what else is there to say. bottom line, only the best fucking tacos money can buy.

The food is always good, fresh, and twice the quality compared to what you get from a Chipolte Grill– and much better pricing!

Salt Lake City may surprise people familiar with street tacos in that it has more than one excellent and remarkably priced example, quite comparable with street tacos far to the south of Utah. The following review may be easiest for those familiar with SLC street food to appreciate… My A-OK rating seems about right, although I should mention that I’ve only tried tacos here. They were authentic Mexican tacos without gringo-style condiments or spices and they seem quite competitive with other street tacos in quality. In general this is a reasonable choice if you are nearby, although in comparison with other cities’ offerings it is not even ‘street-style destination dining’. Non-taco items, like the quesidillas, did look excellent and authentic. The SLC visitor who has experienced the excellent Tacos El Paisa or Tacos Don Rafa food trucks will be disappointed by the value proposition and presentation if that’s important to you in a Flea Market environment. For the current $ 2 /taco, you get slightly more quantity than for a single taco at either of those trucks, on the other hand there is certainly much less than the total quantity in either 2 for $ 1.50SLC truck ‘Tacos’ offering; another disadvantage here is that the customer can only rely on the food preparer to add toppings as desired in contrast with the healthy but open system used on the corner of State and 800. The ‘Tacos’ setup, with open offerings and available congenial employee consulting, seems much more relaxed and consumer friendly. Quality here, as I said, is competitive so that if you’re looking for an authentic experience, you can pay the not bankrupting price, and feel adequately thrifty by buying the homegrown tomatoes etc at other stands for what an earlier reviewer correctly describes as ½ to 1⁄3 the price at, say, the nearby WalMart, where the produce will have the typical waxlike and less flavorful quality. Super Taco is on the same Avenue and very close to the Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium for example, so for thoughtfully prepared food if you are in the area during the extremely limited Flea Market hours or if you have Flea Market shopping in mind, this truck can often be a perfectly acceptable choice.

In the neighborhood to get the excellent burrito, but I got a daily special. A shredded pork torta. Basically a Mexican style sandwich. It has a french style roll for the bread, tomatoes onion, pepper, mayo, pinto beans and avocado. In this case pork but you have your choice of meat.(In Mexico you also get a choice beef tongue or brains, yummy.) So if you are adventurous and need a change try a torta.

STILLTHEBESTTACOS This is THE place to be on Sunday mornings. You may well have to stand in line to get your tacos, but at $ 1.50 each it’s a super bargain. When you’re done eating, check out the market. It will be teeming with shoppers, 95% Hispanic. The produce, while not always of the highest quality, is ½ or 1⁄3 the price of that in the grocery store. And the selection is huge. What’s not to like?
