Cali Spa

Absolutely love this Spa~ Kenny is the absolute best with Pink/​White nails! I had lived in the Fort Wayne area and moved into the SW part of Fort Wayne about 18 months ago. I tried about every nail salon in the area and have returned to Cali Spa as they are clean and have a wonderful atmosphere, and they can’t be beat as far as talent. So, I’m willing to drive the extra miles for an outstanding shellac pedi with Jane and a perfect Pink/​White set of nails with Kenny.

Walked in for an eyebrow and upper lip wax! Had excellent service and staff was super friendly! Definitely would go back

Oh Cali Spa!
So today was my first visit to Cali Spa. I’ve read many mixed reviews of this place. I loved it. Here’s how it happened. I called and spoke to Allysa at 12:15p and gave her a list of services we needed. Here’s the list: one manicure, two pedicures, one 60min therapeutic massage with aromatherapy, one wax. She placed me on hold for less than a minute and set a 3p appt. at 2:40, my boyfriend and I arrived. I sat for my pedicure (by Kiet) and the bf went for massage (by Lynn). I loved my pedi. It didn’t tickle and he wasn’t rough. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. Then I went for a manicure (by Peter). Peter is my new bff! He nicked my pinky when removing cuticle, but he apologized and fixed it for me. I didn’t even realize it happened. He suggested Paraffin hand mask and it was nice. After manicure, I met with Holly for waxing. I explained to her previous nightmare of waxing, and she was so sweet. Every time she had to pull off wax, she warned me and took deep breathes with me. Super awesome! Someone left a review saying she was nasty to staff and customers. She was probably having a bad day that day. But she was wonderfully sweet to me. Just wonderful. This was my bf’s first pedicure and he says never again. Bc he just doesn’t agree that men should get pedicures. He’s weird and I think he secretly liked it bc he keeps looking at his feet. LOL I gave Cali Spa five stars because everyone was so friendly. The bill wasn’t too much bc of discounts, but I enjoyed it. Thanks Cali Spa! Will return soon.

I like Cali Spa. It’s clean. The staff are courteous overall and they do a good job. The reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the technicians clearly speak about the customers in front of and behind the customers and laugh. I really wish I could translate what they are saying but I gather from their tones, pointing, gestures and laughs that they are mocking customers. I used up my gift cards so I will be looking for another place.

Love this place! Try a lavender foot spa comes with hot stones massage! Best pedicure I’ve ever had!!!

Short version:
I’ve been going to Cali Spa for a long time. They have always provided good, friendly service in the past. I do not recommend Holly. She is rude, unprofessional, and my nail was crooked! She appears to be a manager. She was rude to the employees and she was rude to me. That says a lot about a person. Everyone else I’ve had has been great! I recommend Cali Spa! Try their massages too!
Long version:
I always have a good experience at Cali Spa. I’ve been going there for a long time. Holly was my nail tech for the first time recently. I had a couple nails repaired that had broken. Holly recommended I get shorter nails next time I get them done. Which was confusing because my nails are short. She tried to tell me Shellac, which they actually use a different brand of gel polish, only works on really short nails. When my nails were done about a week ago Jon (who did a great job!) made my nails as short as they could go, as I requested. I thought there was a language barrier and asked if Holly meant long? She rolled her eyes and said something in her language to the tech sitting next to her. Then they giggled. The other nail tech butted into our conversation not knowing what was said. How unprofessional of both of them.
Holly left me sitting. Who knows where she went. She never said I was supposed to leave my fingers under the light four times instead of the usual two. She came back and asked did you do four times? I said, no, you didn’t say that. This wasted time I could have been done. She left me sitting again. To top it all off my nail/​overlay was crooked! I couldn’t stand to be around her another moment, so I left once I paid. I didn’t want to cause a scene.
I am a faithful customer, I have gotten manis, pedis, fullbody massages, reflexology, a facial, and my eyebrows cleaned up. Heck I’ve even brought my boyfriend for a pedi and I’ve recommended Cali Spa to others. Always great service!
I would not recommend Holly, who appears to be a manager of some sort. I feel sorry for the employees who work with her, because she orders them around every time I’m in there. They really don’t deserve to be treated that way and neither do I. Listening to the customer instead of talking over them goes a long way. I’ve had just about everyone that works there and they all have been friendly, professional, and provided great service. I will return, but Holly will never be my nail tech.

Impressive interior and exterior of the building. Got a pedicure and it didn’t disappoint. They set a timer so they don’t go over a certain time period, but the longevity of the leg massage was enough to bring me back again!

I made a last-​minute appointment at Cali Spa for full leg + Brazilian bikini wax and was completely satisfied by my experience! Pamela (legs) and Holly (brazilian) were both very professional and friendly, quick, and thorough. It is pricey, as all quality waxing around here is, but at least the price matches the professionalism. Bonus: Most comfortable waxing table I’ve ever been on.

Disappointing! I went for pedicures with a friend, and neither of us had a good experience. I got nipped repeatedly (cuticle cutting!), they weren’t sure what to do with my pinky toe nails (and I’ve never had this problem), and overall felt rushed.
The place *looks* clean, but when I got up I saw how they «cleaned» my tub. There was some spritzing involved and a little wipe with a towel, but no scrubbing!
I agree with the previous post about the size of the place. It is set up for large parties, but doesn’t feel relaxing if you are alone. It felt more like an assembly line — one that is trying to break a record for # of pedicures per hour.

I decided Friday at 4pm that I wanted to get a pedicure before the weekend. Since my normal salon is by appointment only and isn’t open on Friday nights, I decided to try Cali Spa.

Pedicurist disappeared for 15 minutes while I soaked
Not sure of the pricing — She asked if I wanted regular or deluxe and then I was charged $ 27. Nothing on the menu online is $ 27.
No base coat used
Overall — In a similar situation, I will return to Cali Spa.

Very big place, would probably be great for large parties. If you are coming in by yourself or with a friend, its not very private. I would also say that their nail polish color selection was a tad limited, lots of polish bottles, but numerous repeats.
