I was a little skeptical because of the mixed reviews, but my experience here was awesome! We went on a Monday night, no one else was there. The woman that greeted us /waited on us was very friendly, as was the guy there. We all got different dishes. I am vegetarian and tried the Channa Saag(good chance I didn’t spell that correctly) and some garlic Naan. My food was delicious and my friends said the same about there’s. The place was not dumpy or unkept, as some of the reviews made it out to be. It would be cool if people giving reviews understood the difference between a bad experience and a bad restaurant. My trip there was great and I would definitely go back.

Small restaurant tucked away in a big shopping center. Buffet was great as was the service. Not from the area so most likely won’t eat here again, but certainly would if I I’m in the area again.

I’m always extremely impressed with their dinner buffet. The smells and tastes are so amazing and comforting. The owner and workers have never been anything but friendly towards me. The glasses of mango lassi are big and the naan is cooked well. The indian music playing is at a volume perfect for ambiance and it makes me smile. There’s nothing elaborate about the décor, but the place looks very nice and clean. It’s good enough for me to occasionally skip others and go an hour out of the way for!

First, the location might be confusing; it’s on the W side of Coldwater in the shopping center where Walmart is located. They serve a la carte, or from a buffet. I tried the buffet, currently $ 11.99. Many selections, including numerous vegetarian ones, plus a salad bar. Good flavors, the rice becomes crispy from being heated too long. Service is very good a nice variety of food. It’s not going to win contests, but there’s nothing to apologize for, either.

Pretty clean place — reminds me of some of the best places I ate at in Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore, India! The smell was so inviting! The menu had all the good stuff Samosa’s, chicken tikka masala, garlic nan and Taj Mahal beer. Great music playing. The man working didn’t have the most welcoming personality, but brought what was ordered and wasn’t interested in being very friendly(even though I’m the only one in the restaurant! Although, I am s bit early for dinner. He actually just cracked a smile so all is well now! The Samosa’s were amazing! The chicken tikka masala was fantastic and garlic nan was cooked perfectly! This will be my go-to Indian restaurant when in Fort Wayne! This place made me HAPPY!

Today my boyfriend and I had lunch at A Taste of India. Not many choices for the buffet, but what they had available.. . Yum. There is real India spices. The Curry Chicken was delicious. Also, their butter chicken was yummy also. The atmosphere was quiet and the staff was wonderful. This place has received bad reviews, but I’m saying it was AMAZING!

Worst quality. Fried rice, gopi manchurian sucks. repeated same items on buffet menu quality is poor. they even charge for tip even if it’s carry out :(…can taste their ice-cream nothing much with this restaurant. As few restaurants are there in Fort Wayne it is running still. Big time failure :(:(

Firstly I have never seen a more rude and I’ll mannered waiter ever in my entire life. He doesn’t know how to talk to customers… Behaves like he is doing a favor giving use food which we are paying for. Next the food is extremely bad and is a disgrace being called Indian food. Never going to come this place again… I would rather starve than go to this place to eat with this kindl of environment and bad food… Wudnt recommend any1 to go here… The only reason why I am giving it 1 star is because I can’t post the review without giving it atleast 1 star

I’ve only found 2 Indian restaurants in Fort Wayne so far. I like variety so I stopped in for the lunch buffet. Ugh. The variety wasn’t as big as the normal Indian buffet. The saag paneer had no paneer, there was no vegetable korma, the vegetable balls in manchurian sauce were confusing and I don’t know why they were there(or why they had so much cilantro and how the sauce could be so bad?) the tikka masala had bell peppers in it which was a first for me and the chicken was dry, the other chicken was equally as dry, there was no tandoori chicken, no goat or lamb option, and the aloo gobi was mushy. Overall, the temperature of the entire buffet was concerning as everything was almost warm. Naan was brought piping hot to the table… except they fried it… it was crispy and greasy, and delicious; however, difficult to eat my food with because it wouldn’t bend, it would snap. Upsides are the chai tea on the buffet is good and super hot, they refilled all pakoras but the old ones remained, and the gulab jamin was actually soft and warm. Honestly, I won’t be back here. I’ll have to go to the lesser of two evils of the Indian choices here, or just continue to make my own as I’ve always done since I was a kid.

Went to try this place out with my husband since I LOVEEEE indian food, We were greeted by one of the worker and he sat us at our table. He was very kind .the food was really good. I ordered extra of the nun bread! So yummy! The only thing that bothered me was the whole décor of the restaurant, very poorly. The walls were ugly color and the pictures weren’t even straight … the way a restaurant looks and is presented is very important to me, to put me in the mood and enjoy the company am with. If u don’t care Abt how a place looks and just want some good indian food, check this place out…

So I have been here twice, and was not impressed either time. The décor and walls look really bad. The pictures are old and not even straight on the wall. The only waiter that they have is rude and very short spoken. I ordered Saag Paneer with medium spice. I generally love this dish, but I was disappointed as it did not have any spice I also had Mango Lassi, which was okay. The waiter was at least good about making sure the water glasses were filled. We had a lot of left overs. He gave us boxes and one bag. As we were placing our items into the bag, and anyone could see that it was going to fall over, He walked by and said tie it up in a stern tone. Big surprise it leaked and I was pissed. My experience there has not been good. The lack of professionalism and kindness that a waiter should have is clearly not there. There is much better places to go for Indian food.

We were from out of town and went here based on reviews. The restaurant was clean and the proprietor very pleasant. However, the buffet was absolutely pathetic. The sauces were all very runny and mostly tasteless. We love Indian food — there’s a tiny restaurant in Pennsylvania that is a gem. However, A Taste of India’s food barely resembled the flavorful meals we’ve had at home.

Very good, I am a picky Indian food eater. Spice level is one click too low. Had the navarathen vegetable korma hot, roti naan, and vegetable samosa to start. I can highly recommend this place for dinner. On the higher end of my list of Indian restaurants.

Food was awesome, everything was very good. A small part of my nan bread was not cooked all the way, but that being said I put it aside and ate all the rest which was delightful. This place is fairly priced for what you get. The owner is a touch on the rough side. He is very short in his responses. But whatever, everyone has a grumpy day so I get it. I would come back again, the menu is vast I look forward to trying something else next time.

Love, love, love! I tried the buffet and found some new dishes that I prob wouldn’t have tried before but now I have some more favorites! Also, I like to get take out too! They’re open late. Big portions and made right to order! Dining in or carry out, everyone is so friendly.

Having read some of the reviews while passing through Fort Wayne, I was concerned about visiting«A Taste of India.» The desire for indian food won out. Tonight was my second time back in 2 weeks and I am a fan. Both times the food was fresh and as good as I have ever had. My dining partner had Chicken Makani and last time the Chicken Tiki Masala. She thought both dishes were fantastic. I had vegetarian dishes both times — dumpling dish and then one with spinach and peas. Liked them both very much. The server was friendly and attentive. Just a great experience. Planning to stop in everyt ime I pass through the area in the future.

If you look around at details, you’ll start to notice how dirty the place is: walls, bathroom, tabletop. Gross. Trying not to think too much about what that means regarding our food, we ordered several dishes off the menu. Everything was either bland or very salty. Just plain uninspired, and I’m waiting for my food borne illness to start in a few hours. Avoid.

Came to Fort Wayne to visit with my daughter. I’ve ate at another Indian restaurant nearby my home town and love the cuisine. So I googled and got this restaurant as most popular return. Atmosphere was cozy. Table settings nice. Food was very good. Not as good as my more local Indian restaurant, but a good representation of much of the same dishes. I wish I had made it for the buffet, then I would have been able to try more dishes. I would definitely go back, the waitress was good, all in all a good experience!

Everytime I visit Fort Wayne, I make sure to stop by ‘A Taste of India’. Never been to India myself, so I cannot say whether or not this place is authentic, however, their dishes are phenomenol! In particular, there is a dish called ‘Chana Saag’, which is basically Garbanzo peas/beans mixed with creamy spinach. I swear to you, that dish is like a narcotic. Hang on now, I’ve had a narcotic so I cannot really say that. Well, you know what I’m getting at! Seasoned just right, the silky spinach, served on a bed of warm basmati rice, is a perfectly spiced and well flavored dish. It’s like a dance party in your mouth and you don’t want it to stop. I kid you not, the dish was so good, I bought 2 extras for my flight back to Chicago. At security, they saw the containers under xray and opened them making sure they were safe as carry-on(s). After they popped the top, the guards immediately remarked how delicious the food smelled and how hungry they all of a sudden were. Luckily, they didn’t end up keeping MY chana saag and I was able to enjoy it back in the comfort of my own house.
