This is by far the BEST HAIR SALON in Fort Wayne, I kid you not. They’re slightly hidden but everyone here is friendly, welcoming, fantastic and so an amazing job. I went my first time about a month ago and I was a bit skeptical because I do not trust ANYONE with my hair. For years I have done my own hair and decided to go to a salon that eventually ended up ruining my hair and came here for the big fix!
I was able to get in quickly and saw Bre Burkey. She color corrected my hair and was able to treat it so that the dry damaged hair would look just as good as it did before! She was patient with me in deciding the hair color I wanted. I went black last month and just yesterday after 7 hours of long hard work and patience, she was able to give me fabulous blonde highlights after ONE color removal! It looks beautiful, feels soft with little to no damage (despite the fact I bleach bleach bleach my hair) she is INCREDIBLE! I ended up tipping her $ 40 for such a fabulous job. She brought my confidence up and I definitely enjoy the entire atmosphere of this hair salon. Accidents happen where you make a mistake on your hair but all of the staff here made me feel in good hands after my mistake. They didn’t make me feel like I was being judged. I see how they work around me and other clients. They’re great.
I will definitely be coming back. The experience was awesome and thanks again Bre for your effort and patience in making sure my hair looked great! Thank you to all the staff who was friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed my experience and plan on coming in more often! ;-)

I booked an appointment online (so EASY to use, convenient, and all the prices are located on the online menu) with Abby L. in October to chop off about a foot of hair. She was wonderful & my hair cut & highlights turned out better than I could have imagined! Not only her work as a hair stylist/​artist but her personality have made me feel like I’ve found a stylist for life. All of the girls are so friendly and make you feel comfortable & at home while you’re there. I will return again & again. Abby does great work, really listens to your needs, but also has a lot of artistic input. I haven’t been disappointed.
Don’t let the exterior fool you, it looks & feels like a high end salon when you walk in the doors. Thank you Elevation 138… you’re a gem!

I recently checked out this salon for a cut and a color. A friend of mine, Lexie, recently started her apprenticeship here so I gave it a go. It is located off of Lima Road in a strip mall… could easily be missed so pay attention!
The inside was not what I was expecting from the looks of the strip mall. Very beautifully decorated and way bigger than it looks. My color and cut were awesome. I paid $ 75…which is on the cheaper end for us ladies. But I am pretty sure the cost was due to my stylist friend still completing her apprenticeship.
They use Redken products. One downfall in my opinion is that the salon has well water. Once I was told that after getting my color washed out I instantly was nervous to see the results. Being a blonde, well water can turn your hair an golden-​yellowy. Luckily they use good enough products that I didn’t notice any weird coloring to my hair.

Been here before and was pleased enough. Here today for a 9:00 AM appointment and the salon is not yet open, despite a posted 9 am opening time and 3 people waiting outside who, apparently, also had 9 am appointments. Very bad business. I’m leaving and telling my husband, who has a 9:30, not to bother coming.
UPDATE: turns out the only key holder, the receptionist (??), overslept or something, the power went out during my cut twice, but Loran Jones did a fantastic job on my color and cut. Redeemed. Did great job on hubby’s hair too, so we’ll be back. Tip to owner: give keys to others or be there yourself to open salon early.

Once again walking away so happy from Elevation 138! Loran did an amazing job (I knew show would) but it’s beyond what I could’ve expected! I don’t know why I go in nervous… because it always turns out wonderful!

This is a hidden gem! A beautiful place with an amazing staff. Each person has their own uniqueness and so accommodating.

I visited the salon to get wash and blow dry done for the wedding I was going to.
I am from NY, super picky and did extensive research prior to my appointment for a decent/​clean hair salon in Fort Wayne. I didn’t know what to expect, my first time in Fort Wayne — so the goal was to come out looking decent and enjoy the experience. When I pay for services, I like to enjoy the process and be pampered regardless of the cost.
Bottom line, I was not disappointed. The staff and the owner all so so nice. The salon is big. I was very impressed with the products they use. All top of the line. Basically, If you are looking to get your hair done (they offer other services — I saw pedi/​mani), don’t hesitate. Go to Elevation. I have done all research for you and highly recommend them. It’s nice and clean, friendly staff, great products, good prices — what else matters?! They really cater to their customers needs and it’s refreshing to see that, especially being from NYC.

I have gone to Elevation since they opened. They are very professional and work hard to make sure the customer is always happy… I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

As I am new to the area, I used Unilocal to try to help me find a good hair salon. I should have followed my gut instinct when I pulled up to this place and saw the place from the outside. It looked as someone else stated, «sad.»
While all of the staff was very friendly, the professionalism was lacking. For example, the shampoo girl and another girl who helped dry my hair failed to introduce themselves. There was hair all over the floor. While I was left under the dryer once, I continuously had stuff dripping down my face with no towel to stop it. I kept using my cape trying to catch it before it got in my eyes and counted 5 different people who walked by while I did so, including the owner. None provided a towel. Also, my stylist kept rushing what she was doing with me, stating she had another appointment coming in. If you don’t have time to do my hair properly, schedule me for another time. My stylist spent nearly 45 minutes talking with me about what I was looking for, which I thought was great and felt sure she understood what I wanted by that time. I showed her pictures of what I did and did not want. What did she do? She colored it exactly the color I told her I did not want. I now have mahogany red hair that looks like it belongs on a teenager or an elderly woman with very short hair. She did not have the time to do highlights, which I said I wanted when I made the appointment and during our session. I was told to wait 5 days and see if it lightened up and then call her to make an appointment for highlights. I won’t even go into the haircut (if you can call it that). She barely trimmed it, not giving me the shorter, more texturized bangs I asked for. After the third time she barely trimmed the hair framing my face, I gave up. She WAS very nice and friendly, however, I wish I had never gone there in the first place. I guess I need to now invest in some hats.

Good service, reasonably priced. Over all a great experience. I had Bri as a stylist and she made sure to ask lots of questions so I got exactly what I wanted. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would recommend.

Amazing salon with outstanding stylists and estheticians! Never been to a better salon! Surprised at all the services they do… not just hair!

So after reading all fantastic reviews, I booked myself an appointment at Elevation.
Looks sad from outside but friendly ambience inside.
Well, I just went there for fringes for a new fall look. I showed my hairdresser a picture of the kind of fringes I want. I mean fringes are simple right? How can you go wrong?
Well, she did. Do you remember Becca from Californication? Well, I look like that today!!! Woke up with teary eyes & unmanageable hair.
I am never going back there again.
I am just silently praying for my hair to grow soon.

Got my hair highlighted here by Julia last summer and I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair ! She did a wonderful job and you could definitely tell she knew exactly what she was doing. She was also very friendly and took her time with my hair.
If you plan to get your hair done, ask for Julia ! She will hook you up! :)

Absolutely adore this place. Everyone is professional, friendly and helpful. I’ve had two stylists that have cut and highlighted my hair and they gave me exactly what I wanted and even better. The atmosphere, people, service and prices are all highly recommended.

I was referred to Freida when I had to find a new stylist unexpectedly. Freida is friendly and professional, but I was unimpressed by the haircut and color/​highlights I received. The highlights I received were OK, but I’ve had better. I also have a small amount of grey (mostly at one temple) and told her it would be great if she could cover up a lot of it, which she did not do. It would have only taken her an extra minute to do this… I mentioned to her at least 3 times before she cut my hair that I did not want to lose my longer pieces in the front. Well, I found those pieces in my lap with her first few cuts. I’m looking at about 8 months now to grow them back. She rushed through my shampoo and conditioning. My hair felt dry and brittle afterwards, where I’m used to my hair feeling amazing for weeks after I get it colored. She told me she would call me the following week to see if I had anything I wanted fixed or tweaked, but I never heard from her. I suspect that the majority of the problems were the salon might have booked her too busy, but that doesn’t excuse the lack of following up with me nor the generally poor quality. I feel if you put me in your chair and I’m expected to pay full prices, I deserve quality results. I found the pricing quite expensive for such a rushed and unsatisfying experience.

Wonderful stylists, I’ve had Ferida and Anna and they are both amazing at what they do! Anna is fantastic at natural color highlights, great at cutting and does an awesome shampoo :) Can’t go wrong with either of them!

I was referred to Anna and had a great experience. She is very talented and has solid experience with cuts, styling, and color. She was also very kind and professional in consulting with me on some of my concerns. Prices are reasonable, too!
