I’m a big fan of Fort Wayne farmers markets. When I can’t get to one for my vegetables and fruit, Meijer is the next best option. The produce selection here is great, lots of variety and you won’t find anything close to this quality at WM. The one negative would be the over-abundance of self-checkout lanes/lack of human cashiers. I regularly get 3 – 4 barcodes that just won’t scan, have to set them aside for later and then wait for help to arrive…

The day God created Meijer, heavenly choirs of angels sang: «Hallelujah! Hallelujah!» People danced in the street. The lame walked, and the blind saw. There was much rejoicing. Unfortunately, we do not have Meijer in Southern California. On a night like tonight, when I am preparing to go to Vegas in the morning, I desperately wish there was one nearby so I could pick up all my last minute necessities. For those of you not in the know, Meijer is like if you took a Target, a Ralphs, and an OSH and glued them all together. Add a Steak and Shake restaurant and a gas station out in front, open it all 24 hours a day, and that’s Meijer. It’s the perfect physical manifestation of convenience. Seriously, you could probably build and fully stock a house just using what you could buy here. Sweet Meijer, I miss you. =(
