Joseph’s Herbs & Vitamins

I think this place is worth 5 stars for friendliness, variety of merchandise and location. I normally visit this place at least once while I’m in town, to stock up on a few items during my trip like raw bars and vitamins.
The lack of two stars is for the quantities they seem to have on hand. Granted, they probably don’t sell a lot, but they were OUT of everything I wanted. Seriously, that was a bit annoying. I think the worst part is that I went in specifically for GT’s Kombucha. The GT Kombucha website lists Joseph’s as a supplier, but the owner said that she only orders for herself, not to stock in the store. Weird, and disappointing.
Their prices are really fair on some things, and fairly high on other things. $ 17 for a b-​complex calming compound??? Yikes. But $ 1.49 for raw bars that would normally be over $ 2, cool.

Joseph’s has an excellent selection of vitamins and herbal remedies. They’re not cheap, but he seems to stock everything. There is a good selection of soaps, toothpastes, shampoos, and lotions. He also has a small section of refrigerated and frozen food, canned and packaged food (chips, spices, oils, teas, coffee, chewing gum, candies).
Joseph has a private stock of vitamins/​remedies that he will only sell you after he’s sat down and consulted with you regarding your particular health concerns. He uses ‘iridology’, a way of looking closely at the irises of both eyes to analyze your health. I was skeptical, but after he’d correctly «diagnosed» my wife’s condition and given her good natural remedies, I think I believe more in these «alternative» medical practices than the traditional physicians, who are trained to support the pharmaceutical companies.
This is a family run business, and you will frequently see his wife or daughters running the cash register and helping customers find something, while Joseph is in his consultation room with someone.
This business is located near the intersection of Coldwater Road and Wallen Road, adjacent to the Lassus Gas Station.
