Visiting from out of town and found this place. Really cool inside although we didn’t have time to sit. Tried the hammer espresso shake– ice cream, 2,3or4 shots of espresso depending on size, white chocolate, and a hint of berry! Yum! Delicious! Also grabbed a bag of Sumatra coffee. They roast the beans there and you can see the roast date right on the bag. The employee was super friendly(sorry didn’t catch his name, he said he’d been there about a month) and was throwing out lots of options. The girl who was also there was also knowledgeable and made a great drink. I’d love to return if I lived closer! They also have breakfast and lunch sandwiches, soups, and quick snack bars etc. The stand alone building is at the end of the plaza. Find five guys burgers then look left for a seperate building.

Back when The Grind opened its location by Health Park, I was very excited about a new coffee shop opening near me, and impatiently watched as it was prepared for occupancy. I really wanted to like this place, and was all set to become a loyal patron. But alas, I was forced to accept the sad reality that it just doesn’t do it for me. Coffee is a very personal thing; I know what I like. And folks, this ain’t it — regardless of whether it’s their Coffee of the Day or some overpriced specialty drink. To be fair, I decided to bring a pound home: Some people like oily, shiny beans and others go for the dull dry ones. I happen to prefer the former to the latter(sue me, I like some bling to my beans). Be advised: The product that emerges from The Grinds’ roasters happens to be of the dull dry variety. Other than all that, I found the menu to be extremely limited, and could best be classified as «boutiquey». In the end, I’d just as soon drive several miles out of my way to Starbucks.

Whenever I travel I try to go to at least one local coffee place, and luckily I found this spot. It seemed like the only coffee place around the area so I was happy to find it. The cold brew was really good. Not bitter, and you can add enough sugar and cream to your liking. I also got the cinnamon dolce latte iced and it was good but a bit sweet for me. They also have pretty go grab and go breakfasts like muffins and pastries. I had the double chocolate muffin it was delicious! They even asked if I wanted it heated up. I’d go back anytime. Really enjoyed everything.

Super cute coffee shop with great service! Ample indoor & outdoor seating w/free WIFI& never seems to get crowded. If you want a solid cup of joe & a pastry or a even a light bite for lunch, they have small sandwiches & salads as well. Not a great deal of variety on the food front, but the coffee is strong and delicious. Reasonably priced, given how insanely expensive the coffee shop experience is nowadays.

This is a solid coffee shop option in the Fort Myers area where options are very limited. Let’s start with what’s great about the Grind. .. the coffee. The Grind roasts their own coffee beans in house. This is something that is very common to find in meccas of coffee culture(e.g., Portland, Oregon or even Portland, Maine), but is almost unheard of in Florida.(The only other place in town that does it is Bennett’s Fresh Roast). In any case, I am glad the Grind is doing it because the results are fantastic. As a black coffee drinker, I would take a cup of the Grind’s coffee over any other coffee seller in the area any day of the week. It’s just a delight to drink. I haven’t sampled much of the food. The selection is limited, but appropriate for a coffee shop. I do make it a habit to get their breakfast sandwich pretty often, which is really well-done. There are two locations in town. The older location on 41 is more atmospheric and quaint. It is also smaller though, so seating can be an issue. The newer location by Health Park on Summerlin has more seating, which is nice, but it lacks some of the quaintness of the other location. Regardless, the atmosphere at both locations would be drastically improved if the management would stop playing the local radio station where it’s almost 50% commercials. Nobody comes to a coffee shop hoping to be bombarded with car commercials. They want a relaxing environment conducive to reading, writing, quiet conversation, etc. Also, more could be done with the space at both locations. Java House in downtown Fort Myers hangs local art rather than stock images of coffee mugs. The Grind could be the best coffee shop in town and could attract a much greater following from the 25,000+ college students in the area if they did more with the atmosphere. If you are a coffee lover though, you have to go to the Grind. They certainly have the best coffee in town, and they need the support of locals to keep offering this wonderful product.

I’ve been to both branches of The Grind. The coffee is fantastic! The food is mediocre. I’ve tried the salads and sandwiches, lots of their bars and healthy treats & it’s all decent but not WOW. Good coffee tho!

Ahhh why can’t this place be closer to me??? The incredible customer service along with the excellent freshly roasted coffee will have us making special trips out this way. I am an amateur(is there a level below that?) home coffee roaster and I can really appreciate them introducing new beans to this area where the big coffee shops can be found nearby. Not saying I don’t love those as well! But a small, locally owned shop that offers something new and different along with a vast food menu wins me over every time. Will be back soon to try other items and purchase some of their loose leaf teas! Edit: It makes me sad to do this but I hope it somehow helps the business. On April 12, I visited The Grind via drive thru. The lady working the window was terribly rude several times throughout the transaction. I have had great experiences here the past 2 years and it’s a shame this employee did not represent the same values. I hope that somehow in training it is addressed that there is a great likelihood of serving customers with loved ones across the way at Healthpark, as was my case that week. I understand everyone has a bad day but the actions of this employee were unacceptable. I do not recall ordering the attitude I received at the window. I was a regular customer and always tip the barista but I will not return anytime soon.

Had a BLT on a croissant and a ham egg and cheese on multigrain bread. For drinks, a vanilla milkshake and decaf coffee. Ham egg and cheese was basic, hard to mess up. The BLT was above average. Really nice texture on the bacon and croissant. Both drinks were excellent. It’s the first great coffee I’ve had in Florida.

Very nice but small coffee shop. Bagels, mini cupcakes, sandwiches. The minis are very cheap if you’re the kind of person who doesn’t like to pay 2 bucks for a brownie. My iced mocha was good. Very clean, free wireless, and you can drive thru if you’re in a hurry. It’s in the front building of the shopping center.

Give it a try! P. s.: Drive thru geht auch.

This place is a bit unnoticeable. Even my GPS had a hard time finding it, it had me going In Like 10 circles! I’m looking looking looking … ummm, YOOHOOO where are uuu? Finally, I see letters that read The Grind on a side of a building. BUT… The Grind is actually on the other side of that building. So here I go in another circle. Weeeeeeee… Sigh I get to the other side and the only space leased out is The Grind. Looks abandoned. It’s a shame. I cannot see it making it there in that space. There was no one even in there when I got in. I was the only car in the parking lot besides the person working in there. Actually, that whole plaza is only half full, if that. Most of the spaces are up for lease. Anyways, I went in and ordered a cappuccino. It was just ok, nothing special. Froth was thin. I miss my locally owned coffee shops in my part of town:-(In need of a nice creamy frothed Cappuccino.

We were there twice in Dec for breakfast using groupon coupons which make it a tremendous deal. Friendly service, good breakfast sandwiches, great coffee and a very pleasant atmosphere.
