I came down to Lane on a hot day last week. We had just visited Pearson Farms(which is not far away and also warrants a visit if you’re in the area). This is a much larger operation by comparison. It has a huge store with all manner of peach products(including peach wine, which we purchased), baking mixes and unusual products like bacon soda. The peaches were generally more expensive here than at Pearson, but still good. There’s a walk through tour of their packing operation, which is pretty big and interesting to watch all the peaches being dumped out and how the workers sort all of them. There also appeared to be a tour, but the bus was open air and didn’t appeal to my group in that weather. We, of course, had ice cream. And it was free! Courtesy of a Unilocal check-in. The peach was really good, but we also ordered the blueberry, which was surprisingly good. It was really sweet and tasted more like blueberry preserves, rather than having a lot of tartness from just fresh blueberries.

Best pecans i have ever had, and Ive lived in the south my whole life. Roasted and salted are best. Peaches are very good, be sure and ask them when they will be ripe, had to wait two days but worth it! Club sandwich was very good. Peach milkshake was good. Peach fritter is HUGE but was just ok, couldnt taste any peaches in it.

Neat place. A great way to spend lunchtime and afternoon. Had lunch at the café. Good food but small portions. Had some strawberry’s freshly picked from the strawberry patch. Meandered through the gift shop, nice stuff but a little pricey. Then sat on a rocking chair and killed some time. Little ones will like the tractors and playground. Seniors will like the portions in the café and laid back atmosphere. Families will like the way it is not electronic. If you live within an hour of Lanes then you need to go at least once, but you will probably want to go back.

I’ve eaten here many times over the years. The service has been good and the peach ice cream has always been tasty. But today’s experience was a big disappointment. The place was busy but that’s no excuse for the extremely slow service. Waited 45 minutes for a simple club sandwich, which was small and hardly worth its $ 8 price. Long line of aggravated customers waiting for food; kitchen understaffed or inexperienced. The peach cobbler also disappointed. It was prepared as a single baked serving in its own container but the crust was so firm the flimsy plastic spoon would barely cut it. We drove an hour to eat lunch here, but will think twice about doing so in the future if the service/food remains of this quality.

Was worth the 10 mile round trip off the Freeway the country side so beautiful The Place was immaculate a real welcoming Southern Hospitality in action with white rocking chairs just waiting for you to sit and relax awhile And yes the peach cobbler and free ice cream thanks to the Unilocal was all people say the pecan pie wasn’t the best I had wish I ordered the cherry cobbler . A must stop when you are anywhere with driving distance!

Drove 2hrs here to pick strawberries today… The fields were full of beautiful red berries! No one really outdoors picking. The farms are very nice with a lot of baked goods and restaurant inside to enjoy. If you happen to be in the area stop by would not drive the 2 hrs again to visit here.

We were really excited to try this place out and take a much-needed rest from I 75, but unfortunately they are closed today Easter Sunday. Just thought we’d let everyone know.

Stopped by because of review on , which admittedly praised desserts over regular food. My husband had the brisket sandwich with Cole slaw. I had tea-brined fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and slaw. The food was OK. I had a sample of the peach ice cream and thought it was terrible. First, when I think of hand-made peach ice cream, I don’t think soft serve. I think of snowy white ice cream with golden hunks of yellow deliciousness scattered throughout or a lovely light golden color. This was light brown in color(of all things!) and had a chemical taste — no peachiness to be found. We did have the cobblers — peach and blackberry. Oddly, the blackberry was better — much deeper flavor. The peach was bland. So I would not go out of the way to eat here.

Amazing homemade peach ice cream and peach cobbler! Sample table had peach salsa and unique raspberry jalapeño jam. So good, with just the right kick, I had to buy a jar. Great place!

Took a chance on our way back to FL to goto this out of the way orchard, quick 6−7min off of i75. The expectation of good southern meal was set with the drive however, we found ourselves slightly disappointed. The food wasn’t bad and everything was very clean but for the cost of the 3 meals we had we have had a better value and quality. We ordered the meatloaf, fried chicken and a cheeseburger. The chicken and meatloaf were good but small portioned and were served with another very small portion of «Sysco» mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables that were not raw but we’re not fully cooked either. The cheeseburger was good but not much bigger or better than a Wendy’s double and served with chips that the seasoning was the best part. The ice cream was delicious, skip the peach cobbler it was doughy and only had approx 4 peach slices in it. You would think at a peach orchard it would be overloaded but I’m sure that would have cost you more. You could grab a cute«southern style» gift for someone but you will pay too much for it. My take on the whole experience… The customer is paying for the new bigger place and it was probably better when it was smaller.

I have been coming to Lane Packing now for 15 years, and have seen this place grow from a fruit stand to this local attraction that has so many vistors around the world to visit and eat some of the best tasting fresh Georgia Peaches has to offer. Every year Lane Packing does a amazing Corn Maze just right next to the packing shed, each year there is a different logo in the maze. This year it’s the BUDDYWALK. Every year it’s amazing the amount of travelers that come out and stop by to walk the maze. If you walk inside the packing shed there is gift shop and restaurant. What a great place to visit and it’s just off the exit a few miles going into town.

Fresh off the tree Georgia peaches? Yes, please! Take your pick to buy them by the pound, quart, or ½ bushel box! Let them sit out for a day or two on the kitchen counter if they’re not completely ripe and be prepared for juice dripping goodness! Their café boasts everything from sandwiches to salads to homemade desserts, and their market has an array of homemade breads, jams, jellies, salad dressings, and various flavored bbq sauces to buy. Yum! We make a point to exit off the interstate for a quick«detour» each time we go down to Florida and then again when we’re coming back up to Georgia. I know, I know, everyone raves about the peach ice cream and while it is very good, the butter pecan ice cream is like none I’ve ever had before! I don’t care if you eat it on a cone, in a cup, or as a milkshake, you just gotta try it! We enjoy sitting outside on the rocking chairs as we enjoy our cold treat. Great place to stop and stretch your legs if you’re needing a break from driving.

My wife and I were in Smiths Station, Al. visiting family and they took us to to Lane Orchards. We had been here about 15 years earlier. The place is just as we remembered, with the normal improvements. It isn’t as much as an open air market now and has a decent restaurant serving sandwiches and salads. They also had two wonderful flavors of ice cream, one was peach the other was butter pecan. The butter pecan wasn’t like what you buy in the store with chunks of pecans, these pecans were almost pureed. VERYTASTY! The selection of peach and pecan products were amazing. Naturally we bought our share to take back home to Ohio. All in all, very good place to see.

This is a great pit stop for peach ice cream. Just north of Perry, we often stop here on the way home from Florida. Family tradition spot.

On the way home to Birmingham, my family and I stopped into Lane for a quick break and some ice cream. You can’t miss them if you’re on GA96. I had a peach ice cream cone, and it was simply splendid. If you’re traveling on a long summer road trip, it hits the spot. Lane has a very large and tidy shop attached with all the peach fixins a Southern gal or gent could imagine. The restaurant has a range of healthy and tasty down home options.

First I have to state that I have eaten here many times over the years and have always been very pleased every trip. I am amazed that I never Unilocaled this place before. It pains me to say that today’s visit was the polar opposite of every other. My go-to choice 8 times out of 10 was the soup and salad bar. The salad bar was well stocked with almost anything you would want and the soups were all you can eat and at least 3 to choose from. The shrimp corn chowder was my main focus. The first thing I noticed was that the soup/salad bar was not listed anywhere so I asked about it and they told me that it was a choice. Relieved, I went with that. As it turns out, you can no longer get your own soup and they had only two choices. My fave shrimp corn chowder and some kale cheese thing. Undeterred I agreed and ordered the chowder. Now for the two finger shocker! It was SIXTEENDOLLARS and change!!! I am absolutely sure it was never that expensive or I would have pooped a green weenie. Anyway, I did my salad up and I am certain that the salad bar was missing a few items and there didn’t appear to be pickled okra which I used to love in there. I dived into the soup and it was different. Almost no corn, shrimp were different(bigger) and there were potatoes that I do not recall but may have been there but less prominent than now. After that bowl I opted to try the kale cheese. Should have been called salt lick brine stew! It was beyond salty! Tasting anything that may have been in it would have been impossible to anything but a marine animal. Did I mention it was salty? Because it WAS!!! Ended the trip with a butter pecan milkshake which was good and I got a rager ice cream headache from it. My fault for eating too fast but I was trying to chase away the salt flat that I ingested earlier. The whole place has changed and rearranged inside. Almost didn’t recognize it. Unfortunately, unless someone else informs that things are back to normal and soup/salad market futures have settled down, I will not be returning to Lane’s. Sad as we had some really good years together.

The fruit stand was well appointed and the offerings looked yummy. But for a lot of employees standing around– the sampler area could be filled or removed. Just a tease to see empty sample boxes and toothpicks. The restaurant was a disappointment. The website listed the same lunch special yesterday and today. Well, the ribs I got might have been made several days ago and on special all week! More like jerky than tender BBQ ribs. And the sides on the website were nowhere to be found once we got there. Just day-old steamed veggies and mashed potatoes. HOWEVER, the fried pies, cobbler and ice cream were a-ma-zing! Maybe you can get lunch elsewhere and make this a desert stop!

Peach everything! What a great place to sit back relax on a rocking chair with some homemade ice cream. Visit the café for awesome peach cobbler. The food is really yummy at the café. Shop at the gift store and try numerous items they make and grow: tomatoes, jams, jellies, pecans, and citrus fruits. Oh also they make peach cider and carry local wines too! Nice!

So I’m driving from Florida to Chicago and while driving through Georgia, I see signs for peach stand after peach stand after peach stand. I make a mental note to stop on the way back home to get some peaches. Two weeks later, driving back, Florida getting closer and where in the world are all these peach stands that I saw when going North? Stopped at one next to a gas station. The stand frightened me. Back on 75, I see a billboard for Lane Orchards. If they can afford a billboard, it must be clean and I’m stopping. It seemed further off the road that they said. Just as I thought I had passed it because it was probably a cruddy little stand like the one I saw by a gas station, I see the sign! It was a huge place. Tons of trees. Tons of people. Not at all what I expected. I’m glad that I made the detour. There’s lots going on here: tours, gift shop, market and a café. I can’t pass up a good chachki shop so I picked up some stuff for my kids and my friend who looked in on my cats. Then to the market where I picked up a case of beautiful peaches, peach bread, peach salsa, peach preserves and jalapeño jelly. A must stop to the café. I’m a chocoholic in this plethora of peaches so when in Georgia, gotta do the peaches. O.M.G. It was the freshest milkshake I ever had. It was liquefied peaches with some ice cream. Amazeballs! I gave it four stars because it was expensive but totally worth it and I would stop again in a heart beat. Highly recommend!
