I was a fan of Sunny-brooks liquor store part until the other day when I went to buy some spirits for the 2016 Blizzard. After gathering everything up and taking it to the small counter and having it checked up I was told my credit cards would not be accepted because they had chips in them. This sounded ridiculous because I have been coming there for over 15 years, as soon as last week and no one has ever told me anything like that. No problem, I went to another store 2 minutes away and made my purchase. I think they should update the registers. J

Next time you are around Wilson Bridge, drive a mile down Maryland Route 210 South and at the intersection of Palmer Road and Route 210, you will find a hidden gem — Sunnybrook Tavern. Adjacent to the Tavern is a liquor store. The Tavern includes a kitchen and seats about 60 and it feels very intimate akin to a neighborhood sports bar or a British pub. Dining tables adjacent to the bar can be booked for special events, such as birthdays, retirements, and reunions. The place boasts about 8 HDTVs, a fine kitchen, friendly bar, a plethora of entertainment options — such as Keno, racetracks, Touch Tunes, darts, and flipper and pinball game machines. Under a new management, the establishment has been transformed into a clean and well managed business. Recent improvements include remodeled restrooms, significantly improved kitchen menu, and many sports event and happy hour related specials. Some of the specials include: domestic bottled beers and hotdogs under $ 2 each on football Sunday. If you are Redskins fan, you will feel at home here. Moreover, on Saturdays, insatiable carnivores start trickling in around 5 pm to enjoy a special menu — a huge steak and a titanic baked potato. The steak dinner is so big, you may not finish it in one sitting. A friendly bar, good food at reasonable price, and a bunch of entertainment. This is an excellent place.

It dispenses alcohol, what else do you need? We came into the place more so out of desperation rather than design, and yes, it is as underwhelming inside as it is on the outside. But you’re not really too spolit for choice when it comes to buying alcohol in this area — the friggin’ Giant up the road doesn’t sell a drop of it(bloody unbelievable)?! It is in a very obnoxious junction right off Indian Head Hwy, in any case.

The food and drinks are inexpensive and good. They always have a great happy hour special and even sunday night specials. Bartenders are very friendly. The crowd is usually a bit older but the atmosphere 8 very relaxed. Anytime I need a quick get away and good food I come here. My new favorite local spot.

Very nice spot. Great conversations, nice happy hour and keno. Liz is wonderful and makes great drinks. The liquor store also has a nice selection. They have a kitchen and specials on certain days.

Very good liquor store! Went in for wine, came out with exactly what I wanted! Huge supply of wine and other spirits at a reasonable price point! The staff were ok, nothing too special! Customer service, ok, it’s a liquor store! My expectations of customer service isn’t that serious! One thing I don’t care for, is the parking lot of this liquor store! It’s poorly designed and at times can be difficult to get in and out of!

Have never spent time at their adjoining bar but as far as the store, Sunnybrook and I go way back. Always a good selection for a fair price. As far as the reviewer that gave a one star review for not selling him alcohol, they are not allowed to sell to anyone who has a vertical license… no matter what d.o.b. it says on the ID.
