Very helpful. I am not techy and I had to replace my iPhone. They helped my upload to the iCloud and then back it up to my new phone. This took a bit of time, but they were very helpful and patient. I couldn’t have done it without Jim in service and Taylor in sales. Thanks boys

They really know what they’re doing and great at repairs. Benjamin was great and I understand my Mac so much better now.

Well, I doubt that these guys really know what they are doing. I had a problem with Apple ID, having changed the e-​mail on the account but the Ipad still was looking for the old email.
Initially they said «you will have to just talk to Apple on this», but after I told them I didn’t care if they scrapped everything on the iPad and started from scratch, they decided to do a reinstall. Initially they said a couple of hours, but later that day they couldn’t get the download going from Apple so I picked up the iPad the next day. Spending the night without it was traumatic… When I picked it up, nothing was working on it, the initial screen (you know, after the «Hello» part) was still asking to be connected to the old, non-​existing e mail address, and we couldn’t get past that. So I took it home. Eventually I had to call Apple Care, and immediately they knew the problem was we never disconnected that device from the IColud account. They quickly helped me through that, and I was back in business. How come SimplyMac didn’t know to log onto ICloud and remove the device from there? It seems they should know how to do this.
Anyway, nice guys, but ineffective for me. Two stars for being nice…

My Macbook recently went for a swim, and completely shut down as a result. I immediately took it to the Apple Store and after an hour waiting they told me they couldn’t help me. I then went to Simply Mac where I was promptly assisted by friendly staff. Within two days all of the data off of my hard rive was retrieved, and I am so thankful. I had a very positive experience here despite a bad situation.

In a nutshell– don’t pay with cash because they won’t refund you cash!!! They say they have a to send a check that takes 7 to 10 business days to receive it. There is nothing posted anywhere so of course you don’t know any of this info until it pertains to you. Absolutely ridiculous!!! I need a new home computer, a new business computer as well as four new iPads for the bar… Obviously I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

I had really good recommendations for Simply Mac in Orem, but unfortunately I got my computer back with all new problems.
I originally took my MacBook Pro (2009) in to Simply Mac and they diagnosed that my hard drive (only a year old) was failing. They suggested a new hard drive and I ended up spending $ 320 to get it replaced (trading my 350 SSD for a 500 SSD). They call me on Friday saying it was finished and I come in on Monday morning to pick it up since I was out of town. When they bring my MacBook out, I start it up and the first problem was that my login was not the admin login anymore. They take it back and fix it then. I log in and I can’t open Mail. Or Safari. Or iMessage. So they spend another half hour trying to fix that. I was pressed for time so they «fix» all of those and give it back to me. After returning home from school, I spend up to FOUR HOURS trying to fix all of my permissions on my computer, log in to my iCloud, spent an HOUR on the phone with an Apple tech support (really nice lady named Cindy, she was helpful), and she suggested downloading the new software update (El Capitan). After a slow download, I spent another TWO HOURS working with a relative that knows computers re-​configuring the permissions manually.
It is now two weeks from then. My computer does not save any of my preferences on my computer. I have to re-​login to my iCloud EVERY TIME I restart my computer. My permissions with Evernote are still wacky and I cannot trust my computer the way I did before this mess started. If Simply Mac had actually done the job ALL THE WAY at the beginning rather than rush the order and half-​assing it, I would not be writing this review.
Moral of the story: Go to Apple directly. I thought I could trust Simply Mac. Guess I was wrong.

What a waste of time. The chubby light haired bearded manager who couldnt be bothered to help me because he was on the phone with what I can assume is his only friend.
The underling didn’t know anything and kept having to ask said chubby manager questions, to which repeated one word answers were grunted.
I described the issue with my ipod in great detail, and was hopeful they could help. Needless to say I’ll never waste my time with these jerks ever again. There are plenty of other places that sell and service apple products.
Go anywhere else

I took my macbook air to Foothill Village because my track pad had stopped working. When they looked at it, they told me it was water damage and out of warranty, so they could order the parts and fix it for $ 200. I told them to go ahead and do it. A few days later, they called me back and told me it still wouldn’t work, so they decided that it was the wiring. They tried to fix that, then they called and said the keyboard wouldn’t work now. They ended up telling my they could send it to Apple and fix it for around $ 800. Yikes! I told them no and went to pick up my computer. I had to pay $ 50 just to have them diagnose it (or misdiagnose it), so now I was out $ 50 and my computer worked less than when I took it in. Fast forward one week later: I called Bad Apple and they referred me to Affordable Laptops. I took it in there and they had it fixed for $ 100 in about one day, no need to replace anything but a couple of wires. Looks like that’s where I will take my computer if something else get’s busted. I love my computer, but it kinda sucks that Apple wants you to essentially buy a new computer if something goes wrong.

Worst customer service ever. Extremely dishonest, unprofessional and out right rude. I will never go back to this store.

New Review — My first review was positive, but thought I would update based on a current experience. I had a challenge with my iMac, one of a series of challenges. A few months ago, I took in for service here and it was thought to have been resolved. Well, it was not and I had to go to the Apple store. That said, Apple too was unable to find the problem, and so no fault of the guys at Simply Mac.
A few days ago, I got the dreaded gray screen of death. After trying everything on my own, my last resort was to get a Firewire cable and try to restore software from my PowerBook. In picking up the cable and getting some advice from the store staff I went home to try the last resort. No Success. I then took my iMac in for service yesterday. I was not thrilled to do this, as my warranty ran out a couple of months ago. Initial testing suggested software (sigh of relief), and also suggested that this may not cost a ton to repair. However, on the way out, their senior tech suggested that it may be the video card… Yikes, this may be costly.
About 2 hours later I got a call with an update. He shared, «I have some good news for you… Your video card is out (how is this good news I thought)… and it is a known problem, and Apple will cover the repair. WooHoo! In speaking with him, he shared this may have been a challenge for months, and as it was intermittent it may not have shown in diagnostic tests… (Major sigh of relief). He shared that the part was ordered, and would be in the next day.
To my surprise, I had an email by 10:30 am the next day, my computer is fixed and ready for pickup. In short, my iMac was there for about 2 hours, and they diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. The repair was done first thing in the morning, and I was home by noon… and writing this review.
Outstanding service, and I am happy that they were able to fix my very annoying challenge. They even encouraged me to bring back the $ 30 cable I bought for a refund. These guys are great and I will be back.

My first visit was positive but the last three were awful. Horrible customer service. They don’t back up products’ lifetime warranties. They always ask for my name, address and phone number when they are taking my money yet miraculously can’t find any history of my purchases when I try to exchange defective iPhone charging cords. Never go there again!!!

This Simply Mac is a «business store» meaning it’s larger and has more accessories and inventory. I purchase all my computers through Simply Mac, due to their financing options. If you’re going to buy accessories, I would recommend Amazon or other online retailers, Simply Mac has a tendency to charge a lot more up front.

My new favorite Apple store. The sales staff have been universally friendly as I’ve bought my wife a present and myself a new computer. The store is not as crazy busy as the Apple company stores, but has equally friendly and knowledgable staff. They went out of their way more than once to help me know the status of a custom ordered computer that I was impatiently waiting for.

Wow! I have never been treated so poorly by a business. I brought in an older iMac for some service. When I called to get an update on when I might get an idea of what the problem was, the service rep told me they would not be able to get parts to fix it, and that he had not had a chance to look at it. It was an older iMac. I told him that was fine and that I just needed to know if the hard drive was working so that I could buy a new iMac from them and transfer the data.
The next morning I went into the store to buy the new computer and asked if they could expedite checking my hard drive, the service tech stormed out of the back room and chastised me for asking so early in the day about my computer. I left the store still willing to give them a chance. Later that day, in the early afternoon, I was in the area with my son. I called the service dept. to see if there was an update yet. The service tech yelled at me so loudly my son could hear him over the phone. The service tech berated me for checking back to many times and then told me when he said it would be late afternoon he meant late afternoon. Needles to say I was in the store within five minutes, took my computer back and left. What happened to treating your customers with respect? A simple, I have no answer would have been fine, but this guy wanted to tell me how much of an inconvenience my business was. I’ll never buy a single item from Simply Mac.
By the way I went to Expercom, they checked my hard drive in less than five minutes. I was out of the the store in less than an hour with a new computer, data transferred.

my frustration is if all the prices are generally the same for apple products and simply mac separates themselves through «service» why are they not doing that. i called looking for an external disk drive for my macbook the girl that answered was very polite but said they didnt sell any and that i should call best buy. When i asked her if there were any brands she would recommend she said she didnt know and that i should call best buy. maybe im wrong but i would expect someone working at a mac store to know about external disk drives or pass me to someone in her store that would know instead she sent me to best buy who was more than happy to have my business.

They have all you need and they are closer to the people in the south valley that are 20 – 30 minutes from the gateway. helpful employees and you can expect the same pricing as the apple store would have.

Simply Mac has several locations throughout Utah including this one in the Cottonwood Heights area of Salt Lake City. Like their other stores this location is in a strip-​mall with Chipotle on one side and Red Mango on the other. Inside you’ll find a large showroom with Apple products on display, ready for you to try out and play with, exactly like at The Apple Store. Like with everything Apple the prices are identical to anywhere else, so where Simple Mac sets themselves apart is through services and support. They also sell Mac accessories like chargers, keyboards, and software. I’ve been into their store a few times and always been impressed by the selection of products and the nice showroom.
However, when it comes time to spend my money I admittedly go elsewhere. Why? Because I think Simply Mac is overpriced. I’ve called them several times to price out purchases and computer upgrades. One time I was looking to buy an external hard drive for my Mac and the price they quoted me was more than $ 50 more than anywhere else. Another time I called to price out a RAM upgrade and they quoted me $ 100 more than MacDocs (another local Mac store). Furthermore Simply Mac was going to sell me Samsung RAM whereas MacDocs was offering Kingston or Crucial. I’d take Kingston or Crucial over Samsung any day of the week.
In summary, Simply Mac is a nice store but with their high prices I don’t see myself shopping there.
